Sugar Nellie - A Little Bit of Gossip

Hiya! Hope you are all off to a good start with your weekend.  I'm swinging in for a quick share with a card I made for one of my team at work, who asked if I could make a card for a 3 year old who loves fairies.

As you know it's not often that I take on commissions, but I do if they fit in with what I like to create and this one was perfect for me so I said yes.

This is the card I made. The image is from Sugar Nellie, it's called A Little Bit of Gossip. I have a lot of fairy stamps and images, but their delicate little fairies seemed perfect for a 3 year old and she really suited distress ink colouring too I think.

I used some lovely papers from Lili of the Valley that I had in my drawer, and coloured her to coordinate with them, keeping my colouring very soft and delicate in keeping with the image.

Colours Used: Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Cracked Pistachio, Shaded Lilac, Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss, Fossilized Amber, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Festive Berries.

I added Wink of Stella to the fairy's wings as well as the letters of the name and the wings of the butterflies, but as usual I could not get the camera to pick up the lovely sparkle, you can just about spot it on the butterfly wings on the pick below (bottom right corner).

I finished off with some lovely embellishments from The Ribbon Girl

I'm entering this card into the following challenge/s

Right that's all from me, time for coffee I think!

Enjoy your weekend :) xx

Hey Little Birdie, A Creative Romance DT

Happy Friday to all my lovely followers and visitors.  I'm so very glad that this week is over, it's been hectic, stressful and downright depressing. At the end of last week I was on top of the world and regardless of being too busy to catch a breath everything seemed to finally be going right, then I came crashing down to earth last night with some awful news, I won't go into details here but Christmas was almost cancelled.  We managed to pull some of the worst of it out of the fire, but still Christmas is not going to be quite so merry as it was.  Ahh well, I dare say I'll bounce back in time, but anyway I'll stop whinging now and share my card.

It's time for a new challenge over at A Creative Romance, and as it's our last one for this year, both the teams have combined to make it extra special.  The theme is
'Sparkle at Christmas'
so we want to see lots of sparkle on your cards.  Here's my take on the challenge.

I used one of the new Sugar Nellie Christmas Fairies but avioded a Christmas sentiment so that the card could also be used as a card for a winter birthday, or  thank you card etc.
I've used a Martha Stuart Punch Around the corner set to shape the card, and a Go Kreate die for the base of the image. Other dies used are Magnolia Doohickey Die - Leaf and Swirl  and  La-La Land - Scalloped Border The gorgeous papers are by Maja, from my favourite collection

Crea Diem - With All My Heart and
True Friendship love, love, love these. They've all been inked with Pumice Stone DI and stitched with grey top stitch thread and plenty of stickles on the edge for more sparkle.

I just love this image, all the new fairies are fab tbh, this one is called Hey Little Birdie, isn't she adorable?  Sooo pretty, I coloured her with Copics as usual, but I tried to keep my colouring quite light, as she's really delicate looking.  I really must try out colouring with distress inks soon, I think they would quite suit this. I'd add them to my Christmas list, but my list is already so long I think Santa may end up with a hernia lol!
I've added lots of Glamour Dust to her hat, collar, cuffs and wings for plenty of sparkle.

Flowers, ribbons, button . twine and lace are from The Ribbon Girl. The bird charm is from my stash.

I finished off with some clear gems for ...yup, you got it...extra sparkle.

This card is for sale in my Etsy Store with some other recent ones.

I hope you like my inspiration for today, do head over to A Creative Romance to check out the rest of the teams creations, they are very drool worthy!  Why not join in our challenge, you can use any image, and can enter as many times as you like and combine with other challenges, as long as it's a new creation and follows the theme.  We have a fab prize on offer from our sponsors

Santa's Coming to Town at Crafty Catz

Good morning, it's finally Friday again!!  What a busy week I've had, and a busy weekend to come as I'm attempting to get some Christmas stuff done, visiting the Christmas market and having friends round to dinner...phew!

Well on to today's challenge which has been chosen by our lovely Nick is 'Santa's Coming To Town', this means your card must have at least one Santa on it, pretty easy at this time of year right?

Well unless you're me, I'm really not a Santa on your card kind of girl, so I didn't have a single Santa stamp :P

I was going to use an image printed on some lovely design paper I had, but then I stumbled across this stamp by Sugar Nellie which was available in digi, it was so sweet I decided to buy it....so I had my Santa....still couldn't bring myself to go with the traditional Santa colours though, as you can see on the card I made.

The papers are by Inkadoo, they're old ones I got a while back now you can get them on sale here at Dies to Die For.  I edged them with Walnut Stain DI and then stitched them by hand as usual.

The image is a Sugar Nellie digi called Little Helpers. I coloured it with Copics and used a Polychromos pencil for some texture on his outfit.  I've added some liquid applique to make the fur and some glamour dust to make the snow sparkle.

The Snowflake die I used for the corner is from Memory Box, it's called Frostyville Corner
I've glittered the Wild Orchid Craft flowers with Diamond Dust for that frost effect and used some pom pom trim, not really my usual style, but I found it in my stash and thought it worked well with the card.

I found this ribbon in my stash and the colours matched my card perfectly.  I finished off with a sparkly button and some twine and glued on the little stocking charm.

I hope you like my card, do pop over to Crafty Catz and show the rest of the DT  some love for their wonderful creations and join in with our challenge, we have a fab prize from our sponsor

Don't forget to check out my Candy before you go.

Enjoy the rest of your Friday! :) xx

Birthday Party

Ahh le weekend!  It's been super busy at work and I've been looking forward to some down time and time to craft.  Had a few projects and challenges in mind which I've just not had time to do, but now I can craft my little heart out.
I really should check my lottery tickets, I have 3 unchecked lol, I could be a millionare, but ofc once you check them you aren't...and while they're unchecked I can still dream right? ;)

I chose the image (Best Day Ever from Sugar Nellie) with the challenge from Wild Orchid Crafts in mind, but as I've entered her in several challenges and they only allow 3 including theirs (oops my mistake), I will have to enter another one for that lol. She's a Sugar Nellie image I coloured up in work as usual in Copics. I've listed the colours below.

Skin: E000, 00, 11, 21, R20
Hair: E50, 51, 53, 29
Dress, Shoes, Flowers and Presents: R81, 83, 85, B000, 12, Y00, 02
Mouse: E53, 51, 50, R11, 20

I made a shaped card with my one and only set of Go Kreate dies, must get more of these, another thing on my ever growing wish list hehe.
I added several layers to the card which consist of a large doily, another layer of (gorgeous Maja) DP cut with the smaller Go Create die from the set, some cheesecloth and more DP cut with a punch, some beautiful lace on top of that and then the frame cut with a nestie.  I fussy cut the image and mounted it with foam squares.
There's also a tag nestled between the yellow layer and the doily. I think I may have gone overboard on the layers now I'm typing them all out!
All the papers were distressed with Walnut Stain.

I added some flowers to match the colours I used, unusual for me to go for more than 2 colours but I'm entering a Fav Colour Combo challenge and I really couldn't decide lol. I added a small amount of Frantage in Shabby Pink on the edges of the frame and around the image.

The beautiful sparkly ribbon used for the bow isn't really done justice by the photos.
I've added some of the links to products used below, but I couldn't get Inlinkz to work with The Ribbon Girls or Wild Orchid Crafts. Ribbon and binding are from the former, flowers are from the latter.

I'm entering this card for the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, I do have another card ready to share, so that will be later tonight or tomorrow morning depending on what time I have.

Thanks for visiting xx
