Whimsy Stamps February Release Day 5

Hello!

I'm showcasing one of the new rubber stamps from the February Whimsy Stamps release today.

This is Teddy with Heart Balloon designed by Lee Holland and I've also used the new Star Galaxy stencil and some older Whimsy products. I've linked them all for you at the end of my post, just click on the picture to take you to the item in the store.

I stamped the bear with Vesafine Ink in Onyx Black and coloured him with my Zig markers and water, using Light Blue, Cobalt Blue, Pale Rose and Deep Red.
The background was made with distress oxides over the stencil, masking out the bear.

I stamped the love sentiment from the Cute Cupid set in Versafine ink, and cut out several letters in white cardstock using the Uppercase Alphabet dies stacking them and finishing with ones cut from patterned paper and adhering that above the love.

After cutting my panels and adhering them to my card base I finished off with a few clear sequins.

Whimsy Stamps July Release Sneak Peek - Lee Holland - Teddy with Presents

Hello!

I have one last sneak peek for you before the release goes live on Wednesday, and it's the second of Lee Holland's fabulous bears for this release.

I am so in love with these, you will have to wait till Thursday to see the third one though.

This one is called Teddy with presents.

These bears look fabulous coloured up in the traditional browns and beiges, but I really enjoyed colouring them up in different colours for a change in how they lookl.

My inspiration here was the patterned paper. I coloured this with my zig markers on Bristol Smooth paper butt  I don't have the colours I'm afraid,  as this was coloured some time ago before I got a little notebook to jot my colours down in.

The die cut word 'birthday' comes from the Sweetest Birthday Shaker Builder die set

Can't wait to show you the third bear, and I have lots more to share with you this week.
Thanks so much for visiting me.

Whimsy Stamps Sneak Peak - Lee Holland - Teddy Birthday Message.

Hello!

Our July release at Whimsy Stamps should have gone live yesterday, but unfortunately due to a small manufacturing hiccup we have had to delay it till next week.
Because I totally do not want you to miss out on how fabulous this release is, I'll be doing a couple of sneak peek posts between now and then so you can get an idea of just how much you want need some of these stamps.

So kicking off today I'm sharing Lee Holland's Teddy Birthday Messages.
Seriously, how cute is he? If you follow me on Instagram,  you'll have seen this little chap yesterday.

I stamped him onto some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, with Versfine Ink in Onyx Black, and coloured him up with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I wanted a change from all the brown teddies so I decided to make him purple. These bears look awesome in different colours.

Then a masked my image and used a brick stencil and one of my Clarity Stencil brushes to brush over a grey brick pattern to look like he's drawing on a brick wall, graffiti style.

I kept the card pretty simple just using some basic rectangle and border dies and some purple grid patterned paper which I thought went well with the theme. the whole lot is backed onto some purple cardstock keeping everything nicely tied together colour wise and I finished a few purple and clear sequins.

I hope you enjoyed my sneak peak today. I'll come back and add links for you once the collection is live and I'll be adding another sneak peak in the next few days.

Thanks for visiting!

Lee Holland - Puppy and Present

Hello!

We're having some very hot and humid weather in the UK at the moment, which tends to kill my crafting mojo somewhat, especially after a long hot bus journey home from work lol. Luckily I made a whole swathe of cards when my mojo was running at full speed.

For this card I used another of Lee Hollands adorable Puppies for Whimsy Stamps' June release.

I again coloured him up with Zig Markers, adding some detail with a white Posca pen and fussy cutting him out.

For my card I took a piece of Tim Holtz watercolour paper and stamped some paw prints with Versamark ink, heat embossing them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 colours of Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers, and blended them over the area I knew I wanted to place my image. I stuck the embossed piece to the front of a white A2 card base and then cut a piece of patterned paper with a border die and glued that at the top. I then rounded all 4 corners with my corner chomper.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Big Balloon Celebrations stamp set onto some white cardstock, with Onyx Black Versafine Ink and cut it out with the coordinating die.

I mounted my image and my sentiment on my card with some foam tape and finished my card with a few enamel dots.

Whimsy Stamps June Release Day 1 - Lee Holland - Puppy with Balloons

Hello!

It's day one of the Whimsy Stamps June release and I'm so excited to share with you because this new release is awesome!

No automatic alt text available.

There is so much to choose from, but for my first card I had to go with
I mean how cute is he?!

I coloured this little cutie up with my Zig Markers and water, I made the balloons 2 tone for a bit of extra interest. Once dry I fussy cut the whole image and then made a little background scene for him with distress inks, a blending tool and some creative masking and trimmed it with one of the

Then I had the idea of using one of the Balloon Dies from the older Big Balloon Celebrations die set, to cut 3 shapes from Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and blend some inks over them to match the puppy's balloons. I sprinkled a few drops of water and blotted for some added interest.

