Lee Holland - Teddy Birthday Hat - Whimsy Stamps July Release

Hello!

I'm back for day 2 of Whimsy Stamp's awesome release for July.

Today I have another of those adorable cute bears from Lee Holland

This is called Teddy Birthday Hat

I coloured him with my zig markers using Light Gray and Dark Gray for the bear and Pink, Orange, Yellow and Yellow Green for the hat.

I fussy cut him and added him to a background of masked distress ink stripes which I popped in top of some stripy design paper.

I added the whole lot to a yellow card base and used sentiment from the Happy Sayings stamp set.

I finished off with a few It's a Party enamel dots.

Thanks so much for dropping by, I'll have more inspiration from the new Whimsy release tomorrow!

Whimsy Stamps July Release - Wee Stamps - Baby Giraffe

Hello!

I'm back again with my second card for today's release at Whimsy Stamps and this time it's super cute!

This is Baby Giraffe from the Wee Stamps Collection, isn't it adorable?

I stamped him/her on some Bristol Smooth card and watercoloured them with my Zig Markers.

Then I masked the image and used some vintage photo and a giraffe print stencil to stencil a background.

Finally I stamped a sentiment from the Scripty Occasions Sentiment Set and added a few clear sequins.

That's all for today but I'll be back tomorrow with more from the new release.

Thanks for visiting!

Whimsy April Release Day 1

Hello!

It's that time again, time again, Whimsy's new release is here and what a fab release it is. We have some great products to share with you and I'm kicking off the fun with one of my favourite artists to colour, Sylvia Zet. Sylvia is the artist behind Whimsy Stamps Wee Collection and there is not a single one of these stamps that I do not like. Today's stamp is no exception, it's called Loli and Shellie, Shellie being the little snail. You can catch the new stamps here.

I wanted to keep this clean and bright looking, so I chose some pretty Lemoncraft Forget me Not papers and coloured my image with my distress ink markers to match. I decided that I don't colour redheads nearly enough, so I gave her a lovely head of titan hair.

Colours:
Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick
Hair, Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo
Clothes & Flowers: Pumice Stone, Mermaid Lagoon, Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn
Snail: Frayed Burlap, Brushed Corduroy

I also added lots of lovely goodies from The Ribbon Girl:

Cheesecloth
Ophelia Lace
Malibu Blue 25 mm Satin Ribbon
23 mm Turquoise/White Spot Organza ribbon
20 mm Ivory Open Rose
30 mm Ivory Wild Rose
Small Blossom Turquoise
Rose Leaves

Friendship Ties - Whimsy Stamps March Release Day 3

Hello!

Arrggghhh! You know when you have everything all planned out like clockwork and you think you can relax and take a moment off and then it all goes horrible wrong? I had a day like that yesterday, I knew I had a very busy day, so I planned ahead but on the day everything fell to pieces, this should have gone live yesterday, but for reasons I won't go into and just want to draw a veil over it didn't.

Anyhooooo....I'm back today with some more yumminess from the March release at Whimsy Stamps.

Today I'm showcasing one of the new Wee Stamps Collection, this is called Friendship Ties and like all of Sylvia Zet's wonderful drawings it is super sweet.

I coloured her up with my distress ink markers to match some pretty papers from the Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics collection, love me some lilacs and the pale green just keeps it all fresh.

I had a bit of a change from my recent CAS fest and went shabby chic with this one, I think it suits her well.

The papers, cheesecloth, seam binding and ......are from The Ribbon Girl
Don't forget to check out all my teams wonderful creations and if you're on Facebook you can join in all the fun we're having in our Facebook group.

Have a fabulous Friday!

Mistletoe Fairy with a Twist

Hello!!

It's Sunday again already, (and halfway through January too, eeek!), I thought I'd petition Old Father Time to slow things down a bit... maybe just for the weekends....perhaps the evenings too. Hey if he wants he can speed up work days a bit to make up the difference! I have the best ideas don't I?
Of course he hasn't relied to my email as yet....maybe he's still sleeping off the New Year celebrations.

