A Breath of Summer

Afternoon all, I'm runing so late this week...what a week it's been, but being the kind of week it's been, I don't have the time to tell you about it!

Anyway, we have a new theme over at Deep Ocean Challenge Blog and it's

Metal or Wood.

I must admit that I've cheesed this one slightly. because I've actually used chipboard and not wood, but it looks like wood so shhhhh.

I had a play with gesso, stencils, embossing paste and all sorts on this card, it was such fun.

One of Kay Fatuala's beautiful butterflies was the perfect finishing touch for this card.

We're sponsored by

Divine Tilda - New Challenge at Deep Ocean Challenge

Hello to my lovely followers old and new. I hope this week is treating you well.
We have a new challenge up over at Deep Ocean Challenge Blog, and this time the theme is
Lovely Lace.

Super easy right?

Today I've pulled out one of my Magnolia stamps, its been a while since I coloured one up.
This is Divine Tilda, and as well as using lace on my card, I thought that her little dress and hair bows looked kind of lacy too.

I coloured her with my distress ink markers to match this lush paper from the Maja Design
'Enjoying Outdoors' Collection. Lot's of lovely purples and magentas in this collection.

I used the following colours:
Vintage Photo, Victorian Velvet, Antique Linen, Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord & Walnut Stain.
I added lashings of Wink of Stella to her dress and hair bows but I just could not get the camera to pick up the sparkle.

I added a couple of beautiful butterflies from Karla's Kreative Korner, love these!

and lots of lovely embellies from the Ribbon Girl.

I do hope you can join in with our challenge, and don't forget to stop by the blog for the rest of the fab makes from the team!

Have a great week! :) xx

Elisabeth Bell - Christmas Bells

Merry Christmas everyone!

Firstly I would like to wish all my followers new and old, a very merry Christmas and I hope you have had a wonderful day!

I'm spending a quiet Christmas day with my partner, but seeing family tomorrow, so I'll be having the big Christmas meal then.

Well it may be Christmas, but it's business as usual over on the Digi Bells Challenge Blog and the theme this time is 'Winter Wonderland'.  Well I must admit that when I made this card I had 'Christmas' firmly in my head rather then 'Winter', and made my card with alternative Christmas colours that are actually quite 'hot' and not overly wintery lol. But lucyly I added plenty of frantage to create a snowy effect and I think that just about saves it hehe.

Anyway this is the card I made.

I used the gorgeous Christmas Bells , this is available from Elisabeth's website by clicking on the link. I coloured her with my distress inks and chose some lovely bright colours to match my chosen papers. I used the following markers:
Vintage Photo, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Victorian Velvet, Brushed Corduroy, Antique Linen

I paired her with some Whimsy Papers that I've had in my stash for a while now, I've lost the front of the pack so I can't actually remember what this pack was called.  I also used some bright pink cardstock and embossed it with a Winter embossing folder I had.....and then of course being me I promptly hid most of the embossing with embellishments .....sigh.

I added flowers from my stash and charms and ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.
I also added one of Kay Fatula's beautiful butterflies because the colours matched perfectly.

I do hope you can join in with our challenge.

That's all from me today, I'm off to enjoy the rest of my Christmas Day!

Christmas Hugs :) xx

Saturated Canary - Makeup Time

Hi everyone! It's the 2nd Sunday in the month and that means that it's time for a new challenge over on the Ribbon Girls Blog.

You can make anything for the challenge, it doesn't have to be a card, but you must use an image on it.

I've used one of the new digi images from Saturated  Canary, I just love Krista's work.
She's called Makeup Time and I've linked her and all my products below.

I coloured her with my Distress Ink markers and matched her to some beautiful papers from Maja. I'm very sad to say that these are the last of the sheets of this design I had in my stash ...sigh

I added some beautiful velvet ribbon, pearl trim and flowers.

Just love Kay Fatula's stunning butterflies for accents.

For once I managed not to totally cover the pretty lace I used! Yay!

Ivory 20 mm Open Rose
Pink Gutterman Top Stitch Thread

The fabulous butterflies are of course from Kay Fatula's Etsy store here

We are sponsored by our friends at Lili Of The Valley who are giving a prize of a stamp of your choice and The Ribbon Girl who are giving a £10 voucher

I hope you can join us! :) xx

I thought I'd enter her into the challenge over at Fab 'n' Funky Challenges as this week it's Sassy Ladies and I thought that was rather appropriate for this image.

Goldie Locks at Dies to Die for

Morning folks! It's Tuesday and that means I'm here with my inspiration post for Dies to Die for.  I'm very late getting finished and barely have any time so this will be a brief post with no drivel from me lol.

This week I coloured up an older Elisabeth Bell stamp called Goldie Locks.  Tracy has these older ones on sale in the shop, so it's worth having a look and picking up a bargain.

I used the lovely A Day in May collection of papers by Pion Design and coloured her with distress inks. The card is lovely and subtle but sadly it's looking a little washed out in the photos. I've distressed, inked and stitched all my papers.

I popped a Heart Doily from La-La Land Crafts behind her . On the other side is a little stack of banners cut with MFT's Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax.  I dotted a few of MME's Dots, these are Necessities - Wood and they really do look like wood, sooooo cute.

I popped a few Prima roses to give it a little pop of colour. I also added some satin ribbon and some white lace from The Ribbon Girl and a beautiful butterfly made by Kay Fatula  of Kays Kreative Korner

Well that's all from me this week, this humid weather is really knocking my mojo recently, but I'll be back on Friday to share some more inspiration.  Stay cool and have fun! : ) x x
