From Graceland to La-La Land

Good morning!! I hope you're all feeling great this Monday morning, I had a fabulous weekend and totally recharged my batteries, so I'm feeling great, in spite of making 5 cards in 4 days lol.

This is the 2nd of those 5 cards and as you could probably guess it's my GDT make for La-La Land Crafts.
This week our theme is Monochromatic and I knew exactly what I wanted to make.  I must admit though that all the ideas in my head wouldn't fit on one card, so I had to change my idea a bit on the fly.

Ever since Singing Luca was released I've thought that he looked like a little Elvis, and in my stash I had a sheet of paper with some antique style black & white photos, one of which was Elvis Presley, the fact that the photo was B & W and the theme was monochromatic just made it obvious to me which stamp I should use.
I used the following La -La Land Craft items:

I used a mix of leftover design papers from different packs, and some black and white cardstock.
All layers have been inked with Black Soot distress ink and then hand stitched with top stitch thread.

I used the following Copics to colour Singing Luka.

Copics:
W9, W7, W5, W3, W1, W0

The little scrabble tiles are a stamp set by Whimsy Stamps. The film strip is by Tim Holtz, I can't remember where I got it now, it was quite expensive, but good value because you get load and don't really need to use very much on a project. I added lots of black stickles to the stars on Luca's outfit and used little dots of glue sprinkled with Glamour Dust to look like rhinestones and sequins. I added the Filigree Crown Die to the picture of Elvis...after all he is 'The King' :P

The butterfly is by Kay Fatula, she has an Etsy shop where you can buy these. The Treble Clef and notes just finished the whole theme off nicely.

Well that's all from me today, do pop across to the blog to check out the wonderful designs by the rest of the team, and don't forget that we have a Facebook group where you can share your creations with us.

I'll be back later today with an extra special post!

Have fun : ) x x
