Whimsy Stamps October Release Day 2

Hello!

It's day 2 of Whimsy Stamps release for October and there are lots of fun new goodies to be had.

For my card today I'm showcasing the new Brushed Stripes Background Stamp.

This is such a versatile stamp, you'll see some other examples of how I used this stamp later in the month, but for today's card I did one of my favourite things.....rainbow colours.

I first stamped my image on some Strathmore Bristol smooth paper, using my MISTI and some Versamark Ink, priming the paper first with my anti static tool.

Then I did some heat embossing with some white embossing powder.

I used various Distress Oxide inks and a blending tool to colour in my stripes, masking the areas I didn't want to take that colour, with some post it tape.

I used the Shaker Maker Rectangle Die set to cut the background into 2 pieces and then used the Thanks word die (this die is no longer available in store, but you can find a lot of other word dies here) to cut out the word from the centre piece, keeping all the pieces aside.

I used the 2nd largest Stitched Nested Rectangles die to cut a layer from white card to fit between my 2 pieces and glued all 3 to my white card base .

I cut several more 'thanks' from white card stock and glued them together, gluing the striped thanks on the top.

I then inlaid the stacked word and adhered the small left over pieces in their places.

I stamped the 'for everything' sentiment from the Happy Saying set (one of my 'go to' sentiment sets)  in black ink on some white card stock and cut it to size, gluing it in place below my die cut word.

Finally I finished off with a few enameled dots.

And there you have it. Products can be found at the end of the post, just click on the pics to take you to the item in store.

Whimsy Stamps June Release - Splash

Hello!

This year is rolling by so fast I can't quite believe it's June already!

Today I have a fun and simple card, made using a new clear stamp set from the Whimsy Stamps June release.

It's called Splash and it a versatile little set you could use for many occasions. I love that it works for masculine cards too, I think I'll be making quite a few cards using this set as it also works well with other ocean themed stamps.

Making this card was so easy. First I stamped the waves with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. Then I used several blue tones of ink and blending tools to colour the waves and create a sky. I stamped the dolphins and seagulls with Versafine ink and then cut a piece of white card with a cloud edger die and stamped a sentiment from the set on top.
I adhered this onto my panel and then trimmed the panel to be a little smaller than my card base and glued it to the base with a piece of craft foam in between to pop it up a little.
To finish I added some some Nuvo Crystal Drops - Morning Dew to look like water droplets.

Simple!

I've added links to the products used below, just click on the pics.

Whimsy September Release Countdown Day 5

Hello!

We're so close now to the new release from Whimsy Stamps going live and today I have a couple of cards to share with you using the Let's Dance set.

This set was the Customer Appreciation Set last month and will now be available to buy.

For my first card I used the tutu stamp to stamp an outline in black ink,  over some ink blending and water splattering, and then used the die from the matching Let's Dance die set to cut it out.

I blended a little Twisted Citron distress ink around the edge of a panel and mounted with some craft foam that onto some turquoise cardstock mounted on top of my card base.

I popped the tutu onto the top panel with some foam tape and stamped a sentiment from the stamp set below it in black ink. I finished with a few sparkling clear sequins.

For my second card (I shared this card last month when showcasing the CAS stamp set, I used the ballet shoes from the set to stamp out 5 pairs of shoes in a row, colouring them in rainbow colours. I stamped a sentiment from the set above them and stamped several musical notes from the set in colours to match the shoes, by using my zig pens directly on the stamps.
I added a strip of patterned paper at the top of my panel, adhered all to a yellow card base and finished of with a few matching gems.

Whimsy Stamps September Release Countdown Day 4

Hello!
I'm back for day 4 of the September release countdown from Whimsy Stamps.
Today I'm showcasing 2 clear stamp sets and 1 matching die set, that are perfect for your Christmas cards.

The first set is Abstract Christmas which has this lovely abstract Christmas tree made from circles and lots of fab mix and match seasonal sentiments, you'll see that I've used these sentiments on some of my other Christmas cards.
I've made a few cards with this set as it's so versatile and just the thing for making batches of Christmas cards to send out, but you'll have to wait a couple of days to see the others.

For this one I stamped the Christmas tree in Versamark ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and embossed with detail white embossing powder.
Then I used my Zig Markers and a water brush to colour in the circles. I used a combination of Turquoise Green, Turquoise Blue, Purple and Pink.

I stamped my chosen words in VersafineOnyx Black ink under the tree and then cut out the whole thing with a stitched rectangle die and popped it up on some craft foam on some turquoise lustre cardstock mounted directly to my base card. I finished off with a few sequins in matching colours.

