200 Follower Inktense Blog Candy

Evening all, it got pretty late with all my sorting and packing, but I managed to sort my little thank you blog candy before I left.

So what am I giving away?

You may have read my recent posts about finding a wonderful new (for me) colouring medium.  Well I thought it would be nice to share the love.  So I'm offering one of the starter packs that are sold by Lili of the Valley, with Dena's favourite colours.  These are enough to get you started and will cover most of the basic colours you need.  I'm also throwing in an 7" x 5" Watercolour pad, so you have something to use them on.

The colours are as follows:

Carmine Pink
Oak
Deep Indigo
Sepia Ink
Light Olive
Field Green
Beech Green
Baked Earth
Amber
Teal Green
Red Violet
Chili Red
Saddle Brown
Bark
Neutral Grey

As this is a thank you to my followers it's open to followers only, but it is open to old and new followers.

So all you have to do is......

  • Be or become a follower
  • Add your name to the linky below
  • Put the picture in your side bar with a link back to this page (if you don't know how to do this you can find a simple to follow tutorial here)
and that's it.  The candy will run until the 29th of June, when my blog is a year old and I'll be announcing a special candy.  I'll ship worldwide, but the winner will be responsible if there are any customs charges their end.

Well that's all from me for a bit, will see you in just over a week, have fun crafting! : ) x x

200 Followers Happy Dance!

Good morning everyone!  I'm just nipping on here quick in between packing my suitcase and noticed I'd hit 200 followers (does the happy happy dance...trips over suitcase) so I'm just popping on with a post to say thank you so much, when I first started blogging I never believed that I'd even get 1 follower, let alone 200.

So as a small thank you I'm going to have a little blog candy, I'll get that sorted today before I leave, just need to finish my packing and stuff first.  It's just going to be a smallish candy, and then when I get back from my parents I'll be getting ready for my big Blogversary Candy as my blog is 1 year old on the 29th June. So strange to think I've been blogging for almost a year, it really doesn't seem that long and it's been a fun packed and exciting year indeed.

Right, I'm off to pack some more stuff, thank you once again and I'll see you here later with my thank you candy.

Have fun! : ) x x

Daphne at Dies to Die for

Happy Tuesday all! I'm here with my Tuesday inspiration post for Dies to Die for.  It's back to work for me today so this post is scheduled, but I only have today and tomorrow in work and then I have a few days off as I'm visiting my parents.  This does mean no more cards from me for a week and a half as I won't be crafting (though I will be colouring images while I'm away) but I'll try and get my Blog Candy sorted before I go.

Anyway on to my project for today.  It's a card using the adorable Daphne by the talented Artist Sylvia Zet, love her images. I paired her with a gorgeous papers from MME.  I've listed all the items used from the shop at the end of my post, with links to take you straight to them.

I coloured Daphne up in Copics to match the papers, and cut an aperture in my paper with a Stax die to frame her. I inked all the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink and sewed them with top stitch thread.

I added some glitter to her wings and doted her with some liquid pearls in white opal.

I added a lovely bow cut with a Die-namics die and used a piece of a Prima embellishment in the top corner. I added a bit more Prima bling to the bow and a couple of corners.

I used a co-ordinating sheet of paper from the same pad to decorate the inside of the card, and added some plain white card cut with one of the stax dies.

Items Used

Well that's all from me for today, I'll see you again in 2 weeks time with some more inspiration to share.

Take care! : ) x x

Ladybug Marci at La-La Lands Crafts

Good morning everyone! If you're in the UK I hope you're enjoying this holiday Monday. As it's Monday that means I'm here with my GDT post for La-La Land Crafts.
This week our theme is 'Fun Folds' and originally I was going to go with my old favourite the 'Magic' card, but I thought I'd challenge myself to something a little different and was toying with the idea of a Tri Shutter and a couple of others, but of course by the time I got around to making it, my teamies had those covered.  So I settled on a Gatefold Joyfold card, which as the name suggests is a mix of a gatefold and a joyfold card.

I used the following La-La Land Crafts products for my card.
Open Leaf Flourish Die

In the UK you can get all the above from
Dies to Die for

This was a pretty difficult project to photograph so I took lots lol!

This is what the front of the card looks like. I coloured Marci with Derwent Inktense pencils and also a couple of their watercolour pencils for her skin and popped her up on some foam.

Skin:1800,& watercolour: 17, 18

Outfit:0520, 0530, 0600, 1230, 1300, 2100, 2120

Hair: 1710, 1720, 1900, 0520, 0530

I used some flowers and seam binding from The Ribbon Girls.  The bling is Prima Mini Swirls.

All the gorgeous papers used are from the same 6 x 6 pad by Authentique, this one is called Flourish, love the bright colours and the fact that there are solid papers to match the patterns.  I also used some Bazill  in Chablis

All the papers have been edged with DI in Pumice Stone and hand stitched with coloured top stitch thread...this took me soooo long lol.

Finally here's a side view of the layers when the card is closed.

Do pop over to the blog to see the rest of Team Monday's makes, there's a ton of inspiration to be found there, and lots of different types of folded card, you're bound to find something you like.

