Boho Chic at Dies to Die for and some exciting news!I

Happy Friday everyone, it's the weekend soon ..wheee!! and that can only mean one thing, it's time for my inspiration piece for Dies to Die for.

Today I'm using the delightful 'Boho Chic' a Dollhouse stamp from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.

This is my first time using one of the Dollhouse collection, but it certainly won't be my last, I just love them! In fact you'll be seeing more Little Darlings Rubber Stamps shares from me. I was going to wait until my first official post for them, but since Angie mentioned it the other night in the LDRS Facebook Group, I can't wait any longer to tell you that I've joined the Little Dralings Rubber Stamps Design Team!!! How cool is that? I have to say that when Angie asked me if I would join the team I barely let her finish the sentence before answering yes yes YES!  I was just a 'bit' excited :P So look out for my first post for them in April. I have to say there will be more of these lovelies available in May and you will NOT want to miss them, I'm in love with them already.

My choice of which stamp to use was driven primarily by the paper, as soon as I saw this fabulous flowery MME paper that came in my DT pack, I knew which stamp I wanted to use with it.

I've listed the products I've used at the end of my post along with links to take you directly there.

I coloured her with my Distress ink Markers.

Skin: Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick.
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Outfit and Bird: Festive Berries, Mustard Seed, Black Soot, Evergreen Bough, Bundled Sage

I used the new LDRS Dewdrop Circle die behind her, isn't it fab, look at that gorgeous embossing.

I thought this MFT die echoed those pinking edged circles on the paper perfectly!

The sentiment, which is also from LDRS, is framed by a Scrapberry's frame embellishment. These come in white but I colored it with one of my Copic markers, Tracy has only just got these in stock at Dies to Die for (lucky me I got to use one first!) but they should be available on the website really soon, maybe even this weekend :)

Before I go I just wanted to share one more bit of news with you (if you're on FB you will probably have seen this already). I got published! Very exciting and I'm just sharing a pic of one of my magazine posts below.

How exciting is that? It was for Die Cutting Essentials magazine. Not my very best work as it was a very last minute request, but still very exciting to be asked and find yourself in print.

On that note I'll bid you all adieu, but I will be back in a very short while with another post.

Take care! :) xx

Zoe Butterfly at Dies to Die for

Happy Friday all. Here we are again at the end of the week, I hope your week has been good to you.  Mine has been horrendous ....mostly because my boiler broke down last weekend and I've had no heating and no hot water, add to that the roadworks causing long delays on my journey home from work (it's taken me 2 hours to get home most evenings this week) and a couple of other issues, I'm more than glad to see this week come to an end.

But enough of my moaning. let's move on to my DT make for Dies to Die for which is MUCH more cheerful lol.

I used Zoe Butterfly, by Elisabeth Bell from Whimsy Stamps, isn't she pretty?

I coloured her with distress inks
Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Spun Sugar
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Gathered Twigs
Clothes: Scattered straw, Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers, Antique Linen
Balloons: Peacock Feathers, Spun Sugar, Fired Brick

and matched her to these lovely papers from the MME 6 x 6 pad Lost & Found - Find Your Wings and Fly. Papers have been edged with Walnut Stain distress ink and then hand stitched with top stitch thread.

I popped a couple of hot air balloons cut with a La-La Land die behind the image and added some lovely trims and flowers from my stash.

I also added some little enamel dots from MME, to match the papers.

I decorated the inside to complement the front.

List of products from the shop.

Stamp: Zoe Butterfly
Papers: MME Lost and Found - Find Your Wings and Fly
Walnut Stain Distress Ink
La-La Land Hot Air Balloon Die
Enamel Dots MME Record it - Follow your Heart

This card is for sale in my Etsy shop

That's all from me today, but I'll be back on Sunday with 2 more makes and some exciting news!

Have a great Friday! :) xx

Yuki & Serenity at Dies to Die for

Good morning! It's Tuesday...again...I don't know about you but the weeks seem to be whizzing by for me.  Looking at my DT diary I seem to be busy right up to September, but I do have a little holiday booked then and shall be taking a week off!

