Fashionista People's Choice

Good evening folks, I hope you're all keeping warm out of that biting cold if you're in the UK, those down under may wish we could send them a little bit of it as they're sweltering at the mo.

I'm just popping by to tell you that I made the top 5 in the Fashionista challenge, with this card

and the winner is voted by you!   So if you could spare a few moments to pop over and leave a vote that would be cool.

Now mind I am NOT asking you to vote for me, not unless you truly do like my card the best as there is some fabulous work on display, so please do vote with your eyes and choose the one you like best.

On a different note, I've been asked quite a bit recently about how I cut my shaped cards as well as how I've made some of my other cards, so next week (I have some time off work) I'll be working on some tutorials that I'll put on a page here so that you can easily find them when you need to.

Enjoy the rest of your evening/morning/day, depending on your time zone, and I'll be back on Tuesday with my Dies to Die for post and on Thursday with my card for Marvelous Magnolias.

Eliza for Kraftin Kimmie Top Ten Finalists

Recently I used a Kraftin Kimmie stamp for the first time and I loved it, these stamps are so versatile and fit many themes and they are such a joy to colour. Anyway, looking on their blog I found a fun theme to follow for a challenge and was inspired to make a card and then looking through the rest of the posts I discovered they were having a guest contest.  I'm pretty busy at work, home and my craft corner lately, so I'm being careful what DT commitments I take on, but this is just guesting for a single month, and won't be when I'm busy with family stuff, so I thought I'd enter my card to see if I made it into the top ten.

Well as I'm sure you can guess by the title of this post I did! So this ...finally...it's been a mega busy week this last week....is my entry for the 'final' and it's not perfect, because I was very rushed lol.

The challenge theme this time was Kim Loves Pink...well you don't have to twist my arm too far to get me to make a card that uses pink lol.

As you can see, I decided to go with something completely different to my first Kraftin Kimmie card, but as I said I like the versatility of this stamp range and this one 'Eliza' just screamed 'vintage' at me. So I teamed her up with some Maja Design Vintage Autumn Basics....love this range.

This was one of those cards that I love....it practically made itself.  Once I had the main idea in my head it all just came together.  I cut the clocks out of some of the paper and mounted them on some die cut gears.  I gave the gears and the die cut clock a treatment of Aged Ivory Frantage. The clock faces I brushed with Tim Holtz crackle clear crackle paint.  I'm really happy with the way this turned out.

I slipped some gears under the lovely flowers too, and made a tag from the elements sheet to attach my bow to. She looks like a bow kind of gal doesn't she? Since it's the month of romance I added a little romantic sentiment ticket that fitted the theme.

I hope you like my card, I'm sure that I'll be making more projects with Karftin Kimmie stamps in future, whether I win the contest or not, in fact I have 1 all stamped up and partly coloured with distress inks, and another on it's way to me in the post.  I had a ball making this card, I hope it inspires you to have some fun too.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Kraftin Kimmie - Top Ten Finalists.....moving on!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day : ) x x

Tilda with Spring Heart for Totally Tilda

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you're enjoying your weekend.  I'm here with my DT post for Totally Tilda, we have a new challenge for you today, and it's super easy and so suitable for the time of year.

Our challenge this week is Pink & Red Valentines.  So we want to see your Valentine themed cards using pink and red.  Not difficult heh?

My card this week is using one of the new stamps from the Lost & Found collection, she's called Tilda with Spring Heart. Isn't she gorgeous?  I've teamed her with some Pion Designs papers, a mix of From the Heart II and Flower Frames, Pion do such lush papers, I don't think there's a single one I don't like.  Links to most products used can be found at the end of my post except the ribbons and lace which are from The Ribbon Girl but for some reason it never shows the pics when I try to link.

The little banner she's sitting on is cut from the sheet of elements.  I love that Pion do this with their collections, it's so nice to add little bits that go perfectly with the theme you've chosen.

I decided to paper piece her dress and shoes and her little hair bows and then added a little shading with my Copics, doesn't she look cute?  The heart is coated with a little Tim Holtz crackle paint in Rock Candy.

So that's my card, I can't wait to see yours, our sponsor this week is

so link up for the chance at winning a fab prize from them! and don't forget to pop over and check out the the inspiration from the rest of the DT, they're truly fabulous.

I'm entering this card to the following challenges:
The Ribbon Girls - Hearts
Tilda's Town - Be Mine
The Paper Sweeties - Be Mine
Live & Love Crafts - Love and Lace
Time for Magnolia - Be My Valentine
Stamp  & Create with Magnolia - Add Some Red
Magnolia Mania - Hearts

That's it from me, but I'll be back later with another card to share, for now I'm off for a trip around blogland with a cuppa.
 Enjoy your Sunday :) xx