Anyhoooooooo...
Since it's the 3rd Sunday in the month, that means it's time for a new challenge at

As usual we want to see any projects you make, as long as they use an image on them.

For my contribution this week I used the lovely Mistletoe Fairy from Whimsy Stamps.
I fell in love with this as soon as I saw her and coloured her up straight away in Winter Mode. But I thought to myself, why limit her to Christmas and Winter cards? It seems such a shame to leave her in the drawer after Christmas.
So I had a little play and coloured her up with some summer colours where her Mistletoe became pretty pink berries.

What do you think?

I actually used some of my Precious Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics 1933 for this. I only have one sheet left now and I will be so sad to see it finished as I can't get it anywhere now and I love the mix of aqua and pink.

She's coloured in Distress Ink markers to match the papers and I used the following colours:
Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage and Picked Raspberry.

Products Used:

Cheesecloth
15 mm Pale Pink Satin Ribbon
20 mm Sylvia Pale Aqua Lace
6 mm Ivory Pearl Trim
Ivory Magnolia Flower
Beaded Cherries Pink
20 mm Ivory Open Rose
10 mm Ivory Open Roses
Miniature Pale Mint Blossoms
Hip Rose Bud Cream
Rose Leaves - Green
11 mm Ivory FB Pearls
8 mm Ivroy FB Pearls
6 mm Ivory FB Pearls

I do hope you can join in, you can win some lovely prizes from our sponsors

First prize:  £10 voucher for LOTV
Second prize:  £10 voucher for The Ribbon Girl
Third prize:  from Marianne Designs

and don't forget to ogle the rest of the team's gorgeous makes!

Thanks for visiting

Whimsy Stamps January Release Day 3 - Poppy

Oh my goodness I'm running late. I've really felt like I was playing catch up this week as although all my cards were already made, photographed, uploaded and edited, work has been a bit mental and I forgot to schedule this one.

Still better late than never right?
So it's day 3 of Whimsy Stamps new release and for my final card I'm sharing a little something made with Poppy from Wee Stamps
Isn't she gorgeous, just love that toadstool.

I made a card in my usual softly shabby style and chose some more vibrant colours

The papers are from Lemoncraft Neverending Summer collection and I coloured her to match them with distress ink markers.

I used Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Hickory Smoke, Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry,  Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Frayed Burlap and Mowed Lawn
I also used the new Butterflies Stencil with some embossing paste
The sweet little Toadstools,  Ribbon, Lace and Rose Leaves are from The Ribbon Girl.

Don't forget that if you're in the UK or Europe you can buy your Whimsy Stamps products at

That's it from me today, but I'll be back on Sunday with a new make, thanks so much for visiting!

Deep Ocean Challenge - Fave Project of 2016

Hello!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break, I'm back to work now for 3 days before having another little break for the New Year.

So today I'm here with the final challenge for 2016 from Deep Ocean and this is an easy one because you do not have to make a new project. However if you are like me, it may take you a REALLY long time to choose one thing from everything you made in 2016.

I think it would be impossible to pick one single favourite for me, but as we can only pick one I've settled on this make with Sweetie from Whimsy Stamps Wee Stamps Collection.

This is one of my favourite stamps and I really like the card I made with her, I must get around to using her again soon.

I do hope you will join in with us for our last challenge of the year, and don't forget to ogle the rest of the teams' fantastic makes while you're there.

I coloured her with my distress ink markers using Vintage Photo, Antique Linen and Walnut Stain, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Wilted Violet, Gathered Twigs, Pumice Stone, Shabby Shutters and Frayed Burlap

Cupcake Treat

Hello!

It's no secret that I love Sylvia Zet's sweet images. Honestly if I had the time I would colour every one of her stamps up as soon as they were released, but with work and other commitments sometimes I have to wait till I can get them on a card.

I adore this sweet image called Cupcake Treat, it's totally sweet and lots of fun and perfect for all sorts of cards. If you're in the UK or Europe you can buy this stamp from Dies to Die for.

Today I've made a card in my more usual softly shabby style, and kept the colouring very light along with the papers.