I adhered balloons to my inked scene and then popped my image up on top with some foam tape, then adhered the whole panel to the front of my card base with some craft foam in between.

I stamped 'hugs' from the Happy Sayings sentiment stamp set with black ink onto some white card, trimmed it and popped it just behind my image with a little foam tape.

To finish I added a few clear sequins.

I'm proper chuffed with the way this turned out and I hope you love it too.

There's so much to love about this new release, and if that wasn't enough, Denise has a fab offer in store at the moment where you get this fabulous stamp set absolutely free when you spend $75 or more in store.

You can find it here.

Whimsy Stamps January Release - Lee Holland - Hedgehog Couple

Hello!

My goodness time just keeps turning doesn't it? It's already time for Whimsy Stamps new release and since there was no new release in December. I know you have been looking forward to this one.

There are so many gorgeous rubber and clear stamps, fab dies and even a stencil...yup you heard it...a stencil! in this release that I was hard pressed to decide what I wanted to play with first. But this little hedgehog couple was just so darned cute that I just couldn't resist colouring it up with my distress ink markers. It's called Hedgehog Love from the Lee Holland Collection.  I think it's so perfect for any couple and would make a lovely card for Valentines, an anniversary, an engagement or even a novel wedding card, particularly if the couple love hedgies!

I coloured the 2 hedgies slightly different shades, because I didn't want them to look identical, I used Antique Linen for both for the lighter colour, but for their coats I used Walnut Stain for the one on the left and Ground Espresso for the one on the right hand side. I added a little blush to their cheeks and the inside of their ears with Worn Lipstick. I used Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy for the earth bank and a combination of Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters and Forest Moss for the grass banks, the trees and the foliage. The flowers are coloured with Worn Lipstick and
Picked Raspberry.

Originally I was going to cut them out with a heart shape die, but after playing around with that I decided I couldn't really make it work how I wanted to and went with a circle die to cut them out instead. The light wasn't great when I took my photos, so I've added an angled shot so that you get a better idea of the true colours.

I used some lovely papers from the Heart Painted 6 x 6 paper pad from Lemoncraft and made a card in my favourite softly shabby style, inking and distressing my papers with Walnut Stain DI,  I double layered the new Honeycomb Pattern Die (this cuts like a DREAM btw), cut it in half and popped the halves under the middle layer of my card. Once everything was layered up and stuck down I cut the Love Word Die - Scripted from last years release, 5 times and glued them all together with a quickie glue pen to make a chipboard style sentiment, adding that along the bottom of my image before finally adding some lovely embellishments from the Ribbon Girl.

Below I've listed all the items I used with some links to suppliers in the UK.

Hot pressed watercolour paper.
Vesrafine Ink - Black Onyx
Whimsy Stamps Hedgehog Love
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers
Size 000 Round Sable Watercolour Brush
Circle Dies

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow to share something made with a stamp from the clear stamps release plus that stencil that I mentioned, until then you can check out the makes from the rest of the design team.

Have fun!

Snow Family

Hello!

I made a little card with the adorable Snow Family from the Lee Holland collection.  Apart from the plain white and coloured cardstock, and the large shaped die to cut the card shape, everything on my card today is from Whimsy Stamps, so I've made a little list with links at the end of the post.

I coloured this sweet little family up with my distress ink markers:

Tumbled Glass (snow and snowmen), Carved Pumpkin, Broken China, Wilted Violet, Antique Linen, Hickory Smoke.

I have to admit that I had this image stamped up and partially coloured for a while now, but just couldn't decide what I wanted to do with it. I originally thought I'd make a shaker card, but then I thought there wouldn't actually be very much 'shaker' visible behind my snow family, so I didn't.

I used some papers from the Winter Wishes pad and used some of the matching enamel dots as centres for my snowflakes.
I do have to say that in the light the geometric snowflakes all matched my colouring, but as by the time I'm home from work it's really dark here, it doesn't look that way on the photograph, my lovely violet snowflakes look more burgundy!

The little sentiment is from the Penguin Adventure clear stamp set, I thought it was perfect for this little group.

You can buy all of these from Dies to Die for in the UK.

That's all from me today but you can find more inspiration here every day in the run up to Christmas!

Christmas Penguin in Red

Hello!

I'm so sorry I've been absent for a while. As you know my Dad died recently and I haven't really felt up to blogging and Facebooking, though I have been crafting a little as it's helped me to just immerse myself in that for a bit.

Anyway, I thought I would drop in quickly to share this little penguin card that I made a while back, this was actually one of my kits I put together for the Whimsy Craft Retreat in September and is a revamp of the card I made for the September release, but this time I went with red, white and grey.

