Good morning everyone, Monday has rolled around again and I have a horrendously busy week ahead of me at work, not looking forward to it lol but at least I have 4 days holiday to look forward to next week and a visit from my baby girl yay! I say baby, she'll be 25 next Monday, but she'll always be my baby. But enough about me and on to the reason I'm here.
Of course as it's Monday I'm here with my latest make as GDT for La-La Land Crafts, and this week our theme is dots and spots. An easy one really, I have quite a lot of different paper with dots or spots so the hardest thing was choosing which one! I finally plumped for this black and white paper from Glitz, it's from a pad called Black and White though it also has a fair amount of red in the pack too. Anyway I thought this would fit well with Sweet Friends Marci since she's holding a Panda.
Even though this card didn't end up exactly the way I was imagining it in my head, I'm quite happy with it.
La-La Land items used:
If you're in the UK you can find most of these at Dies to Die for.
This is my card.
I stitched all my layers with top stitch thread to match and contrast, but I didn't distress or ink this time as I didn't really think it suited the paper and design.
I coloured Marci with my Copics to match the paper, picking out the red as a contrast from that one red dot at the top.
The colours I used are:
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000, R20, E01, R24
Hair: W3, W5, W7, W9
Clothing and Panda: W0, W1, W5, W7, W9, C2, R24, R27, R29, R59
I fussy cut her out and popped her up on some adhesive foam
The gorgeous dotty ribbon, twine, button, rosebuds and daisy are from The Ribbon Girl
I added some glossy accents to make Marci's wellie boots shine, but as usual it's really not showing up in the photos. I swapped the inside heart on the black and white die cut hearts fr extra contrast and added some enamel dots and hearts for interest.
Well that's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with my Tuesday Inspiration post for Dies to Die for and without blowing my own trumpet (well ok I guess I am lol) I think tomorrow's card may be my favourite card I've made this year, it's certainly up there in the top 5!
Before you go don't forget to pop over to the blog and check out the rest of Team Monday's makes, the girls have really excelled themselves this time, and why not show us your own take on the theme in our Face Book Group?
Have fun! : ) x x