Coloured in my usual distress ink markers, I've mostly stuck to neutrals and pinks, though the pink is fairly bright to give it a little lift.

Frayed Burlap, Esspresso, Gathered Twigs, Antique Linen, Picked Raspberry

I used some Wink of Stella on the wings, which you can just about see in the pic below, but it's so much more sparkly in real life!

The papers I used are from the gorgeous House of Roses collection from Lemoncraft, I've linked them for you below along with some scrummy embellishments from The Ribbon Girl.

Thanks for dropping by,

Whimsy Stamps October Release - Wee Stamps - Winter Wonder

Hello!

Do you ever feel like you're a pendulum? You're swinging waaaaaay over there and just as you think you've reached your destination......whooosh, over the other way you go.

My month is a bit like that. After returning from the Whimsy Craft retreat on a high, and recovering from the jet lag, my Dad was once again taken into hospital. Monday night I got a call that he wasn't going to get any better and they were withdrawing treatment, just keeping him as comfortable as possible. I'm readying myself for the call to go down there. Then yesterday he seemed to rally a bit (apparently this is quite common), so I feel like I'm being put through an emotional wringer currently, and on top of everything I seem to have pulled something  or trapped a nerve in my lower back and I'm in agony.
So I'm at home today rather than in work, trying to pull myself together a bit. Luckily for me I'd already made my stuff for the new release, so that was one less thing to think about. Soooooooo......

Whimsy Stamps October Release

You are going to want need some of these...maybe all....they are so many mouthwatering goodies on offer.

I almost couldn't decide what to colour up first, but as you know I am a huge fan of Sylvia Zet's work and this new stamp from her for Whimsy's Wee Stamps Collection was just so adorable and perfect for Christmas. I don't know about you but I still have a heap of Christmas cards to make. Am I in any way ready for Christmas? I am not.

This is called Winter Wonder.

I've gone for my usual slightly vintage and shabby chic style here, but I've kept things reasonably pared down as I want the focus to be on the sweet image.

I've stamped onto Langton HP water colour paper with Versafine ink in Onyx Black and then coloured with my Distress Ink markers.

Colours Used:

Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain, Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw, Hickory Smoke, Pine Needles Festive Berries.

I ummed and ahhed about colouring in a night sky, but in the end I decided I wanted to keep the image a little lighter, so I didn't.
I added some Glamour Dust to the fur trim for some sparkle and cut out the image with a postage stamp frame die from MFT.

I used some Kasiercraft Paper, Silver Bells, from my stash and edged all my papers with Walnut Stain DI. I finished with some well placed embellishments and a couple of peal swirls from my stash to look a bit like swirls of snow.

If you're in the UK or Europe, the flowers, cheesecloth, ribbon and lace are all from The Ribbon Girl and the stamp and postage stamp die can be purchased from Tracy at Dies to Die for.

That's all from me today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more lushness from the new release, in the meantime you can catch up with all the gorgeous makes from my fabulous team mates in the
Whimsy Stamps and Inspiration Group
on Facebook and you can see all the goodies on our blog

Wee Stamps - Mistletoe Fairy

Well it's the final day of the Whimsy Stamps September release, I hope you've been enjoying seeing them. I love this new release so much though that you'll be seeing lots more of it from me throughout this month.

Anyway, today my card is using one of the new Wee Stamps Collection, she is called Mistletoe Fairy.

Now I could have coloured her up in more traditional mistletoe cololurs, and I probably will do that later, but I really wanted to see her as a little winter fairy. I also decided to do a spot of monochrome colouring with a pop of colour that I'm fond of, but this time to change things up a bit I went with sepia tones rather than greyscale.

I used some lovely pages from the new Winter Wishes pad, and a couple of the glittery enamel dots to match which are gorgeous!

I also used the new Snowflakes Dies.

I love the way she turned out. I was going to add flowers to this card, but I thought the new snowflakes looked so nice that it didn't really need it.

I used my distress ink markers to colour her in and just used 2 pens, Frayed Burlap and Broken China.

