Precious Time for Noor! Design UK

Hi everyone. It's my last post for Noor! Design UK today as Tracy's guest and yep you guessed it, I'm running late again. The past couple of weeks have just been a hectic time, but luckily it should start calming down for me a bit next week. So as you can tell time is a precious thing to me at the moment and that leads us rather neatly into my project today.

I must admit that I was completely out of my comfort zone with this one as I don't really play with mixed media a lot. When Tracy first asked me if I fancied decorating one of the MDF clocks I thought I'd do something very steampunk inspired, but it really didn't work out. So I've been putting this one off till the end lol.
In the end I've gone for shabby chic with a bit of steampunk fusion with the addition of the gears and clock face die. I hope you like it.

I primed my clock with plenty of gesso before adding the paper, crackle glaze and gluing together.
Love that distress glitter, it's fabulous, mind you it get's everywhere lol!

I added lots of Crackle Glaze, I really like the way it adds interest here.

Adding some leaves in among your flowers really helps to break them up when you have a lot of them together, and adds extra interest.

and I finished off with a lock and key and more gesso.
Flowers, twine and pearls are from the Ribbon Girl and my stash.

I hope you like my make today, I've really enjoyed my time as a guest with Noor! Design UK, even if I have had to step out of my comfort zone at time. Thank you so much Tracy for inviting me.

Baker - Kitchen Gift Set for Noor! Design UK

Hi everyone! Well I'm back to work this week and playing catch up. Last week was lovely celebrating my birthday and spending time with my daughter, but I never got to spend much of that crafty time that I'd planned.

I was really quite late finishing this gift set, it should have been posted last Thursday, but I certainly did not make things easy for myself as this was quite a bit of work. I really did enjoy making it though.

As soon as I saw this MDF Apron from Dutch Doobadoo I knew I wanted to make something with it for my friend who is quite the keen baker. I had the idea to make a recipe box and I also wanted to make a little chalk board for her kitchen.

I covered the edges of the apron in gesso before decorating with paper. I cut a little pocket with an oval die and popped a few pieces from the Kraft Art Kitchenware inside. These are so cute, and perfect for any kitchen or cooking theme. The kraft gives them a lovely vintage look, which I accentuated further on my card by covering them with Crackle Glaze.

To make the chalk board I covered one of the apron's with some black gesso. You can use this like chalkboard paint, you just need to use a damp cloth to erase your chalking. I made a little gift bag to match my set also.

The image on the card is a digi from Saturated Canary called Baker, and I coloured her with my distress ink markers. I love the way she turned out.

Elisabeth Bell - Milly - Little Spring Helper

Well I had an incredibly busy time at work this week and all my plans went slightly awry, so what I planned to make for this week will have to wait another week and instead I have a bit of a quicker make for you using one of the shape art stencils from Dutch Doobadoo. This is the first time I've used one and they're very versatile. I do have to say they would be perfect if you don't have a die cutting machine and I used mine to make a shaped card. It was really rather easy.

I coloured up Milly- Little Spring Helper from Elisabeth Bell at Whimsy Stamps to match these pretty vintage papers.

I coloured her with my Distress Markers using the following colours:
Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap, Victorian Velvet, Bundled Sage and Shabby Shutters.

I think she turned out rather well for a quick make and she really suits the vintage treatment.

I added some lovely butterflies cut with a large butterfly die and 2 smaller co-ordinating ones that come in the Circle with Butterflies die. I finished off with some little pearl beads made with a pearl pen and voila! done and in record time...just in the nick of time for my post today.

The butterfly die looks beautiful when you double it.

The ribbon lace and pink flowers are from The Ribbon Girl, and the Pierced Oval Die and Oval Doily Die are from Dies to Die for

all the following products are from the Noor! Design U.K. Webshop

That's all from me today, but I hope to be back this weekend with the next in my series of Distress Colouring Tutorials.

Happy crafting! :) xx

Cupcake Princess Violet. Noor! Design UK

Hello! I've had such a busy week, still in pain with back and it's my partner's birthday also, so I really don't know which way is up at the moment. So I was very last minute with my project, but I hope you like it.

I've listed all the products I used from the Noor! Design UK shop at the end of my post for you.

I used the very pretty Romance paper pad and I decided to use a lovely Mo Manning digi called Cupcake Princess Violet, that I've had in a folder for ages, just waiting on the right project, I coloured her simply with my distress ink markers.

Colours used: Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Victorian Velvet, Hickory Smoke.

I had another play with the No End Border Dies and thought they'd be perfect for a 'magic' card, so I made a quick one.
The image was quite a small one, so I fussy cut her and mounted her on the Circle with Butterflies, such a pretty die. I kept the embellishing pretty simple, just some glitter and pearls and layered in some cheesecloth. The sentiment is from the Paper Art Valentine set. Finally I added some touched of Gesso to help shabby her up a little.

That's all from me for now, see you soon! :) xx

My Valentine - Noor GDT

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's nearly the end of another busy week for me and one during which I've been fighting off a cold (it hasn't got me yet!) and it's been bitterly cold here too.

So it's lovely to get home in the warm and craft.

Recently I was contacted by the uber talented Tracy of Crafteezee fame, (I'm sure you're familiar with her gorgeous work), to ask me if I'd do a guest spot on her Noor UK design team. Of course I said yes, so I've been having a play with some fabulous goodies.

I loved this paper pad, the colours in it are right up my street and I love the post marks, which I thought fitted in well with this Paper Art stamp.
I had the perfect image to go with it too, this is My Valentine from Saturated Canary, this is included in the Buncha Digis set. With that envelope in her hand she was an easy choice to fit my theme.
I coloured her with my distress ink markers in tones that harmonised with my papers.

I cut my card and layers with these great edge dies (so many uses), inked all my edges and distressed my straight edges.

Love these butterfly dies which I teamed up with some Tim Holtz Pen Nibs, to continue my whole love letter theme.

I added some cheesecloth, pearls and flowers.

Finally I added lashings of Gesso and voila!
