Wee Stamps - Iris

Hello! It's quite a mixed up sort of week for me this week, not helped by our beautiful British weather....yup...sunshine and hailstorms lol. There's a reason we Brits are eccentric, we like to match our surroundings lol.

Anyhooooooo........on with my share for today and like many of my other recent cards, you may have already seen this one in the Whimsy Stamps online magazine. If you haven't already done so, do check it out, it's chock full of inspiration and it's free!

This is a slightly older stamp from Whimsy's Wee Stamps collection, she's called Iris, isn't she lovely?
I decided to colour her in shades of grey to complement these rather fabulous butterflies from Kay Fatula's shop. I also knew I wanted to give her a blush of colour just to add a little interest and I had these beautiful Maja papers in my stash that just went perfectly.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps too, it's from the Fairy Tale Dreams set, this set is retiring, so grab it while you can!

I finished off with some glamour dust, some Prima bling, and the following gorgeous flowers from The Ribbon Girl

32 mm Francesca Black Lace
Siam Pink Seam Binding
Cheesecloth
20 mm Pale Pink Open Rose
Chrysanth White Kurt and Gort
Pink Sweetheart Blossom
White Sweetheart Blossom
Starburst Stamen White
Oval Clear Diamante Embellishment

I hope you like it, TTFN! :) xx

Wedding Day

Hi everyone, I'm popping in today with a quick share.

My daughter is going to a wedding later in the year and wanted a nice wedding card for the Bride and Groom. Since I enjoyed making the last non stamped wedding card so much, I thought I'd try my hand at another. I used my Whimsy Stitched Border Trio dies to cut the papers, distressed the edges and inked them with walnut stain distress ink. Then I edged them with some rose organza ribbon. I made a little bridal bouquet in the top left corner and balanced that with a large pearl and diamante embellishment on the bottom right.

A simple stamped sentiment from LotV and a few scattered pearls and gems finished it off.

I used the following embellishments from
The Ribbon Girl:

Pearl and Crystal Branch Ivory
S/A Ivory Pearl Hearts
3 - 6 mm S/A Ivory Pearls
5 mm Clear S/A Gems

I'm entering the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge #153
Jade's Sparkling Butterflies #17
Time Out Challenge #55
Crafty Creations #313

That's all from me today, but it's almost the weekend, so I'll be back with you soon! :) xx

Lee Holland - Elephant with Flower for Deep Ocean Challenge

Hi everyone! I hope your week is going well.
Welcome to a new challenge over at Deep Ocean Challenge, this time we would like to see your makes with Dots and/or Stripes. Easy right? Your project can be anything, it just needs to have spots or stripes (or both) visible somewhere on your make.

I used both for mine, I have striped design paper and spotty ribbon, plus some added 'extra' with these enamel dots.

For my card today (it's CAS again, don't faint!), I used this adorable Lee Holland image from Whimsy Stamps, isn't he adorable?

I just love colouring up these cute animals in unusual colours, and I chose lilac (my fav as your know) and pink today and made his huge flower a lovely bright pink. I have to admit that for once I coloured the image before picking out my papers, but that's quite rare for me.
He's coloured with distress ink markers in the following colours:

Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Picked Raspberry and Pumice Stone. (I'm afraid I can't remember which green I used, it may have been Shabby Shutters).

I stamped out my sentiment on some white card and then cut it into sections and popped them up on some foam tape. This was initially because I couldn't get the sentiment to fit on the frame as it was, without it being partially obscured by the Ellie, but I rather like the look of how it turned out.

We would love to see you join in with our challenge,

you can win this great prize

A €10 Gift Certificate to Craft Heaven Shop

thank you Tina Makuc for sponsoring us!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Chocolate, coffee and cards - Stripes and Polka Dots
Alphabet Challenge - D is for Dots

Don't forget to pop across to the blog to check out the rest of the DT inspiration :) xx

Whimsy April Release Final Day - Elephant with Butterflies

Hi everyone! Well it's my 3rd post in 3 days, very unlike me, but honestly I was just blown away by this release.
You've probably already spotted my card for today, as it's been used as one of the banners for the new release, but I thought I would show you in more detail and share how I made it..

I just couldn't resist this cute little Elephant with Butterflies from Whimsy's Lee Holland collection. Isn't it sweet? So sweet that I thought it would make the perfect baby card. I think this would pass for a baby boy or girl and for a new arrival or a 1st birthday. Of course you could always colour the elephant in pink with matching papers if you wanted something more girly.

I stamped my image with Versafine Ink in Black Onyx onto Langton Hot Pressed Watercolour paper (140 lbs) and coloured it with my distress ink markers in Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Spiced Pumpkin, Crushed Olive, and Mowed Lawn, and cut out the shape with an oval die.

I cut a card base from plain white cardstock and then used the largest of the
from Whimsy, to cut out my design papers.

I added a little narrow spotted organza ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and cut a little lacy border with a Martha Stuart punch.

I added a few little fishtail banners under the border and cut a few tiny butterflies from some paper scraps with a memory box die.

I didn't edge anything with ink this time as I wanted to keep it very clean and fresh looking. I did add a little wink of stella to the butterfly wings, but once again I didn't manage to catch it on camera.

That's all from me today, but I'll be back on Sunday with a new challenge from The Ribbon Girls. Don't forget to check out the rest of the team's gorgeous makes here before you go and enter the great giveaway!

