Winter Princess at Dies to Die for

Happy Friday everyone! First of all I'd like to say thank you to all the people who sent me messages of concern. I'm so sorry that I've not posted for a while now.  I had some personal stuff going on and some work stuff and health stuff and other stuff all rolled into one and I couldn't even face going into my crafty space to create.  My mojo had been completely squashed by it all. I'm feeling a bit better now and the mojo is slowly coming back, so you should start to see a bit more of me over the next couple of weeks.

Anyway, this is my Dies to Die for DT post for today and as I have a TON of stuff to catch up with I won't waffle on too much but will share pics and the products at the end.

It's also my son's birthday today, 27 years today, now that makes me feel OLD lol!

I'm very happy to be back with you all and I can't wait to catch up with all your makes.

That's all from me for today, but I'll be back on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week and if I can get my act together I may even have a little giveaway for this weekend.

Big hugs,

Little Garden Sally, GDT for Art by Mi Ran

Happy Saturday everyone!. I'm here with my 2nd GDT post for ArtbyMiRan and I thought I'd make something in complete contrast to my other make just to show how versatile these stamps can be.

This is Little Garden Sally, isn't she the sweetest thing?  You can buy her here in Mi Ran's Etsy store here, I just love her to bits.

I went for a very soft and subtle look and coloured her with distress ink markers, I've listed the colours below.  Then I made a bit of a shabby chic card to frame her and I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

Papers used are Vintage Garden by Pion Design, and I used some elements from the sheets to add some interest.  All papers have been inked with Walnut Stain distress ink.

Here's a close up of the stamp.  I just love that sweet little outfit and I decided to give the apron and hair bow some little white polka dots with my Posca pen. I would have added some green Polka dot ribbon to match, but sadly I was all out and I didn't get time to order more in.

Colours used:

Skin - Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Spun Sugar
Hair - Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs
Outfit - Spun Sugar, Peeled Paint
Watering can, grass and background: Pumice stone,  Peeled Paint, Weathered Wood.

I added lots of lovely goodies from the Ribbon Girl which were perfect for this card.

I popped some cheesecloth between my layers to soften them and add to the shabby chic style and added some lovely flowers, and lace, pearls and a watering can charm from my stash.

Some beautiful pink satin ribbon makes a lovely bow and I added this snail button from my stash for a little quirky garden themed touch.

The inside I decorated quite simply with a 6 x 6 piece from the same collection. Finally I added a few touched of Gesso here and there to finish off  the shabby chic feel.

Products used:

White Opal Liquid Pearls

This card is for sale in my Etsy shop, link below

Amber at Dies to Die for

Happy Friday all!  I'm a very happy bunny today for several reasons, firstly I have a few days holiday from work, secondly my beautiful daughter is coming to visit this weekend and finally I absolutely love my card today, it turned out so well!

This is 'Amber', one of the new Saturated Canary collection from Little Darlings Rubber Stamp, isn't she lovely? I just adore her.

I've coloured her up with my Copics today,  I think she would look equally wonderful in Distress Inks, and I will certainly be colouring her in those another time,  but Copics suited this wonderful paper pad 'Ambrosia'  from Bo Bunny perfectly.

I cut her out with my pierced ovals from MFT and then slipped a couple of doilies cut with the Felicity Doily Die from Cheery Lynn. All edges have been inked with Walnut Stain distress ink.

I cut a lot of little butterflies with the Dancing Butterflies die from Memory box, to echo the little butterflies that are fluttering around her in the image. I edged the frame with this lovely TuTu trim in lilac, it's called purple, but it seems much more lilac to me!

This gorgeous bow and bling are from The Ribbon Girl.

Finally I decorated the inside to compliment the front, even adding a few more of those delightful butterflies. I was going to add a sentiment involving butterflies to the front of the card, but in the end there really wasn't enough room lol, but one can always be added to the inside if needed.

Walnut Stain Distress Ink

I added lots of bright and beautiful flowers, plus ribbon lace and bling from my stash including

Cosmos Daisy - Deep Pink
Cosmos Daisy - Purple
Diamante Heart
(I coloured this a bit darker with a Copic marker)
Fuchsia Spot Organza Ribbon
Clementine Vintage Lace
2 mm Flat Back Gems
(coloured with Copics)
5 mm Flat Back Gems
(coloured with Copics)

I hope you like my make for today, I have to admit I'm a little in love with her myself and it was very hard to part with her, but she's already sold to one of my best customers.

I'm back again tomorrow with my GDT post for Art by Mi Ran, and in contrast to today we're going soft and subtle. See you then! :) xx