Well that's all from me today, I'm back to work tomorrow, but I'll be here with my scheduled post for Dies to Die for.

I'm entering the following challenges:
Come and Get It-Lots of Layers

As I'm off to my parents at the end of this week and won't have access to my craft room, I won't have a Monday (or Tuesday) post for you next week, but keep your eye out for some Candy from me.  I will be taking my colouring pencils though as they're nice and portable, and some stamped images to colour up, so I'll have plenty to turn into cards when I return, and since I'm not crafting and blogging for a few days, that gives me plenty of time to catch up on all your blogs and Facebook shares as I'll be taking my iPad with me

 See you tomorrow :) xx

Tilda in Lace Pants for Totally Tilda

Good Morning and happy Sunday!  If you're in the UK I hope you're enjoying your bank holiday weekend too, though I hope you're having better weather than me, torrential rain and freezing cold yesterday, I had to resort to putting the heat on and there's only one week till June! Still, at least I did manage to get some crafting done.

I'm here today with my DT post for the new challenge over at Totally Tilda, and this time we want to see Black. White and one other Colour.  You can of course use normal skin tones as well, so really a pretty easy one this week.

I've had this gorgeous paper in my stash for a while just waiting for this challenge as I thought it was perfect. One of the pages from the pack has a lovely lace pattern, so I thought I'd colour up Tilda in Lace Pants from the newest Magnolia collection and paper piece her 'Pants', it always makes me giggle a little when I see trousers called pants, cos here in the UK pants are underwear, so lace pants to me would be something pretty from Aubade lol.

The paper pad I used  is Elegant from Authentique and I used quite an ornate die Palace Oval Frame from Memory Box to mount her on. All layers have been distress with Black Soot DI and hand stitched with top stitch thread.

I coloured her up with my copics, I'm sorry I don't have the exact colours noted, but they would have been the Ws and the BGs and my go to skin colours which you can find on any of my posts with Copic colouring.

Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and The Ribbon Girl.  The bow is made from satin ribbon also from The Ribbon Girl and the beautiful cameo is from The Handcrafted Card Company. The gems were clear, I coloured them to match the paper/image with my Copics, I love that you can do this.

Isn't this butterfly gorgeous?  They're handmade by a lady called Kay Fatula and come all the way from the US.  You can find them in her Etsy shop here, she's lovely, do drop by her Facebook page too and give that a like if you're on FB.

Finally I decorated the inside to complement the front (or and for those people who told me I spelled complement incorrectly and it should be compliment,  compliment is when you express admiration or praise, complement is when something enhances or improves the overall effect. If you're interested in grammar....and yes I can be a grammar nazi lol.....you can check it out in the Oxford Dictionaries blog here. I love language it can be so interesting....but also so confusing he he)
I'm entering the following challenges:

Magnolia Mania - #91 Paper Piecing
Addicted to Stamps #83 Bingo (lace, metal (the cameo setting), flowers

This card is for sale in my Etsy shop .

I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday (and bank holiday weekend if you're in the UK) I'll be back on Monday with my post for La-La Land Crafts and in the meantime go check out the rest of the team's creations, here they're flippin' gorgeous!

Bye for now! : ) x x

Charmings at Dies to Die for

Happy Tuesday folks!  I'm back to day with my inspiration post for Dies to Die for and this time I have a different colouring medium to show you.

On Saturday 10th May I went to Lili of the Valley's Birthday Party, and amongst the people demoing there was Dena, from Dena's Stamping Corner and she was showing how she used Inktense pencils.  Now I've used watercolour pencils before...well a loooong time ago now, before i even started crafting, when I used to do art lol, but these babies are different.  Because they aren't watercolour paint, they're ink...and you might think, well how do they differ from distress ink, well for one while they are ink and do turn from pencil to ink by adding water...they aren't exactly a watercolour ink.

What this means is that when they dry, they're permanent, if you wet them again they stay put. Also while they're delicate and translucent, just like distress ink, they have the most beautiful bright and luminous colours, very intense  colours and hence the name.

Anyway, I've been having a bit of a play with them and coloured up this Saturated Canary stamp by Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  This stamp was actually a present from my DT chum Jenny for my birthday, but Tracy stocks her in the store, she's called Charmings.  I've added links to items used at the end of my post, but because Inlinkz want's to charge me a fortune to carry on using them, they're just standard links now, no pretty pictures sorry.

I don't think she came out half bad!
Skin: Baked Earth, Carmine Pink
Hair: Violet
Clothes: Violet, Antique White, Hooker's Green, Thistle

I paired her up with these gorgeous Whimsy papers I've had in my drawer for some time, just waiting for the right card to use them on.

I used a lovely Whimsy sentiment and die that I thought went perfectly on this card and I finished it off with a little Prima bling.  The lace and daisies are from The Ribbon Girl.

Most of the flowers here are Wild Orchid Craft and of course I've stitched all my papers with top stitch thread.  I inked the edges with Distress Ink in dusty concord.

