Seraphina - Things with Wings at Deep Ocean Challenge

Good evening everyone (or whatever time it is for you when you read this). I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. I'm still in holiday mode here but my goodness it's going fast.

It's time for a new challenge over at Deep Ocean, and this time we want to see things with wings....so think, fairies, angels, butterflies, birds, bees .....basically if your creation has wings on it it's good for the challenge.

I used a stamp that I've had sitting in my collection un-inked for simply ages. I must admit that I have a lot of stamps with wings so it wasn't an easy choice to make, but as this had wings in the form of angel wings and lots of cute little birds, I thought she deserved an outing :)

I've listed some of the products used at the end of my post.

I inked up Seraphina Angel and for a change I used my Copics. I must admit to feeling quite rusty with them, I seem to colour 90% of my images with watercolour inks lately.

Skin: E13. E11, E00, E000, E4
Hair and Birds: E40, E42, E44, E47, W0, W2
Clothing and Wings: RV10, RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99, W0, W2, W5, W7

I added some dies cuts using dies from La-La Land and  Magnolia, and added some beautiful Prima bling. I can't remember where the ribbon came from, I found it in my stash, I think it's been there a while. The gorgeous flowers are from The Ribbon Girl.

I decorated the inside very simply with more of these beautiful strokable papers from Maja, I love them but they are so pretty I do have a hard time cutting into them....deep breaths Linda, deep breaths......this collection is actually reduced at the mo, time to stock up!

Products Used:

Kraftin' Kimmie - Seraphina Angel
Prima Say it in Crystal - Vintage Swirl, Clear/Dark Grey (I coloured some stones pink with a marker)

The word Dream is cut from a LDRS Vintage Senitments set

Well that's all from me today, but don't forget to pop over the blog to see my lovely team mates wonderful makes!

TTFN! :) xx

Nurse Nightingale

Good morning!  Well Tuesday has rolled around again and I'm here with my regular Dies to Die for post and my 4th card of the week *phew!*

I needed to make a card for a friend at work who was leaving clinical teaching to go back into nursing.  I thought that Nurse Nightingale was perfect for this.  Sadly she's now out of stock, but the good news if you're a Kraftin' Kimmie fan, is that all Kraftin' Kimmie stamps in the store are all on sale and most are around half price!  Grab a bargain while they're still in stock!

I coloured her in Copics and I'm sorry that I don't have the colours today, I was rushing so much to get this card done in time that I didn't have a chance to note them down. I paired her with the gorgeous Shoreline Treasures collection by Pion Design. These papers are so lovely and you can use many of them for more than just seaside or summer themes. I paired the Pion paper with some Kraft.

I've distressed all the edges of my paper and inked with DI in Walnut Stain and hand stitched as always with top stitch thread.

I fussy cut her out and popped her up on foam tape on a couple of sheets cut with a Die-namics Notebook Paper die. On top of that I've cut a couple of little banners with the smallest sizes of the Die-namics Jumbo Fishtail Banner die. The sentiment is from the Everyday Mini Postage Stamps sentiments by Whimsy and cut with the matching die.

The inside is decorated with the same paper range to complement the front...as you can see I wrote my message before remembering to take pics oops.
The wings at the top of the card are cut with the La-La Land Craft's Wings Set

Flowers, lace, ribbon and cheesecloth are all from The Ribbon Girl, the decoration on the bow is from The Handcrafted Card Company.

Well that's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with my 5th and final card for the week. Until then, have fun crafting! : ) x x

I Love Paris in the Springtime

Morning everyone!  It's a miserable grey day here, but it's the weekend and we can all relax and get some crafting in!

I'm here today with my very last (sob) card as GDT for Kraftin' Kimmie.  I've had such a marvelous time guesting for them and all the girls have been so fantastic and supportive (not to mention fun and crazy) and I will really miss them all, but I have so many things crammed into my diary for the next few months, so I'm trying not to take on more than I can cope with and end up whimpering under my craft desk lol.

Anyway enough of my drivel and on to the challenge!

This week our hostess with the mostest is KAREN !! And her challenge is SPRING HAS SPRUNG!! So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamp that features spring in some way!! Have some krafty fun and join us this week!!

I took a slightly different take on the Spring has Sprung theme, at this time of year there's a fair few Spring/Easter themes going on and I could have gone with flowers or eggs/bunnies etc, but I have already done some like that and for some reason this stamp 'Michele' always makes me hum the song 'I love Paris in the springtime' and I'd been sent this lovely Spring collection in my DT pack from Dies to Die for and then I found this little button in my stash with the title of the song...and just like that the inspiration for my card was born.

I've added links to the products I've used at the end of my post, apart from the buttons and bling which were from my stash. For once I decided not to add any flowers or lace or ribbon....my card feels naked!  But they just didn't really work with the layout, believe me I tried lol. The sentiment and postcard comes from the same collection as the paper, it's almost like a card in a bag.

I coloured Michele in in Copics, with quite strong colours to match my papers,

popped an Eiffel Tower dies cut behind her and finished off the card with this beautiful butterfly.

Now check out the wonderful creations by the Krafty Girls and special Krafty Guests featuring this week’s challenge!! We’re sure you’ll be inspired!! Then join us, play along and you could WIN!!