I'm adding this card to the following challenges:

Paper Creator Challenge #46
Simon Says Stamp - Let's Do the Polka
Have fun!! :) xx

Whimsy April Release Day 2 - Oceanna

Hi everyone, I'm back again with day 2 of Whimsy Stamps' April release and this time I made a card with this uber pretty mermaid called Oceanna from the Art by MiRan collection . Oh I had soooooo much fun making this.

I have to confess that I really love my make here, love that 2 tone tail and her hair.I coloured her with my distress ink markers, and I've listed the colours below for you.

Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Twisted Citron, , Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord

I used some old papers from my stash, I thought the colours and patterns were just perfect.

I cut a little mound to sit her on using one of the dies from Whimsy's Stitched Border Die Trio. I added some little sea creatures too.
.

I added lots of Wink of Stella to the mermaid's tail and the sea horses, and I finally managed (with much twisting and turning of card, lights and camera), to pick up some of the sparkle in a photo!

Finally I added the following embellishments from The Ribbon Girl.

I'm adding this card to the following challenges:

Pennys Challenge  #273

Sugar Nellie - A Little Bit of Gossip

Hiya! Hope you are all off to a good start with your weekend.  I'm swinging in for a quick share with a card I made for one of my team at work, who asked if I could make a card for a 3 year old who loves fairies.

As you know it's not often that I take on commissions, but I do if they fit in with what I like to create and this one was perfect for me so I said yes.

This is the card I made. The image is from Sugar Nellie, it's called A Little Bit of Gossip. I have a lot of fairy stamps and images, but their delicate little fairies seemed perfect for a 3 year old and she really suited distress ink colouring too I think.

I used some lovely papers from Lili of the Valley that I had in my drawer, and coloured her to coordinate with them, keeping my colouring very soft and delicate in keeping with the image.

Colours Used: Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Cracked Pistachio, Shaded Lilac, Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss, Fossilized Amber, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Festive Berries.

I added Wink of Stella to the fairy's wings as well as the letters of the name and the wings of the butterflies, but as usual I could not get the camera to pick up the lovely sparkle, you can just about spot it on the butterfly wings on the pick below (bottom right corner).

I finished off with some lovely embellishments from The Ribbon Girl

I'm entering this card into the following challenge/s

Right that's all from me, time for coffee I think!

Enjoy your weekend :) xx

Wee Stamps - Cindy

Morning everyone! A quick one from me as I'm running late and flying in and out quickly while I slurp a coffee at work.

I'm sharing a card I made for Deep Ocean Challenge's new challenge this week, which is
Spring.
I love spring don't you? and what could be more spring like than faeries?

I just love this little fairy Cindy, she's one of Whimsy Stamps new releases for March and drawn by the wonderful artist Sylvia Zet. I also used Whimsy's Lace Doily Mini Corner Die

This card was actually the cover girl for Whimsy's new magazine, I was soooooo chuffed I was beaming from ear to ear :)

I coloured her as usual with my distress ink markers and since she's carrying a letter I thought I would theme my card around that a little, using this gorgeous Lemoncraft Paper called Old Letters, popping her on an MFT Postage Stamp Die and using a Kaisercraft Postage texture stamp around the edges.

The papers are from The Ribbon Girl, and I also added lots of yummy embellishments from them too.

3 mm Mixed Pearls Sea Charm

This card is for sale in my Etsy store, just follow the link below.

That' all from me, but don't forget to check out the rest of the team's beautiful spring creations, and  I hope you'll join in with our challenge! :) xx

Lee Holland - Elephant with Bouquet

Hi everyone. I have another CAS card to share with you today. This one is using the super sweet
Elephant with Bouquet
from Whimsy Stamps. I love Lee Hollands' animals, they are all so cute!
This card was featured in the new Whimsy Inspired e-Magazine. If you haven't checked it out, you really should, 50 pages of lushness and it's completely free!

First of all I stamped my image onto some water colour paper, this particular paper was a new try for me, but I wasn't happy with the way it took the inks so I won't be using it again, therefore I'm not listing it. I have another new one to try out in coming weeks so we'll see how that goes. I'm quite happy with my regular watercolour papers, but I like to try out new things now and then.

After colouring my image in with my distress ink markers, I cut it out with the largest die of Whimsy's new
Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles
and then shaped the bottom with the stitched curve die from the
Stitched Border Die Trio

If you're in the UK you can get this stamp and dies at Dies to Die for.

I cut out half of a rectangle out of a scrap of lime green design paper, and stamped the sentiment, (this is from an older whimsy set that's not available any more), with the same die I used for my image, sliding it underneath and filling in the missing part to make a full rectangle again, and mounted them both on a slightly larger rectangle of bright pink cardstock.

I mounted the whole thing with some adhesive foam tape on a a card base made with some plain white cardstock and measuring a quarter of an inch bigger than my pink cardstock.

Since this was a CAS card I embellished very simply with a few enamel dots I had in my stash and a little Wink of Stella on the butterfly wings (which of course doesn't show up in my photograph!).

I hope you liked my make for today, I'll be back later in the week with something in my usual style.

Happy crafting! :) xx

Ruby Wedding Card

Hello everyone! I hope everyone has had a good week. It's Friday again and for me that means the weekend approaching and some time to craft. Today I'm sharing some Ribbon Girl inspiration and this is a card that I made some time ago for a friend who wanted a card for her parents Ruby Wedding.

I made a little card with a 'patchwork' background, and used lots of flowers, some La-La Land craft dies and some gorgeous butterflies from The Kreative Korner.

She loved it and I hope her parents do too.
