Isabelle for Kraftin' Kimmie 'Flowers' and Kit & Clowder's 'Wings'

Good morning all! Are you having a fab weekend so far?  I'm feeling great today, the sun is shining, and life is good.  My Dad's health has picked up a bit this last month, we were very worried about him at the beginning of the year (he has had a series of mini strokes) and while he is still quite frail and has lost most of the strength in his left side (he is left handed so this is a complete bummer) he does at least seem to have his appetite back and is eating properly again and doesn't seem so depressed. So I'm happy about that.

I am also very excited because today *DRUMROLL*   is my first post as GDT for Kraftin'' Kimmie Stamps !! I'm sooo excited to be guesting as part of Kim's fabulous design team and Kim and all the girls have been really welcoming and so much fun on Facebook too : )

Ok so enough chat about me and on to the challenge!

This week our hostess is the lovely SHERI, and her challenge is FLOWERS!!

So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamp that features flowers in some way! So in the image itself, in the patterned paper, add flower diecuts or flower embellishments!! ! We love to see flowers!!
and
Wait till you hear this!

Kraftin' Kimmie is  ALSO sponsoring the challenge over on the Kit and Clowder blog!!! Their challenge is WINGS so if you create a card featuring FLOWERS AND WINGS, you can enter it into BOTH challenges for DOUBLE the chances to WIN!!! How awesome is THAT?!?

Also BIG NEWS is that  sweet Alyce from Kit and Clowder will be doing a LIVE COLOUR ALONG online on March 29th and she’ll be using the HANNAH HEARTS stamp set by Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!!!

So if you’d like to join this fabulously fun and FREE feature next month, be sure to scoop up Hannah who just happens to be ON SALE 20% OFF right now!!! Be sure to order her right away so that she has time to arrive in your mail!!

Of course, there's the normal  Frugal Friday Specials on this weekend with 25-50 percent off some specially chosen stamps!! Since our challenges this week are flowers and wings, there's a theme going for the specials!!! Enjoy savings on fairies, pixies, sprites and flowers! There's also LOTS of brand new 6x6 paper pads…while supplies last!!

Phew....that's a lot of yummy  crafting goodness to take in!

I decided to go all out for my first guest post and cover both challenges.  So my card has both flowers and wings. Here's what I made.

I chose these lovely papers by Maja Design, a mix of Vintage Summer Basics and Vintage Spring Basics, I thought they were lovely colours and had plenty of flowers on them and I also added lots of flower embellies.

For 'Wings' I used the oh so lovely Isabelle, designed by Annie Rodriguez, isn't she just the prettiest?  Love her dress too,  I've added some stickles to her dress and wings, but it's very hard to get it to show up in the photos. To add some more wings I cut lots of pretty butterflies with an X-Cut Punch that I bought on sale in my local craft store.

I coloured her with Copics and stupidly didn't write them down, I'll try and work out which colours I used and add them here later.  I sprinkled some frantage in Aged Aqua and Chunky white around the image.

I used a Martha Stewart PATP punch set to make the shape of my card and distressed and inked, then stitched all my layers. The swirls are made with a Magnolia Doo Hickey Die and the gorgeous paper flowers I used are all from the Ribbon Girl or Wild Orchid Crafts.

I added some cheesecloth under my layers, some lace with velvet ribbon and some gathered ivory tulle and finished off with some coloured pearls and pins from my stash.

Well that's my card, now check out the wonderful creations by  the rest of the Krafty Girls and special Krafty Guests featuring this week’s challenge and head over to the Kit and Clowder blog for their challenge!! We’re sure you’ll be inspired!! Then join us, play along and you could WIN some fantastic Kraftin' Kimmie rubbah!

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday folks, I'll be back tomorrow with my card for Totally Tilda.

Have fun! : ) x x