Well that's if for today, I'll be back tomorrow with my DT card for Totally Tilda and it's very different from my usual cards, but I'll let you see for yourself, take care and enjoy your weekend! : ) x x

Coco, Wonderful Wednesday for Kraftin' Kimmie

Good afternoon everyone. I'm still on my hols at the mo so posting this live today. It's Wednesday and  I'm sharing my GDT card for Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday challenge.  These are always Anything Goes challenges,  your submission must use at least one Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp but can be any theme, any style, any design and it can be a card, a scrapbook page, an altered item....you name it!!
It must be a NEW creation and you can enter until Tuesday, April 1st when the winner for March will be announced!! What do you think.....wanna WIN??

**Please note that you are more than welcome to combine this Wonderful Wednesday Share to Win challenge with other challenges, BUT not our regular weekly challenges. This must be a new and different creation than anything you create for our Saturday challenges.

I decided to go with Coco Chocolate as I've been dying to use her and Tracy from Dies to Die for had sent me this delicious pack of paper full of reds pinks and chocolate browns, just perfect for this image I thought.
It's a simply fabulous pack, because not only do you get lots of strokeable double sided designs, you also get 2 pages of stickers! I've used some of the little word stickers to make my sentiment, but Coco does also come with it's own fabulous sentiment if you prefer to use a stamped one.  I've put links to the products I've used from the UK at the end of my post.

I coloured her with my Copics, I used E13, E11, E00, E000 for her skin, R81, R83, R85, R35, R37 and R59 for her outfit and so many different bown tones for her hair and the chocolates that I forgot to list them as I was working, mostly from the E20s and E50s, but also a couple from the E30s. For the white chocolate I used E50, E41 and E42.

The frame for the sentiment is a Tim Holtz book plate, I love using these but you do need a fairly solid card base to use them like this, as they're pretty heavy. The lovely pearl and diamante embellishment is from the Handcrafted Card Company, the pearl was cream, but I coloured it with my Copics to match.

I layered up some brown tulle (which I gathered by hand) which was a pressie from a friend, (thank you Susie!) with some pale pink lace, red satin ribbon and thin brown velvet ribbon, these were all leftovers from other cards that I've had in my stash for ages now. I had to use lots of glue and tape to hold all this lot down lol.

I finished the whole lot of with some die cut flourishes and some pearls and gems and then decorated the inside to complement the front, the picture isn't great I'm afraid, it was very hard to get the light in there when I took it.
Don't forget that Alyce from Kit & Clowder is doing a live colour along with Kraftin' Kimmie's Hannah Hearts this Saturday. Unfortunately Hannah appears to out of stock right now, but if you managed to snap her up we hope to see you at the live colour along...and wouldn't she look perfect on this card too?

Well that's all from me today, I'm off to my crafting corner to get as much as I can done today, it's back to work for me tomorrow *boo!* but then only 2 days till the weekend *yay!*.  I'll be back here on Saturday to share my last GDT card for Kraftin' Kimmie with you.
Until then, happy craftin' !! : ) x x

Now let's celebrate with our NEW RELEASE and get hoppin' and shoppin'!!

My card uses the other image from the Showgirls set (I showed off the first of the 2 on Friday) and you'd best break out the sunglasses folks cos this is BRIGHT!

When I first saw this stamp with the costume and feathers, I immediately thought of some of the troupes I'd seen  at dance competitions when my daughter was younger and used to do loads of them.  There were a few schools that used to use almost neon colours on the stage and so I thought I'd kind of recreate that feel.
She's coloured in Copics and I'm afraid I tidied away the pens before I noted the colours down. I used plenty of Glamour Dust for sparkle. I've used coloured thread as usual to stitch the layers.

I coloured the bling around the image with Copics to match the papers. The sentiment comes with the set and I've used a Whimsy stamp around it with the matching film strip die to cut it out.

I used the other sides of the papers to decorate the inside. The film strip is from Tim Holtz. Luckily I had a few bright flowers in my stash and this lovely Parrot Green pleated ribbon, I put a little white lace underneath as contrast and voila! C'est fini!

Thank you so much for dropping by : ) x x

A Sleepy Krafty Peek

Happy Thursday all. Ooohh it's soooo exciting because today is the first day of the sneak peeks for the March release over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, and as GDT for March I get to be part of that!!

Sooo....welcome to day ONE of our MARCH Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks!!! Today we are excited to share a supah cute new set by artist Thais Narciso!! We'll guarantee you haven't seen anything like these adorable SLOTHS before!!! We are sharing samples today featuring.......WANNA HANG?!

I used this super cute sleeping Sloth on my card and one of the sentiments that comes with the set.   Make sure you hop round to all the girls so you can see them all.

I coloured him with distress inks and yes...yes I made him pink...I think he looks cute pink! lol I'll admit that I normally stick to people for my cards as I'm not overly confident in my animal colouring skills, so this is a bit of a departure for me, but I don't think he came out too badly in the end and he is soooo cute :)

I teamed him up with some lovely Bildmalarna papers.....

....and some fab dies. Really love that bow die, it comes with 2 in the set, this is the smaller one.  I'm going to be very sad when I have to send this die back.
So that's my little Pink Sloth, I think he's just adorable and there are  2 others in the set that are just as cute!

Kim Reid's photo.

All the Krafty Girls and Guests listed below have lots of super FUN designs to show you, so be sure to hop over to each of them! And while you're there, be sure to leave a comment because we are giving away one of the new sets and YOU could WIN!! {All of this week's winners will be announced at the online party on Saturday night!}