For my second card I used the Oh What Fun stamp set which is a lovely set with lots of small fun Christmas images. I stamped out Santa with his sleigh a few presents and a row of trees, coloured them with my Zig markers and cut them out with the matching dies. I also used one of the Stitched Border Trio dies to cut out a snow bank from smooth white cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the set onto it. I made a back ground panel, stencilling some clouds with Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire distress inks and then popped all my pieces on with varying thickness of foam tape, arranging the presents so that it looks like they are spilling out from the sleigh.
I mounted the whole thing onto a dark blue card base.

Whimsy Stamps September Release Countdown Day 3

Hello!
Welcome to day 3 of the Whimsy Stamps release countdown for September. We're showcasing more stamps and dies from the new release today, which will all be ready to buy on the 7th.

Today I used Snowflake Penguin from the Illustrator Lee Holland. Isn't he just the cutest with his little Santa hat?

I did initially make this a one layer card, masking the penguin and creating the stenciled sky, but unfortunately I ended up bleeding some of the red from his hat (as you do with red) and so fussy cut the image and glued it onto a new stenciled background.

I still kept the card very simple, just adding a stamped sentiment from the Abstract Christmas set (you'll get to see this stamp set tomorrow and it's pretty awesome) and a few gems.

I coloured the little penguin and his snowflake with my Zig markers using Light Gray, Dark Gray, Red, Wine Red, Light Blue, Pale Pink, Bright Yellow and Ochre

Hello!

Welcome to day one of the August release countdown. Over the next 6 days we'll be sharing lots of inspiration with you using all the new products from the release which will be available on the

I fell in love with this grumpy looking kitty from the word go.

He looks like the perfect YouTube meme doesn't he?

I coloured him up with my Zig Markers, using Light Gray, Dark Gray, Red, Wine Red, Mustard, Ochre, Light Oatmeal Dark Oatmeal, May Green and Deep Green.

I fussy cut him out and mounted him on some white cardstock with a piece of Christmasy patterned paper cut with a border die, and mounted the whole thing on some red cardstock.

The sentiment is actually a little bit of a sneak peek from the October release as it's from a stamp set that's coming out then but shhhhh, don't say I told you so.

I finished off with a few glittery enamel dots made with Nuvo Drops.

Thanks for dropping by!

Whimsy Stamps July Release Day 3

Hello!

We're on the last day of our new release show case and to round off my cards today I have 2 makes with clear stamp sets to share with you.

The first uses Paper Polly Dolly.

This little cutie comes with several outfits you can dress her up in and for this card I chose the Bee outfit. The set also comes with a set of matching dies (which I don't have so I did have to fussy cut this one), to make life easier for you, and the die set actually allows you to make an additional cat outfit.

I've just realised that I completely forgot to add her little antennae!

I coloured her with my Zig markers and popped her on top of a shaker card that I made with the Honeycomb Pattern Die. The sentiment is also part of the set.

For my second card I made a background using the smooshing method, with Distress Inks and Gold Watercolour paint from Gansai Tambi.

I paired this with some gold lustre cardstock and then stamped and gold heat embossed some flower images from the Little Birdie Told Me stamp set, coloured them with my zig markers, and fussy cut them. I popped them up against my gold frame with some foam tape.

The sentiment stamped on the bottom of the frame is from the Simple Sentiments set and the numbers are made with dies from the Brush Script Number Die Set.

I finished off with a few gold and clear sequins.

Thanks for joining us during the release.

This is Baby Giraffe from the Wee Stamps Collection, isn't it adorable?

I stamped him/her on some Bristol Smooth card and watercoloured them with my Zig Markers.

Then I masked the image and used some vintage photo and a giraffe print stencil to stencil a background.

Finally I stamped a sentiment from the Scripty Occasions Sentiment Set and added a few clear sequins.

That's all for today but I'll be back tomorrow with more from the new release.

Whimsy Stamps April Release Day 2

Hello!

It's day two of the fabulous new April release from Whimsy Stamps.

I have to admit falling in love with this stamp as soon as I saw it.
It's called Love Ewe by Krista Heij-Barber so quirky and cute and I just had to colour it up in some super bright and happy colours. So I turned to my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I need to start noting these babies down when I use them because they are not as familiar to me as the Distress Markers, so it's hard for me to tell which ones I used.

I also used some brightly coloured plain and sparkle cardstock and made a frame using a die from the Shaker Builder - Sweetest Birthday set and finished with some enamel dots, these are from Whimsy Stamps Summer Breeze  pack.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Whimsy April Release Day 1

Hello!

It's that time again, time again, Whimsy's new release is here and what a fab release it is. We have some great products to share with you and I'm kicking off the fun with one of my favourite artists to colour, Sylvia Zet. Sylvia is the artist behind Whimsy Stamps Wee Collection and there is not a single one of these stamps that I do not like. Today's stamp is no exception, it's called Loli and Shellie, Shellie being the little snail. You can catch the new stamps here.