The cheesecloth and seam binding are from The Ribbon Girl.

That's all from me for today, but I'll see you soon. Don't forget that there's still time to sign up for my stamp and die giveaway here

Have fun!

Wee Stamps Heidi - Christmas in July

It's no use, I can't put it off any longer, I need to start making the dreaded Christmas cards. Otherwise I'll be pulling out my hair come December....and I have a lot of hair...it could take quite some time and then I'd not get any cards made!

So it's probably fortunate that the latest theme over at Deep Ocean Challenge is
'Christmas in July'

I decided though that I still couldn't face full on traditional Christmas, so I opted for a little Winter Christmas scene with a twist.

This is Heidi, isn't she scrummy?  She's one of the Wee Stamps collection by the wonderful Sylvia Zet as you probably guessed. She's an older stamp but still available.

If you read Whimsy Stamp's magazine then you may have seen this card already as it was featured there, funnily enough also as a Christmas in July project!

I've coloured her with my Distress Markers but this time I tried something a little different. If you are  a long time follower you will have  seen me do a B & W colouring with just a pop of colour accent from time to time, but sometimes B & W just doesn't go so well with your paper colour choice. This was the case with this card, I knew I wanted to use these gorgeous papers from Galeria Paperiu, and the blue was perfect for the accent colour, but B & W just didn't seem to look right with the neutral papers. Then I had a light bulb moment....what if instead of B & W I did Sepia? So I gave it a try and what I ended up with looked so beautifully vintage that I totally went with that look for my card.

Techniques used on my card:

Monochrome Distress Ink Colouring
Layering Die Cuts
Fussy Cutting
Distressing

Products used

Galeria Papieru - Snow Queen 12 x 12 papers
Cheesecloth
Ivory White Magnolia Flower
30 mm Ivory Wild Roses
Apple Blossom Mixed Pastels
Ivory Sugar Sprinkle Ribbon
5 mm FB Clear Gems

I do hope you can join in with us.

That's all from me today, but I'll be back tomorrow with my first make for the July release from Whimsy Stamps.

Happy Crafting!

Whimsy Stamps May Rubber Stamps Release Day 1 - Mariposa

Hi everyone, it's time for the first day of Whimsy Stamps rubber release for May.

I have a treat for you today in the shape of this cute little chappie or chappess called Mariposa, from the Wee Stamp Collection.  Like all of the artist Sylvia Zets' images, this is just too sweet for words.

Mariposa means butterfly so I dug out 2 of my precious butterflies from Kay's Etsy shop and after finding papers that went with them, I coloured this little bundle of cuteness in coordinating colours, with my distress ink markers.

DI colours: Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Evergreen Bough, Forest Moss.

I added lots of Wink of Stella to the wings, but sadly I couldn't get that to show in the pics.

I've linked some of the embellishments used below:

White Chrysanth

This card is for sale in my Etsy shop, just click the icon below to view there.

Wee Stamps - Emily

Hi everyone! I'm always happy when Friday rolls around because that means just one more day at work and then the weekend and extra time to craft, plus we have been having some glorious weather this week in the UK.
I have some plans in my head already for what I want to make this weekend and it's a shabby chic make or two I have in mind.

In the meantime, I'm sharing my latest Whimsy Stamps make, this time using an older stamp from the Wee Stamps collection called Emily. I just love this stamp and I thought she was the absolute perfect match for this paper I had in my stash.

Colouring is done with Distress Inks.

Embellishments are as always from The Ribbon Girl and I've listed them below for you with links that will take you straight to the item in the shop.

25 mm  Dusky Pink Satin Ribbon
16 mm Dark Brown Grosgrain Ribbon
Cheesecloth
Pale Pink Wild Rose
20 mm Pale Pink Open Rose
Baby Pink Sweetheart Blossom
Pearl 10 mm Ivory Flower Trim
12 mm Pearl Ivory Flower Shape Flatbacks

I thought the lace was also from The Ribbon Girl, but I can't find it in the shop, so I may have had it in my stash for some time!! They do have some similar ones here though. The little heart on the bow was recycled from a birthday card my daughter bought me :)

That's all for today, enjoy your Friday!