I hope you like it, I've listed the things I used below as well as links to the places I bought them where possible.

Thanks for dropping by,

Lee Holland - Christmas Penguin

Hello!! It's almost the end of my working week and I'm very much looking forward to the weekend as it's been mega busy, lots of deadlines to meet and trouble to shoot. Luckily for me this card was made way in advance as it was designed for a Whimsy Stamps feature in a magazine.

The stamp, called Christmas Penguin, is designed by Lee Holland, who does just the most adorable animal drawings, and is part of our new September release.  It's another CAS card, I know, I know, I had to have a long sit down to recover from all the lack of flowers and bows and stuff recently lol.

It's coloured in distress ink markers and I used minimal colours here, you could even use the monochrome with a colour pop technique here, it would work very well.

Colours used were Hickory Smoke, Brushed Corduroy, and Broken China.

I cut him out with a postage stamp die and popped him up on a little foam tape. I didn't ink any edges this time as I wanted to keep it very clean and fresh looking.

The sentiment is from an older Whismy set called Simple Holidays which is sadly now out of stock.

For interest I just added some tiny snowflake dies, topped with a few small gems coloured with Copics to match, some Glamour Dust for sparkle and I layered some Grosgrain and sparkle Sugar Dot ribbon. The ribbons and the lovely papers from the Snow Queen pad are all from The Ribbon Girl.

I hope you like it, I'll be back tomorrow with more from the new release and this one isn't CAS!

Lee Holland - Mouse and Butterfly

Morning all! Our new challenge has gone live over at Deep Ocean Challenge and this time we want to see
'Things with Wings'

I've used a stamp from Whimsy's Lee Holland Collection from the July release called
Mouse and Butterfly,
(which like all of Lee's work is just adorable), and coloured it with my distress ink markers. I coloured this up a while ago now so I'm afraid I can't remember the colours exactly. I've also used one of Kay Fatula's beautiful butterflies from The Kreative Korner, so lots of wings on my card.

I've used some lovely papers and embellishments from The Ribbon Girl and I've listed those below. I inked the chipboard to tone in with my colour scheme.

I did use some Wink of Stella on the butterfly but as usual it has gone incognito in the photgraph!

That's all from me today but don't forget to check out the rest of the team's gorgeous creations and  I do hope you can join in with our challenge, you could win a lovely prize from our sponsor

I am Roses

See you soon!

Lee Holland - Hedgehog in Pot for Whimsy Stamps August Release

Welcome to day 3 of the new rubber release from Whimsy Stamps, and before I share my make with you I just have to say thank you to everyone who left me lovely messages about my partner and my Dad, thank you so much it meant a lot to me.
I've been a little absent on blogger the last week, because on top of everything else my PC decided to flake out on me. Oh my goodness, so not what  I wanted, as it made it almost impossible to post stuff and then of course the time taken out to fix stuff meant I couldn't spend that time crafting. In the end a restore wouldn't fix it and I ended up having to re-install the whole operating system. All seems ok for now, so I'm playing catch up.

Also I noticed that I have reached 500 followers! How exciting, so this weekend I will sort out some lovely candy to share with you all!

Now back to the new release. I used the uber cute Hedgehog in Pot from Lee Holland, isn't he adorable?! I actually have a hedgehog living in my garden at the moment, so I just had to colour this one up lol!

I decided to make an oval card with this one, I've not made one for a long time. I also knew as soon as I saw him that I was going to match him with some papers from Pion Design's A Day in May. I don't have a lot of this older collection left, so it takes something special to make me dig into it!

I used my distress markers to colour the image:

Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Tattered Rose, Tea Stain, Vintage Photo, Mowed Lawn, Old Paper and Shabby Shutters.

I used some lovely embellishments from The Ribbon Girl, and a lovely butterfly from Kay Fatula's Etsy shop.

That's all from me today, I'm off to dig out some candy, but don't forget to catch the rest of the team's lovely makes over in the Facebook group

Have a fab Friday!

Lee Holland - Beary Fun

Hello crafters!  I have a little Whimsy Stamps inspirational post for you today and I'm sharing one of my rare CAS cards.

This card was actually made for my Dad for Father's Day, but as it also appears in the new summer edition of the Whimsy Magazine, I couldn't share it until now.

The bear is from the Lee Holland Beary Fun set, you get 3 different cute bear stamps with this set and a whole bunch of sentiments to suit just about every occasion. The images can be used for just about anything, but I think they are also particularly suitable for male cards, and we all know how much I struggle with those sometimes.

It's coloured as usually with my Distress Ink markers and I stamped one of the sentiments from the set beneath my image.  I've used paper from the delightful Whimsy Stamps Summer Breeze 6 x 6 paper pad and matching Summer Breeze Enamel Dots.