I wanted to keep this clean and bright looking, so I chose some pretty Lemoncraft Forget me Not papers and coloured my image with my distress ink markers to match. I decided that I don't colour redheads nearly enough, so I gave her a lovely head of titan hair.

Colours:
Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick
Hair, Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo
Clothes & Flowers: Pumice Stone, Mermaid Lagoon, Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn
Snail: Frayed Burlap, Brushed Corduroy

I also added lots of lovely goodies from The Ribbon Girl:

Cheesecloth
Ophelia Lace
Malibu Blue 25 mm Satin Ribbon
23 mm Turquoise/White Spot Organza ribbon
20 mm Ivory Open Rose
30 mm Ivory Wild Rose
Small Blossom Turquoise
Rose Leaves

Whimsy Stamps January Release - Lee Holland - Hedgehog Couple

Hello!

My goodness time just keeps turning doesn't it? It's already time for Whimsy Stamps new release and since there was no new release in December. I know you have been looking forward to this one.

There are so many gorgeous rubber and clear stamps, fab dies and even a stencil...yup you heard it...a stencil! in this release that I was hard pressed to decide what I wanted to play with first. But this little hedgehog couple was just so darned cute that I just couldn't resist colouring it up with my distress ink markers. It's called Hedgehog Love from the Lee Holland Collection.  I think it's so perfect for any couple and would make a lovely card for Valentines, an anniversary, an engagement or even a novel wedding card, particularly if the couple love hedgies!

I coloured the 2 hedgies slightly different shades, because I didn't want them to look identical, I used Antique Linen for both for the lighter colour, but for their coats I used Walnut Stain for the one on the left and Ground Espresso for the one on the right hand side. I added a little blush to their cheeks and the inside of their ears with Worn Lipstick. I used Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy for the earth bank and a combination of Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters and Forest Moss for the grass banks, the trees and the foliage. The flowers are coloured with Worn Lipstick and
Picked Raspberry.

Originally I was going to cut them out with a heart shape die, but after playing around with that I decided I couldn't really make it work how I wanted to and went with a circle die to cut them out instead. The light wasn't great when I took my photos, so I've added an angled shot so that you get a better idea of the true colours.

I used some lovely papers from the Heart Painted 6 x 6 paper pad from Lemoncraft and made a card in my favourite softly shabby style, inking and distressing my papers with Walnut Stain DI,  I double layered the new Honeycomb Pattern Die (this cuts like a DREAM btw), cut it in half and popped the halves under the middle layer of my card. Once everything was layered up and stuck down I cut the Love Word Die - Scripted from last years release, 5 times and glued them all together with a quickie glue pen to make a chipboard style sentiment, adding that along the bottom of my image before finally adding some lovely embellishments from the Ribbon Girl.

Below I've listed all the items I used with some links to suppliers in the UK.

Hot pressed watercolour paper.
Vesrafine Ink - Black Onyx
Whimsy Stamps Hedgehog Love
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers
Size 000 Round Sable Watercolour Brush
Circle Dies

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow to share something made with a stamp from the clear stamps release plus that stencil that I mentioned, until then you can check out the makes from the rest of the design team.

Have fun!

Whimsy April Release Final Day - Elephant with Butterflies

Hi everyone! Well it's my 3rd post in 3 days, very unlike me, but honestly I was just blown away by this release.
You've probably already spotted my card for today, as it's been used as one of the banners for the new release, but I thought I would show you in more detail and share how I made it..

I just couldn't resist this cute little Elephant with Butterflies from Whimsy's Lee Holland collection. Isn't it sweet? So sweet that I thought it would make the perfect baby card. I think this would pass for a baby boy or girl and for a new arrival or a 1st birthday. Of course you could always colour the elephant in pink with matching papers if you wanted something more girly.

I stamped my image with Versafine Ink in Black Onyx onto Langton Hot Pressed Watercolour paper (140 lbs) and coloured it with my distress ink markers in Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Spiced Pumpkin, Crushed Olive, and Mowed Lawn, and cut out the shape with an oval die.

I cut a card base from plain white cardstock and then used the largest of the
from Whimsy, to cut out my design papers.

I added a little narrow spotted organza ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and cut a little lacy border with a Martha Stuart punch.

I added a few little fishtail banners under the border and cut a few tiny butterflies from some paper scraps with a memory box die.

I didn't edge anything with ink this time as I wanted to keep it very clean and fresh looking. I did add a little wink of stella to the butterfly wings, but once again I didn't manage to catch it on camera.

That's all from me today, but I'll be back on Sunday with a new challenge from The Ribbon Girls. Don't forget to check out the rest of the team's gorgeous makes here before you go and enter the great giveaway!

I'm adding this card to the following challenges:
