Audrey

Morning everyone! It's Friday again yay! Today I'm sharing a card I was asked to make by a friend at work for her Mum.  The brief I had to work from was that she liked Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, that she loved fashion and that her favourite colours were black orange and green.

I must admit that I skipped the green as trying to put those 3 colours together really wasn't working for me on a card.

Anyway I chose the fabulous Uptown Girls Audrey Loves Her Make-Up from Stampin' Bella, perfect to fit the Audrey Hepburn part I thought. I actually used Halloween papers (just to show they're versatile lol) for the black and orange as they were the only papers I had with that colour combo. these are from the Authentique 6 x 6 'Spirited' pad and I can't find them in the store now, but you could use something like Thrilling to a similar effect, I just avoided the more Halloween prints with bats and spiders.

I coloured her with my Copics this time as I thought they suited the strong colour scheme a bit better. Man was I rusty lol! I don't think I did a bad job in the end though and I finished her dress off with some polka dots with my white Posca pen.

For the fashion part I decided to include an Eiffel Tower dies (Paris is the heart of fashion right?) and a dress form.

My friend loved it and I must admit that after struggling a bit with it I really love the way it turned out.

Ribbon and Lace are from the Ribbon Girl

Well that's all from me today, but I'll be here at the weekend with another giveaway :) xx

Happy Hour for a Fab Fortieth

Happy Friday folks! Hope you're all looking forward to the weekend as much as me. I would like to say a huge thank you to the people who stop by an leave a little love with comments.  I'm sorry I don't get to leave you all comments as much as I would like. I do visit your lovely blogs, but often it's on my phone during my lunch break at work, so I don't get to leave a comment.

It's a work pal's 40th soon and for once I had the time to think about making a specific card.  I thought that Time for Tea's Cocktail Dress would be just perfect for this, who wouldn't enjoy cocktails on their 40th birthday.....well maybe some people wouldn't, but that's certainly not me, though my 40th is definitely behind me lol!

Anyhoooo enough waffle and on with the sharing! I just have the one photo today as I've had a really busy week and dashed off this photo after coming home from a trip to the cinema to see Avengers: Age of Ultron, which I highly recommend you to see if you haven't already.

I matched the stamp with some beautiful Authentique papers called Elegant and I'm ashamed to say that I did not check the website first and sadly Tracy no longer has this pad available.  She has such a wide range of beautiful papers though, you're sure to find something that you like.

I coloured her with my Distress Ink and Aquatint markers....I really must start using my Copics and pencils again, I just really love colouring my images with a brush, but pencils would be soooooo useful to take on journeys with me to colour images, I just never seem to have the hours in the day to practice lately. Oh well one for the 'to do' list.

I used another of the Make a Card die sets from CC designs, I used the 2 larger rectangle shapes to mount my fussy cut image, plus the long narrow one for my sentiment.

I just love these little polymer frames from Scrapberry, they are perfect as an accent and I used it here to frame the number 40.  I'm sure she will just love me reminding her how old she is lol!

You can find a full list of items available from the shop below:

The ribbon, button and twine are all from the Ribbon Girl.

That's all from me today, have a lovely Friday and if you're in the UK I hope you enjoy the long weekend :) xx

Champange Lucy at Dies to Die for

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm back from my little holiday in Bath and here today with my latest make for Dies to Die for.

Today I'm using Champagne Lucy, from Mi Ran Jung  made by Whimsy Stamps.  I must admit that when I saw this stamp in my DT pack from Tracy I was soooo happy, I've been itching to colour up some of Mi Ran's artwork.

I teamed her with these gorgeous papers from Authentique, Elegant.  I know I've used these papers a few times now, but the Turquoise, White and Black colourway is just so striking. Layers have been inked, distressed and hand stitched.

I've put the list of items used, with links where possible at the end of my post. I added plenty of glitter to her feather boa and for once you can actually see it in the photos lol!

Champagne Lucy has been coloured in Copics:

Skin: E11, E21. E00, E000, R20
Hair: W9, W7, W5, W3, B000
Clothing: W9, W7, W5, BG0000, BG01, BG05

The beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and The Ribbon Girl. The lovely 'glass butterfly is from Karla's Kreative Korner and the gorgeous bling is from The Handcrafted Card Company.

The inside is simply finished with a couple of sheets from the same pack.

That's all from me for today, but I'll be back here on Sunday with some more inspiration for Totally Tilda, and I'll try to catch up with your blogs this weekend : ) x x

Beret Marci - Sketch at La-La Land

Happy Monday all!  I'm going to try my best this week to do some catching up, I seem to have fallen very behind in my makes and commenting recently, with preparing for my interview last week and other personal stuff, so I really need to make an effort to catch up.  Anyway, let's get straight on to the reason I'm here today.  We have a new inspiration theme over at La-La Land Crafts, and this week it's a sketch. This is the sketch we followed....

these are the La-La Land Craft items I used:

Tilda in Lace Pants for Totally Tilda

Good Morning and happy Sunday!  If you're in the UK I hope you're enjoying your bank holiday weekend too, though I hope you're having better weather than me, torrential rain and freezing cold yesterday, I had to resort to putting the heat on and there's only one week till June! Still, at least I did manage to get some crafting done.

I'm here today with my DT post for the new challenge over at Totally Tilda, and this time we want to see Black. White and one other Colour.  You can of course use normal skin tones as well, so really a pretty easy one this week.

I've had this gorgeous paper in my stash for a while just waiting for this challenge as I thought it was perfect. One of the pages from the pack has a lovely lace pattern, so I thought I'd colour up Tilda in Lace Pants from the newest Magnolia collection and paper piece her 'Pants', it always makes me giggle a little when I see trousers called pants, cos here in the UK pants are underwear, so lace pants to me would be something pretty from Aubade lol.