I used the largest of the Whimsy Hand Stitched Nested Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut the patterned paper and a smaller Double Stitched Rectangle die from My Favourite Things to cut out the image which I popped up on some foam tape.

That's it, doesn't he look cute?! I just want to give him a little squeeze lol.

See you soon!

Lee Holland - Elephant with Flower for Deep Ocean Challenge

Hi everyone! I hope your week is going well.
Welcome to a new challenge over at Deep Ocean Challenge, this time we would like to see your makes with Dots and/or Stripes. Easy right? Your project can be anything, it just needs to have spots or stripes (or both) visible somewhere on your make.

I used both for mine, I have striped design paper and spotty ribbon, plus some added 'extra' with these enamel dots.

For my card today (it's CAS again, don't faint!), I used this adorable Lee Holland image from Whimsy Stamps, isn't he adorable?

I just love colouring up these cute animals in unusual colours, and I chose lilac (my fav as your know) and pink today and made his huge flower a lovely bright pink. I have to admit that for once I coloured the image before picking out my papers, but that's quite rare for me.
He's coloured with distress ink markers in the following colours:

Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Picked Raspberry and Pumice Stone. (I'm afraid I can't remember which green I used, it may have been Shabby Shutters).

I stamped out my sentiment on some white card and then cut it into sections and popped them up on some foam tape. This was initially because I couldn't get the sentiment to fit on the frame as it was, without it being partially obscured by the Ellie, but I rather like the look of how it turned out.

We would love to see you join in with our challenge,

you can win this great prize

A €10 Gift Certificate to Craft Heaven Shop

thank you Tina Makuc for sponsoring us!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Chocolate, coffee and cards - Stripes and Polka Dots
Alphabet Challenge - D is for Dots

Don't forget to pop across to the blog to check out the rest of the DT inspiration :) xx

Over the next 3 days we will showcase 11 brand new red rubber stamps, these are all available to buy from the Whimsy store and selected retailers, (in the UK you can get them from Dies to Die for).

Today I'm using Bunny on Present from Lee Holland. Isn't he just adorable?! I could just pick him up and give him a cuddle he's so cute!

I coloured him with distress ink markers and matched him with some older Pion papers from my stash. Love these colours.

Lee Holland - Elephant with Bouquet

Hi everyone. I have another CAS card to share with you today. This one is using the super sweet
Elephant with Bouquet
from Whimsy Stamps. I love Lee Hollands' animals, they are all so cute!
This card was featured in the new Whimsy Inspired e-Magazine. If you haven't checked it out, you really should, 50 pages of lushness and it's completely free!

First of all I stamped my image onto some water colour paper, this particular paper was a new try for me, but I wasn't happy with the way it took the inks so I won't be using it again, therefore I'm not listing it. I have another new one to try out in coming weeks so we'll see how that goes. I'm quite happy with my regular watercolour papers, but I like to try out new things now and then.

After colouring my image in with my distress ink markers, I cut it out with the largest die of Whimsy's new
Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles
and then shaped the bottom with the stitched curve die from the
Stitched Border Die Trio

If you're in the UK you can get this stamp and dies at Dies to Die for.

I cut out half of a rectangle out of a scrap of lime green design paper, and stamped the sentiment, (this is from an older whimsy set that's not available any more), with the same die I used for my image, sliding it underneath and filling in the missing part to make a full rectangle again, and mounted them both on a slightly larger rectangle of bright pink cardstock.

I mounted the whole thing with some adhesive foam tape on a a card base made with some plain white cardstock and measuring a quarter of an inch bigger than my pink cardstock.

Since this was a CAS card I embellished very simply with a few enamel dots I had in my stash and a little Wink of Stella on the butterfly wings (which of course doesn't show up in my photograph!).

I hope you liked my make for today, I'll be back later in the week with something in my usual style.

Happy crafting! :) xx

Lee Holland - Teddy Best Friends

Hi everyone! I have a super quick make to share with you today. As you know I usually shy away from CAS, and by shy away I mean run screaming lol, and well animals have not been my forte either. But lately I've been having fun colouring up animals and I decided to have a bit of a play with CAS as well.

I'm pretty happy with this, I think it's starting to make sense to me. It still makes me twitch a little, and I would never abandon my fussy cards, but sometimes it's just nice to make something in an hour or so and be able to send it flat in an envelope.  I used the following:

Langton Hot Pressed Watercolour Paper
Distress Ink Markers
Heavy White Cardstock
A scrap of deep aqua cardstock.

In the UK you can get your Whimsy stamps and dies from Dies to Die for

You get 3 bears in the pack plus sentiments, so I will certainly be making some more cards with these.

That's all from me today, I said it was a super quick share lol!

See you soon! :) xx
