Hunky Dory

Hello!

I'm showcasing a couple of new products from the Whimsy Stamps August release on my card today.

For the background I used a rainbow of Distress Inks and the Teardrop Splash Stencil on a white panel and then stamped one of the large sentiments from the Cheeky Sentiments set, with Versamark ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder.

I stamped the smaller sentiments from the set on black card and embossed with white embossing powder.

After cutting my 2 panels, the larger on in black cardstock, I adhered to my card base and then attached my trimmed sentiments popped up on some narrow foam tape.

To finish my card I added some colourful enamel dots.

Whimsy July Release - Fireworks Stencil

Hello!

I have another quick card for you, this one uses the new Fireworks stencil from the July release at Whimsy Stamps, alongside the Celebrate die from the Word Dies Set and the Wavy Edgers Die Set.

First of all I inked a panel in a mixture of Faded Jeans darkened with a little Chipped Sapphire distress inks then sprinkled with a few drops of water and dried.
I used the Fireworks Stencil and some Nuvo Glimmer pastes to add my fireworks and once dry I cut the lower edge with the Edger Die. I cut another slightly larger piece of red card with the same die, to dit behind my background.

I used the celebrate die to cut out some silver glitter card and offset this on some red card stock cut with the same die. I glued everything to my white base card and then added some sparkly red Nuvo drops to finish. That's it!

Whimsy Stamps - Baby Love

Hello!

I have a sweet little card for you today, using the Giraffe Baby Love stamp by Whimsy Stamps.

This is a great card for so many different occasions, not just for a new baby.

I've also used the Cloud and Grass Edger dies and the Shaker Maker Combo die set from Whimsy Stamps to make my card.

I used a giraffe stencil from my stash to create the pattern on my frame using Vintage Photo and Antique Linen distress inks.

My stamp is coloured with Zig Watercolor Markers and I used a little Tumbled Glass distress ink to ad a little colour to the skyline.

Whimsy Stamps February Release Day 5

Hello!

I'm showcasing one of the new rubber stamps from the February Whimsy Stamps release today.

This is Teddy with Heart Balloon designed by Lee Holland and I've also used the new Star Galaxy stencil and some older Whimsy products. I've linked them all for you at the end of my post, just click on the picture to take you to the item in the store.

I stamped the bear with Vesafine Ink in Onyx Black and coloured him with my Zig markers and water, using Light Blue, Cobalt Blue, Pale Rose and Deep Red.
The background was made with distress oxides over the stencil, masking out the bear.

I stamped the love sentiment from the Cute Cupid set in Versafine ink, and cut out several letters in white cardstock using the Uppercase Alphabet dies stacking them and finishing with ones cut from patterned paper and adhering that above the love.

After cutting my panels and adhering them to my card base I finished off with a few clear sequins.

Whimsy Stamps - Forever Polka Dot

Hello!

It's been another hectic work week for me, with all the flu going around the hospital has been super busy to say the least. At least I have crafting to ease the stress!

I have a simple card to share today, no colouring on this one and no really fancy techniques.

I took a piece of white cardstock and some Distress Oxide inks in Broken Lipstick, Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry, my blending tool and the new Polka Dot stencil and made my background adding the colours at random all over through the stencil. I then stamped the large 'forever' stamp from the You're My Always clear stamp set in Black Versafine ink on top of my stencilled piece and cut it out with the 2nd largest die from the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangle die set. All links to Whimsy items can be found at the end of this post, just click on the image to be taken to the item in the store.

I stamped the rest of my sentiment from the same stamp set, onto some coral cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed with crisp white embossing powder, then cut into little banner shapes.

I made an A2 card base from the same coral cardstock, then cut a piece of black cardstock a little bigger than my panel and adhered everything on my card, sandwiching some craft foam between the black and coral for some extra dimension and adding the banners with some shallow foam tape.
To finish I added a few clear sequins.

I hope you enjoyed my post and thank you so much for visiting today!

CASE a card Monday - Polar Bear Pals

Hello!

It's been a while since I did a CASE a card Monday, so I thought I would pop one in today.