The paper pad I used  is Elegant from Authentique and I used quite an ornate die Palace Oval Frame from Memory Box to mount her on. All layers have been distress with Black Soot DI and hand stitched with top stitch thread.

I coloured her up with my copics, I'm sorry I don't have the exact colours noted, but they would have been the Ws and the BGs and my go to skin colours which you can find on any of my posts with Copic colouring.

Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and The Ribbon Girl.  The bow is made from satin ribbon also from The Ribbon Girl and the beautiful cameo is from The Handcrafted Card Company. The gems were clear, I coloured them to match the paper/image with my Copics, I love that you can do this.

Isn't this butterfly gorgeous?  They're handmade by a lady called Kay Fatula and come all the way from the US.  You can find them in her Etsy shop here, she's lovely, do drop by her Facebook page too and give that a like if you're on FB.

Finally I decorated the inside to complement the front (or and for those people who told me I spelled complement incorrectly and it should be compliment,  compliment is when you express admiration or praise, complement is when something enhances or improves the overall effect. If you're interested in grammar....and yes I can be a grammar nazi lol.....you can check it out in the Oxford Dictionaries blog here. I love language it can be so interesting....but also so confusing he he)
I'm entering the following challenges:

Magnolia Mania - #91 Paper Piecing
Addicted to Stamps #83 Bingo (lace, metal (the cameo setting), flowers

This card is for sale in my Etsy shop .

I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday (and bank holiday weekend if you're in the UK) I'll be back on Monday with my post for La-La Land Crafts and in the meantime go check out the rest of the team's creations, here they're flippin' gorgeous!

Bye for now! : ) x x

Mad Hatter Luka - La-La Land Crafts GDT

Happy Monday everyone.  It's me again starting off the week with my GDT post for La-La Land Crafts.

This week the theme is 'Use your Scraps'.  Not too difficult a one for me as I always have odds and ends lying around and I keep a whole basket of scrap paper.

One thing that's great to do with your scrap paper is to paper piece your image, and that's what I've done today. I warn you, today's card is bright, you might need your sunglasses lol.

La-La Land Craft Items Used:
Stamp

Dies

I love Mad Hatter Luca, he's just so much fun and so suited to piecing up with all different patterns and colours of scrap paper.  Where I didn't paper piece him, I coloured him with Copics.
I used papers from the Authentique range and some Bazill card.  As usual I stitched my papers with coloured top stitch thread, I could really go to town on the colours here.

I framed him with the Random Flag Banner cut into pieces and slipped a couple of Whimsical Trees behind, they're just perfect for this whimsical image! Love that teapot charm that's popped on my bows, just the thing for a mad hatter.

I used a little ticket sentiment to finish him off. The gems were coloured with my copics to match the image and papers.

Well that's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with my Dies to Die for DT post (and it's one of my best), in the meantime why not hop over to the blog and take a look at the rest of the DT's creations, they are quite fantastic.  See you soon. : ) x x

Coco, Wonderful Wednesday for Kraftin' Kimmie

Good afternoon everyone. I'm still on my hols at the mo so posting this live today. It's Wednesday and  I'm sharing my GDT card for Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday challenge.  These are always Anything Goes challenges,  your submission must use at least one Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp but can be any theme, any style, any design and it can be a card, a scrapbook page, an altered item....you name it!!
It must be a NEW creation and you can enter until Tuesday, April 1st when the winner for March will be announced!! What do you think.....wanna WIN??

**Please note that you are more than welcome to combine this Wonderful Wednesday Share to Win challenge with other challenges, BUT not our regular weekly challenges. This must be a new and different creation than anything you create for our Saturday challenges.

I decided to go with Coco Chocolate as I've been dying to use her and Tracy from Dies to Die for had sent me this delicious pack of paper full of reds pinks and chocolate browns, just perfect for this image I thought.
It's a simply fabulous pack, because not only do you get lots of strokeable double sided designs, you also get 2 pages of stickers! I've used some of the little word stickers to make my sentiment, but Coco does also come with it's own fabulous sentiment if you prefer to use a stamped one.  I've put links to the products I've used from the UK at the end of my post.

I coloured her with my Copics, I used E13, E11, E00, E000 for her skin, R81, R83, R85, R35, R37 and R59 for her outfit and so many different bown tones for her hair and the chocolates that I forgot to list them as I was working, mostly from the E20s and E50s, but also a couple from the E30s. For the white chocolate I used E50, E41 and E42.

The frame for the sentiment is a Tim Holtz book plate, I love using these but you do need a fairly solid card base to use them like this, as they're pretty heavy. The lovely pearl and diamante embellishment is from the Handcrafted Card Company, the pearl was cream, but I coloured it with my Copics to match.

I layered up some brown tulle (which I gathered by hand) which was a pressie from a friend, (thank you Susie!) with some pale pink lace, red satin ribbon and thin brown velvet ribbon, these were all leftovers from other cards that I've had in my stash for ages now. I had to use lots of glue and tape to hold all this lot down lol.

I finished the whole lot of with some die cut flourishes and some pearls and gems and then decorated the inside to complement the front, the picture isn't great I'm afraid, it was very hard to get the light in there when I took it.
Don't forget that Alyce from Kit & Clowder is doing a live colour along with Kraftin' Kimmie's Hannah Hearts this Saturday. Unfortunately Hannah appears to out of stock right now, but if you managed to snap her up we hope to see you at the live colour along...and wouldn't she look perfect on this card too?

Well that's all from me today, I'm off to my crafting corner to get as much as I can done today, it's back to work for me tomorrow *boo!* but then only 2 days till the weekend *yay!*.  I'll be back here on Saturday to share my last GDT card for Kraftin' Kimmie with you.
Until then, happy craftin' !! : ) x x