The fabulous butterfly is handmade by a talented lady called Karla and bought from her little Etsy shop, https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/KarlasKreativeKorner I thought it set these papers off really well.

Finally I decorated the inside of the card with some more papers from the pack to complement the front.

Items used:

Well that's all from me today, I'll be back again on Sunday with my Totally Tilda post, but I'll pop in before that with a little Candy post.  In the meantime, why not try something new?
Have fun! : ) x x

Telephone Marci at La-La Land Crafts

Morning crafters!  It's Monday again, my goodness the weeks seem to whizz by and of course the weekends go even quicker don't they?  It was a hot and sticky weekend here, so I didn't get tons of crafting done, it was just too sticky, but luckily for me I made this card last week for a friend who was leaving our department (though she's still working in the hospital and will be just a corridor or so away from where my new office is, which is nice :)

Anyway....our theme at La-La Land this week is Twine/String, so we needed to incorporate twine or string somewhere on our project.  Now I'll say straight away that I don't use an awful lot of the stuff.  I have it in a few colours, but I'm really not very adventurous with it, and the same holds true for my card today lol!

I used the following items from La-La Land Crafts

Here's what I made

Now unfortunately I don't have many 'office' themed bits.  I did have these lovely Prima papers Stationer's Desk and so I went with an old fasioned office feel.  I used the Steampunk Border  and Corner could pass for typewriter parts, and I had some of these lovely Tim Holtz pen nibs in my stash.  I used one of the Stitched Tabs dies to create 'files' and sat Marci in a Postage Stamp frame.  I stamped one tab with a sentiment from LotV and for the other tab I cut her name with a Memory Box Alphabet die.

I coloured Marci with my Copics:

Copic Colours
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R11
Hair: E11, E13, E15, E19, E08, E09

Oufit and Phone: R35, R46, R59, W9, W7, W5, W2, W0

The black lace, red polka dot ribbon and black button twine are from The Ribbon Girl as are the rolled roses. All other flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also used a crochet lace with velvet ribbon trim

Everything is edged with Black Soot DI and I stitched my layers with Gutterman Top Stitch thread.

The inside I decorated to complement the front.

Well that's all from me for today, do pop along to the blog to look at the rest of the design team's work, they're pretty amazing I can tell you.

Bye for now and I'll see you again tomorrow for my Dies to Die for inspiration post and you can see how I've been playing with Inktense Pencils.

Have fun! : ) x x

Celebration Candy Winner

Good morning everyone!  I hope you're all starting a lovely weekend, the sun is shining here in the UK and I'm looking forward to enjoying a relaxing weekend and some crafting thrown in for good measure.

I've had a delivery this week of some Inktense pencils, after buying a starter set at the Lili of the Valley birthday bash last weekend, I decided I loved them so much I couldn't be without the full set, especially as they're so portable and non messy. So you can expect to see some cards from me in the coming weeks, coloured with this new (for me) medium.  Also because I now have a full set I'll be giving away a starter set of these fabulous pencils as candy, but more of that in another post.  Right now it's time to announce the winner of my current blog candy. Random.org has picked....

....number 34, that's you Cebelica.

Please email me at linda.levoir@gmail.com with your postal address, and I'll get that posted off to you next week.

For those of you who didn't win this time, I will be having more candy in months to come.  I have an Inktense Pencils give away to sort in the next day or so, and then it will fast be approaching my Blogversary on the 29th June, so I'll have a special Candy for that.

Have a great day everyone and happy crafting!! : ) x x

Happily Ever After in May at Dies to Die for.

Good morning everyone and welcome to another of my regular Tuesday inspiration posts for Dies to Die for.

Before I move on to my share for today I'd just like to say sorry for not being very active on your blogs lately, it's been hectic recently, but I'm pulling ahead a little and hope to be able to catch up with you this weekend.  You still have 2 days left to enter my Candy, it ends on the 15th, the link is on my sidebar to the right.

Ok so, it's very rare that I take on commissions, like almost never.  I simply have so much I have to make for DTs and I like to craft for fun after all, trying to also fit into what somebody else wants has a tendency to stop my creative flow right in it's tracks. However, my partner's mother asked me for a couple of wedding cards, I've been thinking about making a couple anyway, I loooove making wedding cards, and she didn't tie me down with specific demands as to putting this or that on it, so I had pretty free reign, I work best like that.

Now ever since I first had the Day in May collection from Pion Design sent to me, I've been wanting to make a wedding card with it, because some of the papers just seem totally made for it, and then I combined it with my most favourite stamp ever from Tiddly Inks (I love it too because you can use it for such a lot, weddings, engagements, anniversaries, valentines etc) and coloured it up with my Copics.

It's not often I totally love one of my creations, I'm picky, and my own worst critic, BUT, I have to say that I totally LOVE how this turned out, I almost don't want to give it away lol.

So I'm not going to waffle any more, I shall just let the pictures do the talking. Links to products can be found at the end of my post.

Well I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, any questions feel free to drop me a comment or an email. That's all from me for today, enjoy your Tuesday and I'll see you again same time next week.
Take care and happy crafting! : ) x x
