Saturated Canary Breeze in Blue

Hello there!

It's time for a new challenge theme over at Deep Ocean Challenge, and it's super easy this time as it's 'Anything Goes'

So I'm going to make a confession here, and I'm wondering if any others of you also do this.
Sometimes I stamp or print up a bunch of images with the intention of colouring them all up ahead of time ready to go on cards as and when needed. All well and good and fabulously organised you may think..........well think again, because what actually happens is I start colouring them and part colour them and then I get busy and work on other stuff that I need to do 'right now' and of course my poor partly coloured images languish, neglected and unused. So I'm trying to work my way through these before I stamp or print anymore.

Today is the turn of Breeze and I have to say that of all the stamps and digis I own, this is probably the one I've coloured the most, except maybe for Tiddly Inks 'You and Me'.

I thought I'd reprise a design I used for her before, but using a different Pion Collection in a different colourway, I've changed up a few other details as well such as card shape etc, but in essence it's the same basic design.

This is how it turned out

this was the original card.

I have to say straight up that I prefer the original card, ....everything actually from the colouring, to the warmer colours, the papers etc, and honestly I had a lot more time to spend on the original card and that definitely shows. But at least I've used up one of those abandoned images!

I do hope you can join in with our challenge and don't forget to check out the rest of the team's gorgeous makes here.

See you soon!

Lisbeth - Winter Warmth

Hi everyone, I'm sharing a little make today using Lisbeth - Winter Warmth, from the new LDRS Creative release.

I thought I'd do a little b & w colouring, but for a bit of interest I added just a touch of blue to her cheeks, hairband, scarf and boots, to pick up the colour of the papers I used for my card. You can find links for the products below.

I used these lovely digital papers from Michelle Roo, I thought they were so perfect for this image!
I fussy cut my image and sat her on this double layered snowflake doily cut with a Whimsy die.

I added some lovely wintery embellishments.

I thought this sparkly bow went really well with the icy theme.

That's all from me today, but I'll be back soon! :) xx

Wendy's Kisses & Daisy Wishes at Little Darlings Rubber Stamps

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend.
I'm here with my 2nd post for Little Darlings Rubber Stamps and I have a super cute share for you today. I've actually had this card scheduled for weeks now, because I made it for a special friend's birthday at the end of March, get me being so far ahead!

I used Wendy's Kisses and Daisy Wishes, isn't she sweet?!

I went for blue and white, (unusual for me), because I chose this Pion paper which I thought worked so well with the daisies. So much so that I also paper pieced her dress. Behind the flowers you can see the Lovely View die peeking out and I also used a sentiment from the Vintage Affections - Friends sentiment set.  I've popped a list of the items used from my favourite stores at the end of my post.

I coloured Wendy with my Distress Ink and Aquatint markers.

Colours used

Skin: Vintage Photo
Hair Walnut Stain, Gathered Twigs
Dress: Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire, Slate (AQT)

A few little close ups.

I'm entering the following challenges:

Live & Love Crafts - Signs of Spring
Challenge up your Life - Watercolour
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Add a sentiment.

That's all from me today, I do hope you're having a lovely weekend and I'll see you soon! :) xx

Rebecca masquerading at the ball.

Happy Friday everyone! Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my Steampunk Valentine card yesterday. I have another Saturated Canary creation to share with you today, this time in rubber from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.

This is Rebecca, isn't she just dreamy?

I've coloured her up using my distress ink markers again and I don't have the colours for you today I'm afraid as I coloured this a while back and I cannot find where I scribbled my notes!

I coloured her to match these beautiful Pion papers, these are from the My Beloved Son collection, but they look wonderful used on girly cards too! That wonderful mask die is from La-La Land Crafts, I can see myself using that a lot.

I've finished with some gorgeous embellies from the Ribbon Girl and gone all shabby chic here with lashings of Gesso.

The inside is simply decorated with more of those pretty papers and a blank space for a message.

List of products used:

LDRS Saturated Canary Rebecca - Sadly out of stock

I also used lots of lovely embellies from The Ribbon Girl, including that gorgeous blue silk ribbon!

