Craftin Desert Divas Guest Spot - Final Post

Hello!

I'm here for my final post for Craftin Desert Divas  showcasing their newly released

Unfortunately I've been really unwell this last couple of weeks and so this final card was a little rushed, so didn't come out as well as I wished, but I still think it's cute.

I made a little beach scene using distress inks to add sand sea and sky, using my white gel pen to add some waves to the water. I really wish I was lazing on a beach like this pair enjoying a cocktail right now!

It's been such a blast guesting for CCD this month and thank you so much to Tara for inviting me.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Craftin Desert Divas - Guest Spot - You're Faulous

Hello.

I'm here again guesting for Craftin Desert Divas showcasing their newly released

When I first looked up images of flamingos I found that their shades varied depending on their area and diet, so are almost purple or even blue! So I tried a bit of a different colour for my flamingo today.

I kept my background rather loose with some ink smooshing with some Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citronand decided to add a shaker element above the stamped sentiment for a little interest, fussy cutting my stamped image and popping her up on some foam tape.
I backed the whole thing on some pink lustre cardstock which was a much more purply pink of camera, and finished with a few clear sequins,

I'll have my final card for CCD to share with you tomorrow, thanks so much for dropping by!

Craftin Desert Divas Guest Spot - Stand Tall

Hello!
It's a super quick post from me today as I have been so unwell this past week I struggled to get much done at all.

I felt a little bit better today and so I'm sharing with you my second card for my guest spot with Crafting Desert Divas, using the Tickled Pink Stamp Set.

This time I used the beach ball image and stamped that randomly all over a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and coloured with my zig markers.

Then I coloured and fussy cut another of the beach ball images and one of the flamingoes.

I added a layer of vellum to give the card some interest and stamped a sentiment from the set on a strip of the same yellow card stock I used for my base card. I popped my fussy cut images up on a little foam tape and added a few enamel dots as a finishing touch.

That's it from me today, but hopefully I'll be feeling up to sharing more with you soon.

Thanks for dropping by!

Craftin Desert Divas August Guest Spot - Tickled Pink

Hello!

I'm so excited to be joining Craftin Desrt Divas for a guest spot this month. I'll be sharing 4 cards made with the new Tickled Pink stamp set, featuring a whole bunch of cute flamingos. This set comes with 5 different flamingo images, plus a couple of beach related images and some themed sentiments.

For my first card today I kept it simple, I coloured in my image with my Zig markers and then fussy cut it ready to mount on my card. If you aren't keen on fussy cutting, this set also comes with coordinating SVG Outlines which you can find here.

I made an A2 card base from smooth white cardstock and topped with a panel of bubblegum pink cardstock, cut slightly smaller than my card base. Then I took a smaller panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and blended on some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink in the area I wanted my image to be, I added a few small sprinkles of water for some texture.
I took a strip of black cardstock and stamped one of the sentiments from the set with Versamark Ink, using Pink Embossing Powder on top to heat emboss. I cut the strip at an angle and adhered to my top panel and then popped the flamingo on the top using some foam tape for dimension. Finally I added a few enamel dots in coordinating colours to finish the card.

I really like the way this one turned out.

I'll be sharing 3 more cards using this set, over the next week, so look out for those.

Thanks for visiting!

Funky Flowers - Navy & Gold

Hello!

I'm sharing 2 cards today, and as a bit of a change from rainbow colours and cute images, I thought I'd share something classy and subtle.

I made these cards in Navy, White & Gold a while back, because I wanted to play with my Gansai Tambi Starry Colours paint palette and I thought this deep blue cardstock would be the perfect way to show it off.

The cards are really quite simple and easy to make.
For my first card I made a top folding vertical A2 (US) card base in Nightshift Blue cardstock.

I used a stitched rectangle die from Blueprints 20 to cut a rectangle in smooth white cardstock, and the Pierced Rectangle Frames to cut a medium frame from the Nightshift Blue cardstock.
I stamped some flowers from the Funky Flowers stamp set in Versamark in on the nightshift blue cardstock and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I painted my flowers with my Starry Colours paints and once dry, cut them out with the matching dies.

I stamped a sentiment from the Essential Sentiments set, with versamark ink on the Nightshift Blue cardstock and heat embossed with fine gold embossing powder. I cut a frame from smooth white cardstock using the Rectangle Word Window Frames and trimmed my sentiment to fit behind it.

I adhered the white panel directly to my card base and then the blue frame on top using some foam tape.

I arranged and adhered my flowers with glue and foam tape and also my sentiment.

To finish I added a few gold and clear sequins.

For my second card I made a shaker card using the same frame die with a couple of the extra flowers and stamped and embossed a sentiment from the You Give me Butterflies sentiment set onto a banner from the Blueprints 20 die-namics.

I used the following items for my cards:

MFT Nightshift Blue Cardtock
Smooth White Cardstock
MFT Funky Flowers Stamp Set
MFT Funky Flowers die-namics
MFT Blueprints 20 Die-namics
MFT Pierced Frames Die-namics
MFT Essential Sentiments set
MFT You Give me Butterflies Sentiment set
Altenew Crisp Embossing Powder - Antique Gold
Foam Tape
Acetate
Tape Runner
Ranger Multi Medium Matte
Big Shot Machine

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!

Altenew - Beautiful Day

Hello!

I bought a couple more stamp sets from Altenew recently and though I haven't had very much time to play with them yet I did get this fairly simple card made with the Beautiful Day stamp set.

I stamped the flowers and leaves in Versamark ink, on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, and heat embossed with Altenew's Crisp Embossing Powder in Pure White, masking the lower left flower.

