Saturated Canary Nevaeh at Dies to Die for

Good morning to all my lovely followers old and new, I seem to have gained a few more over the Christmas hols and it gives me such a lovely warm feeling knowing my work is appreciated, so big hugs to all of you : )

Rightyho then, on to my share for today, which is scheduled since I'm back at work this week ...BOO!...but have the day off tomorrow for New Years Day...YAY!.

I'm here with my Inspiration post for Dies to Die for and originally when I started this it was going to be a Thank You card, as I'm sure that lots of us have some of those to send out to say thank you for lovely Christmas gifts, but it ended up looking so spring like I thought I'd make it non specific as it could as easily be used as a Mother's Day or Easter card as a Thank You card.

I really love the way this one turned out so I do hope you like it, I've added links to items used at the end of the post.

These papers by Maja Design are just so gorgeous I had a hard time using them lol

I've used my absolute favourite Saturated Canary stamp, isn't she pretty? I've coloured her in Copics as usual.

Skin: E11, 00, 000, 0000, R20
Dress, tights and shoes: RV95, 93, 91, G85, 82, 00, BV00, 02, 04
Hair: E50, 53, 37, 35, 21

Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The narrow white lace is from The Ribbon Girl.

The inside is decorated with the same papers to complement the front, with plenty of space to write a message.

I do hope that you have a lovely New Years Eve, I'm hoping that next year will be a little kinder to me and mine than this one has been as 2013 has been a little hard on us for some things, particularly my Dad's health so hopefully it's onwards and upwards for this year coming.
Take care and I'll see you all in 2014  : ) xx

5 Favourite Christmas Cards of 2013

Good evening everyone, hope you've enjoyed your Christmas hols, I'm back to work on Monday...boo! lol  Ahh well at least the week is broken up by New Years Day in the middle.

Anyway, I don't have anything new to share with you today (check back on Tuesday for my Dies to Die for Inspiration post), but I thought I'd join in with Debby's challenge  to choose your 5 favourite Christmas creations of this year.

I haven't made tons of Christmas cards this year because I started a little late, so it wasn't too difficult to choose my top 5, I'll make sure I start earlier in 2014!

If you click on the picture it will take you directly to the post for more pics and info.

Well that's my 5, why don't you join in too? :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, whatever you do with it :) xx

Wrapped Heart Tilda

Happy Boxing Day everyone, this is a scheduled post and as this goes live I'll be in the middle of Christmas Dinner with my family (my grown up children spent the day with their father, grandfather and my daughter's boyfriend's family down in London yesterday, so I'm having my 'official' Christmas Day today instead).

I'm here with my DT post for Marvelous Magnolia.  We're still running our challenges as Anything Goes to make it easier on you during the Christmas Holidays when everyone is so busy and with that in mind our current challenge is running for 3 weeks, this is week 2 so still plenty of time to enter. This is my mid-challenge inspiration and as I don't want to see another Christmas card for a month or so, I decided to make an early start on some Valentine's cards, using Wrapped Heart Tilda and some stunning Pion Design papers.  In fact this paper was sooo pretty I tried hard not to over embellish so that you could still see it clearly.  I've included links to most products used at the end of this post.

I've stitched all my papers as usual and edged them with Tattered Rose DI.

I paper pieced the wrapping on the heart.  Copic colours used are:
Skin: E0000, 000, 00, 11, 93
Hair: E40, 31, 35, 39
Clothes: R00, 11, 12, 14, W0, 1

Flowers and pearls are from The Ribbon Girl.

This paper is all from the same 12 x 12 sheet, it contains 4 of 6 x 6 designs on the same sheet, I used some of 3 designs on this card and still have some left to go towards another card. Isn't it beautiful....I nearly hyperventilated cutting into it lol!

I cut the same shape that Tilda was mounted on for writing a message on the inside and stamped the edge with a Kaisercraft texture stamp, I'm sorry I can't remember what this one is called or where I got it from, I thought it went well with the design on the paper.

Well that's it for me, hope you enjoy your Boxing Day if you're in England, so pop across at some point to look at the rest of the DTs creations, they're absolutely gorgeous, and if you have some time after the Christmas festivities, do join in with our challenge, it's an Anything Goes again, so nice and easy and still 2 weeks to get your entry in!

I'm entering the following challenges:

Take care, hugs :) xx

Merry Christmas!!

I'm just about to pop off to bed but before I do I'm just wishing everyone a very happy Christmas for when they wake up tomorrow and announcing the winner of my £15

candy.

I ended up with 30 pieces of paper in my 'hat' (well mixing bowl lol ) each one folded many times so the draw was random. Some names were in there once and some several times. Before I announce the winner I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been following me, old and new, without all of you  there wouldn't be much point in me sharing here, I'd just be talking to myself lol, and I really do appreciate every one of you and the feedback you leave me. Once Christmas is out of the way I will be making some time to drop by your blogs and leave a little love,  it's been so hectic lately and I've had a bit of personal stuff which has eaten into my time, but I have a few days off to catch up, so if I've missed you I'll be dropping on by shortly. Also if you haven't been lucky this time, I'll be having another giveaway to celebrate my birthday in February, and since those of you who entered are already followers, you'll have nothing more to do than add your name :)

Anyhoo, I'm tired and rambling so without further ado the name I drew out was 'drumroll'

Gina Knott

a very Merry Christmas to you Gina. Please email me and I'll get that voucher code to you. I'll leave it open until 1st January to claim as I know we're all busy with Christmas and family. Big congratulations.

I hope everyone else has a wonderful Christmas. take care and I hope Santa brings you lots of lovely crafty goodies.

Big hugs :)xxx
