November Kit Club - La-La Land Crafts

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm feeling far less stressed this week, though with 7 cards to try to make/post this week I may change my mind by the weekend lol!

Anyway I'm here with my take on the November Kit Club from La-La Land Crafts.

You can find full information about the club here.

I really love this set and honestly I'm not entirely sure I did it justice, I had lots of ideas but as you know the last few weeks were hard for me and my Mojo ran away. But I hope you like what I make and do be sure to check out all the rest of the makes by the DT on the Blog, because they really have done some amazing work with this kit.

I tried something completely new for me and made a mini album. I enjoyed this so much it's definitely something I'd like to try my hand at more and some more complex ones, I just need to find the time.

Copics Used:
Skin:E13, E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair: E40. E42, E44
Clothing: BG72, BG75, BG18, YR21, YR23, YR24, R35, R37, R59

Here's a look at a few of the pages.

Now I have to admit that I had plans to make a 2nd mini album in a different style, but time and mojo ran away over the last week or so, so I ended up going with a card instead. For once I went with distress inks markers in bright rather than muted tones. I added hints of pink and streaks of glitter to her hair for fun, but it's a little hard to make out in the photo.

Distress Ink Markers Used:
Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Spun Sugar
Hair: Spun Sugar
Clothing and camera: Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Broken China, Pumice Stone.

La-La Land Crafts - October Kit Club DT Post

Happy Tuesday everyone! Well I hope it will be, Monday wasn't so great as it took me 2 hours to get home from work last night due to roadworks, that's crazy, I'm hoping that today won't be the same.

It's time for me to showcase the October La-La Lands Kit.  I really do think this is the best one so far! BUT if you haven't signed up for the club and you missed out on this one, do sign up quick, because the next is even better! You can find full details of the Club here.

But on with today's makes. I made 2 Christmas cards in very different styles.

For the first I went for very bright non traditional colours for a very modern feel, and I coloured Chickadee Marci with my Copics
Skin: E11, E21, E00. E000, R20, E04
Hair E30, E31, E33, E35, E37
Clothes: RV10, RV19, RV66, RV66, YG00, YG03, YG06, YG63
Bird: E33, E35, E37, R20, R00

Papers are by Whimsy, Merry and Bright. I used the snowflake border around the oval frame and lots of the tiny and small snowflakes cut with the dies in the kit.

Love this ribbon and the button.

I popped some of the pine branch die cuts under the flowers.  Lots of goodies used from The Ribbon Girl
38 mm Fuschia Pink/White Spot Organza Ribbon
Snowflake Wodden Button
55 mm Monique White Guipure Lace
White Chrysanth
White Semi Open Rose Bud

For my second card I went to the other end of the scale, I coloured Marci in black and white with just a touch of blue for her cheeks, her ear muffs, her boot cuffs and the breast on the bird.
The card is in blue and white for a lovely 'frozen' appearance.

This time I used distress inks in Black Soot and Weathered Wood.

The papers were some older Pion Christmas papers I had lurking in on of my paper drawers.

Both cards are available to buy in my Etsy shop

ETSY

Well that's all from me today, I hope my makes have inspired you and shown you how it's possible to create very different styles with the same kit.

Have fun! :) xx

September Kit Club at La-La Land Crafts

Happy Tuesday folks! The September Club kit should be winging it's way to people right now with it's exclusive stamps and dies.  If you don't know about the new Club, you can find more information here.

This month's kit is super cute and contains a rubber stamp of  Marci dressed up in a cat costume with some great Autumnal/Halloween themed rubber stamps and dies.

For my first project I made a cute Autumn card, using all the dies from the kit except for the banner.

I sat Marci on some of the branch die cuts, and added a bunch of leaves to the flowers and berries I used.  Love these papers from Maja Design, one of my all time favourite collections.
I do love these leaf dies, I used a shaping tool and my foam piercing mat to shape them and give them dimension, I think they look so cool like this.

For my second project I made a little gift bag for some Halloween treats, and used the Banner die, the leaf dies again and the grouped pumpkin stamp....oh and Marci of course!

The lovely papers are from Authentiqe.  Here you can see the dimension of those leaves and pumpkins that have been shaped.

We have lots of make for you to look at today, with 3 more of the DT showcasing their makes over on the La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Blog, so do check them out.  If you've ordered your kit we would LOVE to see you share your makes over on our Facebook Group.

If you didn't sign up in time for September's kit, you still have plenty of time to sign up for the next one, and I can tell you it's really good....but more than that I can't say, because it's a surprise!

Well that's all from me today, but I'll be back on Friday with my ACR and D2D4 makes, it's a busy, busy week! :) xx

New Kit Club at La-La Land Crafts

Happy Tuesday everyone!  This is my first ever post for the first ever La-La Land Crafts Club kit release.
If you don't know what the club is hop over here where all will be explained.  I'm super excited to have the chance to work with the club kits, honestly they're fantastic! All the stamps and dies are exclusive to the Club and won't be generally available until a year after the kit release.

This is August's kit and sadly you won't be able to get this one now if you haven't already subscribed, but you can still sign up in time for September's kit and it's going to be just as exciting.

For those of  you who were lucky enough to sign up for this one I have a couple of projects to share today by way of inspiration and for those of you not signed up yet, this will give you an idea of the type of items you'll receive and what you can do with them. Be warned this post contains photos of 2 projects, so it's pretty photo heavy!

So for my first project, I coloured up Marci in distress inks.

All the images and dies used on both projects come in the kit, apart from the large dies used to shape the cards.
Ribbon and lace are from The Ribbon Girl and the papers are from a LotV 8 x 8 pad Beach Bliss.
The gorgeous sparkly starfish is from The Handcrafted Card Company and the seashells are from Live and Love Crafts.

I've popped the distress ink colours I used below for you.

Distress Inks
Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye
Hair Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Peacock Feathers, Old Paper
Tail and Top: Peacock Feathers, Old Paper, Antique Linen, Brushed Cordroy, Black Soot, Walnut Stain
Shell: Antique Linen, Old Paper, Peacock Feathers, Tattered Rose, Aged Mahogony

For my second project  I went for a completely different style and coloured Sitting Mermaid Marci with my Copics, this is my first try at doing this kind of stylised colouring, making Marci look like she has some scales, I'm pretty chuffed with the way it turned out.
I have just realised the on the lower 3 pics I took the tag out with the bow attached, intending to photograph it with the card so that you can see it and I completely forgot to put it in the photos!  It's cut out from the Pion Design Shoreline Treasures collection Tags sheet and has a seashell on it.
I thought the paper was perfect for this card and even used a piece to decorate the inside to match.

I've listed the Copic colours I used here:

Copics
Skin: E11, E21, E00, E000, B000, B91, B95, B99, G000, YG95
Hair and Tail: G000, B000, B99, B97, B95, B93, B91, YG99, YG95, YG91
Shells and Flowers: E40, E42, E44, R000, R11, R22

Well that's all from me, hopefully I'll be back on Friday with my posts for Dies to Die for and A Creative Romance, but this cold I've been suffering with has struck me down with conjunctivitis also, so I'm very behind with my makes as it's slow going, hopefully I'll get finished in time.

Don't forget to pop over to the blog to see all the rest of my teamies makes. they are truly stunning and remember La-La Land Crafts also have a Facebook Page HERE and La-La Lands Facebook Group HERE. We love seeing your amazing creations using La-La Land Stamps and Dies too.