I coloured the images with Zig Markers in Persian Green, Pale Pink, Light Grey and light Green.

Once everything was dry I die-cut the panel and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink,

I die-cut a turquoise piece of lustre cardstock slightly smaller than my card base and a pale pink piece of lustre cardstock slightly smaller than that. I adhered all my layers onto my card base popping the top panel up with some craft foam.

I finished the card with a few sparkling clear sequins.and gems.

Thank you so much for dropping by xx

Paper Smooches - Body Language

Hello!

I have a few things to share with you this weekend. For this post I'm sharing the last 2 cards I made as part of my July guest spot over at Paper Smooches

I know it's August now, but I made several more than the required 4 cards, so I'm sharing the last of them here with you today.

First up is a fun card made using the Body Language stamp set. I used the stamps to stamp and mask out a background which I coloured with Zig markers. I coloured an extra image and die cut that out with the matching dies, popping that up on the heat embossed sentiment strip with some foam tape,

My 2nd card was a harder one for me, as I'm not a religious person. However when I saw the cross die and the little flowers in the 3D Crosses die set it made me instantly think of poppies and Remembrance Sunday, so I took my inspiration from that and made a shaker card.
I used the Prayers die to cut the word pray several times from white cardstock layering them to make the word more dimensional and adhered that beneath the cross. I really like the white on white keeping it very clean, with just the small red accents from the poppies.

I finished the card with a few vanilla gemstones.

Thanks for dropping by, I'll be back later with more to share.

These sets will be FREE to all customers who spend $75 or more on a single retail order in the Whimsy Store! Excluding digital products, tax and shipping. These sets are our way to say a HUGE thanks for shopping with Whimsy Stamps!
The BRAND NEW CAS set will be available a full month in advance of its release date, EXCLUSIVELY for our CAS customers. And then it will become available for purchase at the regular price of $13.99 the following month with its official release. CAS sets will be 4x6 clear photopolymer stamp sets.
For the month of August the CAS set is
Just Dance
a fabulous set for any dancers, budding dancers or those with a love of dance.

The set has some wonderful images including a fabulous TuTu, but for this card I was drawn to the ballet shoes and as I have been having a bit of a rainbow craze recently, I decided to make a rainbow of ballet shoes. I couldn't fit a full spectrum rainbow on without making my card very long indeed, so I decided to just go with 5 colours, cutting out the red and the indigo.

I kept this pretty much a one layer card, stamping the ballet shoes in black Versafine ink and colouring with Zig markers, stamping the sentiment in black Versafine and the notes are stamped using the Zig Markers to colour directly onto the stamp before stamping.

I added this to a yellow card base and finished off with a strip of rainbow striped paper  and a few coloured gemstones.

If you would like to know full details of the CAS set please click on the picture below

If you pick this set up in August as part of the CAS programme, you might like to know that there will be a matching die set available in September as part of the new release.

If you love all things Whimsy and you would like the chance to join one of the friendliest Design Teams anywhere, Whimsy Stamps is currently having an open DT call. You can read all about it by clicking on the image below.

MFT Happy Hippos meet Adorable Elephants Shaker card

Hello!

My goodness it seems ages since I last posted here. Work was incredibly busy last week and I had quite a bit to sort out at home as well,m plus I got caught up in a new author and have had a bit of a marathon read of her works lol!

Anyway I'm here today with something new and will try my best to share something new each day for you.

This is my second card using Handy Hippos and I decided that these hippos were just the perfect match for the Adorable Elephants set, (especially as the sentiment I used worked so well for both), so I've put them together here in a sweet little purple shaker card. I've listed all the MFT products for you at the end of the post, and the Zig Marker colours are listed below:

Lilac, Violet, Light Pink, Light Violet and Purple.
I added the little white spots with a white gel pen.

MFT Products used

Blueprints 31
Happy Hippos Stamp Set
Happy Hippos Die-namics
Adorable Elephants Stamp Set
Adorable Elephants Die-namics
Tiny Check Brights Paper Pad
Circle Shaker Pouches
I also used the banner die from Blueprints 20

That's it for today but I hope to be back again tomorrow.

I'm stating to list lots of my new CAS style cards on my Etsy Store, it's a long job so it might take me a while to get them all on there lol.

Thanks for visiting.

You Rock

Hello!
I've another card I found in my draft folder to share with you today. I made this card a few months back now but never got around to sharing it with you, so I thought I would remedy that today.

I started off with some watercolour cardstock and stamped the SSS Circle Doodle BG stamp with Versamark ink, heat embossing with white embossing powder.
I used a blending tool and some distress inks to loosely colour in the circles, I love using this method as it's super quick and easy.
Distress Ink colours used: Blueprint Sketch, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers.
I sprayed lightly with water and blotted dry and then I added a few splatters of white paint and left to dry thoroughly.

All the dies used on this card are from Blueprints 15 apart from the word die.

I used the large rectangle to trim my background, and then cut a piece out with the smaller asymmetric die and adhered the large piece that was left to my card base, made from smooth white cardstock.

Then I used the larger asymmetric die to cut a piece of heavyweight vellum. I adhered that over my back ground, using foam tape in the places where it would be hidden by the pieces on top, and added my smaller piece of background.

I cut some of the other shapes from the set in a lustre cardstock in blue, aqua and green, stamping a word from the SSS You Matter stamp set onto the circle and embossing in white again.
I cut the You in some blue lustre cardstock and arranged all the pieces on my card, adhering them into place. Finally I added a few sequins to finish.

Items Used:

SSS Circle Doodle Background Stamp
SSS You Matter Stamp Set
SSS You Matter Die
MFT Blueprints 15 Die