That's all from me today, but I'll be back on Sunday :) xx

Eva - Vintage Style at Dies to Die for

Woohoo it's nearly the weekend!  I've been super busy this week working on some secret projects that I can't tell you about just yet, but I will say it's terribly exciting! I'd like to say a big hello to all of my new followers, it's so lovely to have you join me on my creative journey :)

I must admit to being just a little bit in love with today's card for Dies to Die for, the mojo was just racing along with this one, I had so much fun making it.

The beautiful girl is Eva, a Saturated Canary image from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.
Isn't she gorgeous?  I've coloured her with my distress ink markers....I know, I know, I will colour again with my Copics, but to be honest I'm just having so much fun seeing what I can do with the DI markers right now. I went for a slightly darker skin tone this time as I wanted her to look a little exotic.

Colours used:

Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Fired Brick
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Broken Twigs
Outfit: Milled Lavender, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Pumice Stone

I used some lovely Bildlamarna papers and the pretty doily die is from Cheery Lynn.
All papers have been edged with Pumice Stone DI and hand stitched with Top Stitch thread.

I added lots of lovely embellies, finished off with some daubs of Gesso,

and decorated the inside simply to complement the front.

Embellies from the Ribbon Girl

Well that's all from me today, if you're in the UK I hope you're doing ok in the snow, and I'll see you back here on Monday.

Take care! :) xx

Candy Canes at Dies to Die for

Wheeee! It's Friday again, I've been horribly unwell this week (I even took a couple of days off work sick, which rarely happens), but it's almost the weekend and I'm here with my regular Dies to Die for post.  It's another Christmas card, I do hope you're not getting tired of these lol, but I promise I have some non Christmas creations coming up as well!

This is another Little Darlings Rubber Stamps - Saturated Canary image, she's called Candy Canes .  Now I have to say it wasn't originally my intention to go monochrome with this, she just turned out that way, but I really like the effect. Don't you just love her hair? It reminds me of Mr Whippy ice cream lol  just substitute a couple of chocolate flakes for the Candy Canes hehe.

I've popped a list of products used, along with some links at the end of my post.

I matched her with some gorgeous Maja design papers from the Vintage Frost Basics collection, and I've coloured her in Distress Ink markers.

Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Spun Sugar (blush)
Hair: Spun Sugar, Fired Brick
Clothing: Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Pumice Stone.
I added Glamour Dust to her wings, I also added lines of subtle shimmer to her hair and clothes with a SakuraJelly Roll Stardust pen, but sadly the camera just doesn't pick it up, which is a shame because it's a beautiful effect in the flesh.

I added this lovely MFT Snowflake Doily behind her.

Look at that gorgeous bow, I thought it deserved some extra special bling.

I kept the inside quite simple, as by this time I was feeling very poorly indeed.

Stamp: Candy Canes
MFT Sowflake Doily Die
Reverse Wonky Rectangles
Maja Vintage Frost Basics-3rd December
Maja Vintage Frost Basics-5th December
Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Candy Cane Charm
Ophelia 50mm Ivory Lace
Ivory Flat back Pearl Trim
Ivory Pearl String
Pink Pearl String
Pink Faux Silk Ribbon
8 mm Flat Back Ivory Pearls
Diamante and Pearl Embellishment
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

This card is available to buy in my Etsy shop

ETSY

I hope you like her and that she's inspired you to make a start on those Christmas cards if you haven't already.  I'll be back tomorrow with another (non-Christmas) make and some exciting news!  See you then! :) xx

Casey in Pencils

Happy hump day! Very quick share from me today as I've been suffering with a really awful cold this week and have even been home from work as I felt that bad, very unusual for me.

I experimented with colouring using Polychromos Pencils this weekend, Casey was ideal I thought to try them out as she's really quite quick to colour, and while there is a lot of work still to be done (lots more depth to be achieved I think), she turned out well enough to go on a card.

The beautiful papers are from Maja, Fika collection, love these.

The beautiful butterfly is from Karla's Kreative Korner.

The lovely bling on the bow is from The Handcrafted Card Company

I finished of the inside quite simply, with matching paper, a little seam binding and lace to match the front and a large blank oval for writing a message.