This shaker card was inspired by a card made by Debbie Olsen, you can find her blog here.

I used the Polar Pals stamp set again, which I fussy cut, not having the dies, theMFT Pierced Rectangle Frames, (which are no longer available I believe, although you can get stitched ones that are almost identical), and a couple of dies from Blueprints 15 and 20.

My skating bear is coloured with Zig Markers to coordinate with this lovely MFT paper.

The background for the shaker window is made using the MFT Cloud Stencil and Salty Ocean distress ink and the shaker selection is from Little Things by Lucy's Cards.

This is the card by Debbie that I cased. Unfortunately I couldn't find a direct link to the card on Debbie's blog, but I have linked to her blog above.

Handmade card from Debbie Olson featuring Birdie Brown Cool Day

That's all from now, but I'll be along later with some more Whimsy Inspiration for you.

See you later!

Whimsy Stamps July Release - Wee Stamps - Baby Giraffe

Hello!

I'm back again with my second card for today's release at Whimsy Stamps and this time it's super cute!

This is Baby Giraffe from the Wee Stamps Collection, isn't it adorable?

I stamped him/her on some Bristol Smooth card and watercoloured them with my Zig Markers.

Then I masked the image and used some vintage photo and a giraffe print stencil to stencil a background.

Finally I stamped a sentiment from the Scripty Occasions Sentiment Set and added a few clear sequins.

That's all for today but I'll be back tomorrow with more from the new release.

Thanks for visiting!

Paper Smooches - Guest Designer for July

Hello!

I can't tell you how excited I am to be joining Paper Smooches as their Guest Designer for the month of July.

I just love their cute and quirky stamps and dies.

Lucky me I got to play with the whole of the July release....whooohooo!

I have 2 cards to share with you today, the first is using the new Dove Die, this die is so versatile that I used it to make 2 different cards, but you'll need to wait for a later post to see the other one.

As soon as I saw this and the Religious Words 2 Dies, I knew what I wanted to do.

The dove of peace is such an icon, and if you know the story of Noah's Ark, you'll know that along with the dove there was a rainbow at the end as a symbol of hope, so I knew I wanted to make my hope word rainbow coloured.

I started with a piece of watercolour paper, and stenciled some clouds on with Broken China Distress Ink and cut it out with a stitched rectangle die. Then I took some plain white cardstock and die cut the dove 4 times, and gluing the outline together, stacking them up for dimension.. Then I took one set of the interior dove pieces and sponged it lightly with Broken China distress ink, concentrating the ink close to the bottom part of the dove.

I took a small piece of watercolour paper and blended Distress Inks in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple. I sprayed this with some gold glimmer mist (which is not showing up in the photo but looks lovely IRL), and once dry I cut it out with the hope die. I cut it twice more using white cardstock and layered them together to give the effect of a chipboard word.

I cut a rectangle of rainbow coloured patterned paper and stuck that to my card base and then adhered my panel to it with foam tape.

I stuck down my Dove and Hope dies to my panel and added a few gems to finish.

For my second card (I'm still all about the rainbow here) I took the same colours of distress inks and blended them on some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, and then cut out 3 x with one of the
Pointers Dies I also cut a few extras in white cardstock.

Then I tool some plain white cardstock cut it with a rectangle die and used one of the Pointers Dies to cut out the apertures. I glued this to some black cardstock cut slightly larger than my rectangle.
.
I then started to add back my die cut shapes, keeping them in rainbow order and adding more layers with the white cardstock die cuts to some of the layers and less to others for more interest, and glued everything in place. Then I added this panel to my card base with some craft foam in between (you could use foam tape if you prefer).

I cut 4 x the Cheers die from the Birthday Words Dies in black cardstock, gluing them all together and then adhering the stacked die cut to my card.

I added a few bright enamel dots to finish.

For those in the UK, you can get your Paper Smooches fix over at Dies to Die for.

I do hope you like them, I'll be sharing more Paper Smooches creations from the July release over the coming weeks.

Thanks for much for visiting!
