CAS for Totally Tilda

Happy Sunday everyone, I do hope you're enjoying your weekend, the weather here has been pretty poor, so I've been beavering away in my craft room trying to get ahead on DT work, so that when (optimist here) the good weather does arrive I can drop everything and just enjoy it!

Anyhoo....enough of the weather (can you tell I'm British lol), and on with the reason I'm here today, and that's t share our new challenge over at Totally Tilda.

Our challenge this week is CAS! Yup that's right, we want to see your Clean and Simple creations.
Now I'll admit right away that this is not my strong suit, I love looking at good CAS cards, done right they can be stunning, but I don't do them well, I always want to titivate lol, so I don't make them.
Still I gave it my best shot and made my first proper CAS card.

Now as all who have followed me for a while know, I like to give myself a challenge from time to time and another thing I had on my list of things to try my hand at was.......no lines colouring.
Yup I do like to make things hard for myself don't I?
I did stamp this is London Fog, which was a colour recommended for this, but I think I will try to go even lighter next time as you can still see some lines on the lighter parts of the colouring.

I chose to use Handy Tilda, because I made this for my Dad's birthday in May.  He's retired now but he used to be a Shopfitter and was a trained Cabinet Maker and Joiner, and I used to have pretty frizzy hair when I was a child, so I thought this image would be perfect to use for him.  The papers are both sides of one sheet of Maja Design from the Fika Collection. I thought these hammer and saw  charms were just what was needed and strung them simply on a little twine.  I chose a really simple sentiment and the only other embellishment (unless you count my stitching) is a few Tim Holtz brads which look like screws and finish off the theme.

Here's a close up of the colouring, I think I should have detailed those screws a bit more.

Do pop over to the blog and take a look at the rest of the DTs CAS work, there are some stunners there from some CAS experts (which I'm not lol).

Our lovely sponsor this week is

So come on and have a go, if I can do it anyone can!

I Love Paris in the Springtime

Morning everyone!  It's a miserable grey day here, but it's the weekend and we can all relax and get some crafting in!

I'm here today with my very last (sob) card as GDT for Kraftin' Kimmie.  I've had such a marvelous time guesting for them and all the girls have been so fantastic and supportive (not to mention fun and crazy) and I will really miss them all, but I have so many things crammed into my diary for the next few months, so I'm trying not to take on more than I can cope with and end up whimpering under my craft desk lol.

Anyway enough of my drivel and on to the challenge!

This week our hostess with the mostest is KAREN !! And her challenge is SPRING HAS SPRUNG!! So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamp that features spring in some way!! Have some krafty fun and join us this week!!

I took a slightly different take on the Spring has Sprung theme, at this time of year there's a fair few Spring/Easter themes going on and I could have gone with flowers or eggs/bunnies etc, but I have already done some like that and for some reason this stamp 'Michele' always makes me hum the song 'I love Paris in the springtime' and I'd been sent this lovely Spring collection in my DT pack from Dies to Die for and then I found this little button in my stash with the title of the song...and just like that the inspiration for my card was born.

I've added links to the products I've used at the end of my post, apart from the buttons and bling which were from my stash. For once I decided not to add any flowers or lace or ribbon....my card feels naked!  But they just didn't really work with the layout, believe me I tried lol. The sentiment and postcard comes from the same collection as the paper, it's almost like a card in a bag.

I coloured Michele in in Copics, with quite strong colours to match my papers,

popped an Eiffel Tower dies cut behind her and finished off the card with this beautiful butterfly.

Now check out the wonderful creations by the Krafty Girls and special Krafty Guests featuring this week’s challenge!! We’re sure you’ll be inspired!! Then join us, play along and you could WIN!!

Well that's if for today, I'll be back tomorrow with my DT card for Totally Tilda and it's very different from my usual cards, but I'll let you see for yourself, take care and enjoy your weekend! : ) x x

Coco, Wonderful Wednesday for Kraftin' Kimmie

Good afternoon everyone. I'm still on my hols at the mo so posting this live today. It's Wednesday and  I'm sharing my GDT card for Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday challenge.  These are always Anything Goes challenges,  your submission must use at least one Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp but can be any theme, any style, any design and it can be a card, a scrapbook page, an altered item....you name it!!
It must be a NEW creation and you can enter until Tuesday, April 1st when the winner for March will be announced!! What do you think.....wanna WIN??