Casey at Dies to Die for

Before I start my post for today, it's my Mum's birthday today, so a big Happy Birthday to my Mum! (I'll be posting the card I've made her tomorrow, once she's had a chance to see it and have it to herself).
Happy Friday everyone. Well I don't know about happy for me, just glad that this week has come to an end I think.  The week started poorly,  I had some disappointing news on Monday missing out on the Saturated Canary DT spots (I know, I know, it really shouldn't matter and it's one reason I hardly ever go in for DT calls and just wait to be invited, as it's a real slap to your ego when you don't get it).

To be fair I get asked more than my fair share and I only take on a fraction of those that do ask me, usually just guesting, as full time work means I can only take on so much, but this one, it was a real dream of mine. Also work has just  really been awful this week, I've been in early all week with so much loaded on me, I've been really stressed out which isn't like me, I've hurt my back/shoulder/neck, so even crafting, which I normally do to de-stress is painful.

Also I'm not enjoying the weather recently, it's been cold wet and miserable, just adding to my mood, so I thought...enough with the moaning,.....  I'd cheer myself up with a make in Spring like colours.

For today's make I chose to ink up Casey, from LDRS and my was she fun to colour......and so quick! Since she's just a 'floating' top half, I thought I'd 'frame' her with this Memory Box die. I did a little 'out of the box' fussy cutting, so the end of her braid hung over the frame. Links to products are at the end of my post.

I've coloured Casey in Distress Ink Markers, colours used are:

Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Fired Brick, Victorian Velvet
Hair: Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs
Clothing: Dusty Concord

I added some lovely yellow and lilac trims, some cheesecloth,  and finished off with some beautiful beaded berries and flowers from  Wild Orchid Crafts and The Ribbon Girl.

The beautiful butterfly is from Karla's Kreative Korner.

The inside is decorated simply to complement the front with plenty of space for your own message.

I used the following products:

Well that's all from me today, I'm off to friends for dinner and drinks tonight, so hopefully that will cheer me up a bit!

I'll see you again tomorrow with more inspiration *hugs* :) xx

She's on sale in the shop, so if you're quick you can snap up a bargain!

I've coloured her with my copics and paper pieced her little dress.

The beautiful papers are Coffee in the Arbour from Maja Design.  I've put a list of products with links at the end of my post.

Papers are inked with Walnut Stain distress ink and hand sewn with top stitch thread.

The cheesecloth, beautiful ribbon and lace is from The Ribbon Girl.  Flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft and TRG, the bling on the bow is from The Handcrafted Card Company.

In the Garden at ACR

Good morning and happy Friday! Boy am I looking forward to chillaxing at the weekend, work has been mental this week.

It's time for a new challenge at A Creative Romance, and today our theme is 'In the Garden'

For my make today I've used Saturated Canary's Gardner Gayle, from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps, but this time I coloured her with distress inks and gave her a vintage feel, using Pion Design's Vintage Garden papers. There's a list of products used with links to the store at the end of my post.

All papers have been distressed and inked with Walnut Stain distress ink and then hand sewn.
She was coloured with the following inks:

Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Fired Brick
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Broken Twigs
Clothing and Flowers: Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Weathered Wood, Old Paper,  Bundled Sage, Black Soot, Scattered Straw.
Basket: Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo, Broken Twigs

I used some beautiful die cuts made with some La-La Land dies. The card stock is a beautiful iridescent one, but sadly it isn't showing up on camera, which is a shame as it's quite lovely in the flesh.

The beautiful lace and ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl, the bling is from The Hamdcrafted Card Company.

I finished off the inside quite simply with one of the 6 x 6 sheets. Flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts.
Distress Ink Walnut Stain
Pink Loopy Ribbon
Pearlescent Cardstock

Do go take a look at the blog, the girls have created some fabulous makes to inspire you and why not join in with our challenge?  We're also looking for talented people to join us for a Guest DT spot, so if that sounds good to you, just pop GDT after your name when you enter.

Our sponsor this week is BunnyZoe's Crafts and they are offering a great prize.

That's all from me today, I'll be back on Sunday with my make for Totally Tilda, have a great weekend! :) xx