Wee Stamps - Iris

Hello! It's quite a mixed up sort of week for me this week, not helped by our beautiful British weather....yup...sunshine and hailstorms lol. There's a reason we Brits are eccentric, we like to match our surroundings lol.

Anyhooooooo........on with my share for today and like many of my other recent cards, you may have already seen this one in the Whimsy Stamps online magazine. If you haven't already done so, do check it out, it's chock full of inspiration and it's free!

This is a slightly older stamp from Whimsy's Wee Stamps collection, she's called Iris, isn't she lovely?
I decided to colour her in shades of grey to complement these rather fabulous butterflies from Kay Fatula's shop. I also knew I wanted to give her a blush of colour just to add a little interest and I had these beautiful Maja papers in my stash that just went perfectly.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps too, it's from the Fairy Tale Dreams set, this set is retiring, so grab it while you can!

I finished off with some glamour dust, some Prima bling, and the following gorgeous flowers from The Ribbon Girl

32 mm Francesca Black Lace
Siam Pink Seam Binding
Cheesecloth
20 mm Pale Pink Open Rose
Chrysanth White Kurt and Gort
Pink Sweetheart Blossom
White Sweetheart Blossom
Starburst Stamen White
Oval Clear Diamante Embellishment

I hope you like it, TTFN! :) xx

Wee Stamps - Cindy

Morning everyone! A quick one from me as I'm running late and flying in and out quickly while I slurp a coffee at work.

I'm sharing a card I made for Deep Ocean Challenge's new challenge this week, which is
Spring.
I love spring don't you? and what could be more spring like than faeries?

I just love this little fairy Cindy, she's one of Whimsy Stamps new releases for March and drawn by the wonderful artist Sylvia Zet. I also used Whimsy's Lace Doily Mini Corner Die

This card was actually the cover girl for Whimsy's new magazine, I was soooooo chuffed I was beaming from ear to ear :)

I coloured her as usual with my distress ink markers and since she's carrying a letter I thought I would theme my card around that a little, using this gorgeous Lemoncraft Paper called Old Letters, popping her on an MFT Postage Stamp Die and using a Kaisercraft Postage texture stamp around the edges.

The papers are from The Ribbon Girl, and I also added lots of yummy embellishments from them too.

3 mm Mixed Pearls Sea Charm

This card is for sale in my Etsy store, just follow the link below.

ETSY

That' all from me, but don't forget to check out the rest of the team's beautiful spring creations, and  I hope you'll join in with our challenge! :) xx

Wee Stamps - Bonnie

Hi everyone, I hope this week has been treating you well. It's time for a new challenge over at
Deep Ocean, and with Easter fast approaching our theme this time is .....you guessed it....Easter!

I'll admit that I don't usually do Easter cards, but I did think that this Easter stamp from Whimsy by Sylvia Zet,  called Bonnie,  was perfect for many different occasions if you don't pop an Easter sentiment on it. It would be just as lovely for Mother's Day or a Birthday or Thank You card, don't you think?

I've paired her with some lovely papers from Pion Design called Easter Greetings, just to keep the Easter Theme, they are so pretty and are available from The Ribbon Girl.

I coloured my image with Distress Ink markers to match the papers.

I used lots of lovely embellishments from The Ribbon Girl to finish my card.

Cheesecloth
Ophelia Ivory Lace
Purple Grape Sheer Ribbon
Mauve Mist Seam Binding
Pearl and Diamante Embellishment
10 mm FB Pearl Ivory Flower Trim
8 mm FB Pearls
3 - 6 mm Ivory SA Pearls
40 mm White Daisy
White/purple 2 tone roses
20 mm Ivory Open Rose
Sweetheart Blossoms White

I edged the ivory/white flowers with a little Milled Lavender distress ink.

I do hope you can join in with our challenge this time and don't forget to take a look at the rest of the team's wonderful makes.

Until next time! :) xx