**Please note that you are more than welcome to combine this Wonderful Wednesday Share to Win challenge with other challenges, BUT not our regular weekly challenges. This must be a new and different creation than anything you create for our Saturday challenges.

I decided to go with Coco Chocolate as I've been dying to use her and Tracy from Dies to Die for had sent me this delicious pack of paper full of reds pinks and chocolate browns, just perfect for this image I thought.
It's a simply fabulous pack, because not only do you get lots of strokeable double sided designs, you also get 2 pages of stickers! I've used some of the little word stickers to make my sentiment, but Coco does also come with it's own fabulous sentiment if you prefer to use a stamped one.  I've put links to the products I've used from the UK at the end of my post.

I coloured her with my Copics, I used E13, E11, E00, E000 for her skin, R81, R83, R85, R35, R37 and R59 for her outfit and so many different bown tones for her hair and the chocolates that I forgot to list them as I was working, mostly from the E20s and E50s, but also a couple from the E30s. For the white chocolate I used E50, E41 and E42.

The frame for the sentiment is a Tim Holtz book plate, I love using these but you do need a fairly solid card base to use them like this, as they're pretty heavy. The lovely pearl and diamante embellishment is from the Handcrafted Card Company, the pearl was cream, but I coloured it with my Copics to match.

I layered up some brown tulle (which I gathered by hand) which was a pressie from a friend, (thank you Susie!) with some pale pink lace, red satin ribbon and thin brown velvet ribbon, these were all leftovers from other cards that I've had in my stash for ages now. I had to use lots of glue and tape to hold all this lot down lol.

I finished the whole lot of with some die cut flourishes and some pearls and gems and then decorated the inside to complement the front, the picture isn't great I'm afraid, it was very hard to get the light in there when I took it.
Don't forget that Alyce from Kit & Clowder is doing a live colour along with Kraftin' Kimmie's Hannah Hearts this Saturday. Unfortunately Hannah appears to out of stock right now, but if you managed to snap her up we hope to see you at the live colour along...and wouldn't she look perfect on this card too?

Well that's all from me today, I'm off to my crafting corner to get as much as I can done today, it's back to work for me tomorrow *boo!* but then only 2 days till the weekend *yay!*.  I'll be back here on Saturday to share my last GDT card for Kraftin' Kimmie with you.
Until then, happy craftin' !! : ) x x

Breeze at Dies to Die for

Happy Tuesday everyone!  For me it really is a happy Tuesday and for once my post is not scheduled because I'm off work until Thursday, yay!  So lots of crafting time for me !

Today I'd like to share a card I made for my DT inspiration over at Dies to Die for.

I used the delectable 'Breeze' a Saturated Canary stamp in rubber, produced by Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  Isn't she just gorgeous?  I coloured her with my Copics this time but I'm itching to colour her in distress inks too, she's so lovely to colour.
Skin : E11, E00, E000, E000, R20, R11
Hair: E50, E51, E31, E35, E37
Dress: BG70. BG72, BG75, E41. E42, E43

The papers are by Inkido, I love them so much I had a hard time cutting them and then when I went to link them I discovered they were out of stock, horror! There are others in the range that are very similar though and just as pretty. I distressed and inked all the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink and sewed them with Gutterman Top Stitch thread.

I used some beautiful Prima flowers, some gorgeous pleated organza ribbon, some gold lace which is just too lovely and I managed not to cover completely, some Prima bling and a beautiful brad to hold my seam binding bow in place.  As always links to items in the shop are at the end of this post.

I added some tiny Memory Box butterflies and some Liquid Pearls to finish off my image, and my sentiment.
The sentiment is from a whimsy stamp set and has been cut with a Marianne Design set of dies that I also used the cut the circle framing the image and the aperture for the inside of the card below.

Well that's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with a post for Kraftin' Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday challenge.  Until then, have fun crafting! : ) x x
