Whimsy Stamps - Waving Hello

I hope everyone is keeping well and if you are in the UK I hope you're enjoying the sunny weather we've been having lately. I must admit it's a shock to actually be getting a summer this year (while it lasts), but the humidity has been getting to me a little. My asthma does not like the heavy weather much at all at the moment, but it's so nice to see the sun I won't complain too much. other news, my card today uses the Splash clear stamp set from the June release that I used a couple of weeks ago. This time I've made a completely different style of card. I stamped my images with Versamark ink and embossed them with white embossing powder, stamping the boat separately from the background.

I water coloured the background and boat with my Zig markers, fussy cut the boat, cut into the waves with my craft knife and inserted the boat so it's sitting among the waves, rather than on the top, gluing it firmly to the background.

I then cut out a panel of wood panelled patterned paper, and cut a circle from the centre, adding some acetate to the back. I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set underneath the circle with black Versafine ink.
I added foam tape around the circle for the shaker portion and then more foam tape to pop up the rest of the panel.

I glued the background panel to my card base, added some sequins to the centre and added my wood patterned panel on top, centred on my card base and background panel.

Finally I cut a circle frame using the Shaker Combo Die Set, in silver mirri card and glued that around my aperture, adding some little screw embellishments to make it look a bit like a port hole on a ship.

I do hope you like my card for today, all items can be found using the links below, just click on the pics to take you directly to the items in the store.

Image may contain: text

Hello! Whimsy Stamps are participating in a little 2 day blog hop for the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Full details below, I made a card with my colouring, but please don't think you have to, colouring an image is enough.
I made a card using Whimsy Stamps Mazzerine Butterfly Fairy Stamp, water coloured with a combination of Distress Ink and Zig Markers to match my pretty papers. I've listed all the items used from Whimsy Stamps, along with links, at the end of this post. I finished off my card with some brads that I've had in my stash for about 5 years! They match with my colours and patterns so well though don't they?

This is Day 2 of a two day hop to celebrate the tenth 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Have you heard of “The Daily Marker’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge” hosted by Kathy Racoosin? Right now it’s in the middle of the challenge and it’s a great time to take a leap, jump in and get your feet wet! Don’t feel like you are jumping into the middle of the challenge I hope you will think of it as a new beginning.

Whimsy Stamps - Baby Love

I have a sweet little card for you today, using the Giraffe Baby Love stamp by Whimsy Stamps.

This is a great card for so many different occasions, not just for a new baby.

I've also used the Cloud and Grass Edger dies and the Shaker Maker Combo die set from Whimsy Stamps to make my card.

I used a giraffe stencil from my stash to create the pattern on my frame using Vintage Photo and Antique Linen distress inks.

My stamp is coloured with Zig Watercolor Markers and I used a little Tumbled Glass distress ink to ad a little colour to the skyline.

Whimsy Stamps June Release - Let's Be Mermaids

I have a shaker card for you today, made with the new Let's Be Mermaids clear stamp set from the June release at Whimsy Stamps.

I stamped my mermaid and coloured her with a mix of distress and zig markers, and then fussy cut her out.

I made my background with distress oxide inks and blending tools over the new Mermaid Scaled stencil. (all links at the end of my post, just click on the pics to be taken to the item in store), and sprayed and blotted with some water to activate and create a watery effect.

I cut my shaker apeture with an oval die and used my oxides again to make the shaker bac kground, stamping out the sentiment on top along with some of the bubbles from the set. I also stamped some bubbles and small shoals of fish onto my top card. I put my shaker card together on my base card popped my mermaid up with some shallow foam tape, and added some extra clear sequins on top to finish.

Whimsy Stamps June Release - Splash

This year is rolling by so fast I can't quite believe it's June already!

Today I have a fun and simple card, made using a new clear stamp set from the Whimsy Stamps June release.

It's called Splash and it a versatile little set you could use for many occasions. I love that it works for masculine cards too, I think I'll be making quite a few cards using this set as it also works well with other ocean themed stamps.

Making this card was so easy. First I stamped the waves with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. Then I used several blue tones of ink and blending tools to colour the waves and create a sky. I stamped the dolphins and seagulls with Versafine ink and then cut a piece of white card with a cloud edger die and stamped a sentiment from the set on top.
I adhered this onto my panel and then trimmed the panel to be a little smaller than my card base and glued it to the base with a piece of craft foam in between to pop it up a little.
To finish I added some some Nuvo Crystal Drops - Morning Dew to look like water droplets.

I've added links to the products used below, just click on the pics.