For my card today I chose to use a LDRS Saturated Canary stamp called Yuki. One thing I love about this stamp is that I've seen her used by various people and she always looks really different depending on how she's coloured up, colours, medium etc.  Since she has a Japanese name I decided to go with an Asian skin and hair tone and matched her to these beautiful papers by Bo Bunny, called Serenity. Totally not my usual type, but oh my I just love them.

I coloured her with Copics to match the papers, she has a great outfit that can take several different colours without looking like she's just thrown up on herself lol.

Skin: E50, E51, E53, E93, V95
Hair: W9, W7, W5, W3, BV 23
Clothing: BG13, BG11, BG10, BG0000, R59, R46, R22, YG99, YG95, YG93, YG91, W9, W7, W5, W3.

I added a touch of glamour dust to the lace ruffle on her skirt.

The black frame she's on is cut with the 2nd largest dies from the Simply B Scallops set.The lovely brad on the bow is MME -Lush. Sadly the black ones are out of stock now, but you can still get them in Pink, Green, Brown or Blue.

I thought that the Cherry Blossom Branch die from La-La Land Crafts, was very in keeping with the papers and I cut 2 in black card stock and popped them down in opposite corners, adding a few little self adhesive pearls.

All that was left to do was to pop a few flowers on et voila! I really LOVE the way this turned out, just goes to show it's always worth stepping out of your comfort zone now and then and working with something a little different.

Enjoy the rest of your week, I won't be here again till Monday, but I can assure you I'll be beavering away behind the scenes creating for La-La Land Crafts new release next week, very exciting I'm sure you'll love it!

Bye for now!  : ) x x

Daphne at Dies to Die for

Happy Tuesday all! I'm here with my Tuesday inspiration post for Dies to Die for.  It's back to work for me today so this post is scheduled, but I only have today and tomorrow in work and then I have a few days off as I'm visiting my parents.  This does mean no more cards from me for a week and a half as I won't be crafting (though I will be colouring images while I'm away) but I'll try and get my Blog Candy sorted before I go.

Anyway on to my project for today.  It's a card using the adorable Daphne by the talented Artist Sylvia Zet, love her images. I paired her with a gorgeous papers from MME.  I've listed all the items used from the shop at the end of my post, with links to take you straight to them.

I coloured Daphne up in Copics to match the papers, and cut an aperture in my paper with a Stax die to frame her. I inked all the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink and sewed them with top stitch thread.

I added some glitter to her wings and doted her with some liquid pearls in white opal.

I added a lovely bow cut with a Die-namics die and used a piece of a Prima embellishment in the top corner. I added a bit more Prima bling to the bow and a couple of corners.

I used a co-ordinating sheet of paper from the same pad to decorate the inside of the card, and added some plain white card cut with one of the stax dies.

Items Used

Well that's all from me for today, I'll see you again in 2 weeks time with some more inspiration to share.

Take care! : ) x x

Miss Sunkissed at Dies to Die for

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Did you all enjoy your May bank holiday?  I spent mine very quietly in my crafting corner mostly, but I'm really pleased with the cards I got made.

This is my very first time inking up an Elizabeth Bell image not because I don't like them but just because I've not had the opportunity to use one before, I get such limited time.  I must admit that being on Tracy's DT has been very good for breaking me out of just using the artists that I'm familiar with and my normal papers and embellishments too. I'd not been introduced to MME before I started there, and now I'm firmly addicted lol.

Anyway, my share for today is using one of the new Elizabeth Bell designs.  Links to products used are, as always at the end of my post.

These beautiful papers are MME - Lost and Found -Heirloom.  I used the matching pack of enamel dots for a perfect colour match.  The gorgeous filigree heart is from a La- La Land Crafts die.

I paper pieced her dress with some scraps of the same paper pack, I added a little detailing to the sleeves with liquid pearls. She's coloured with Copics, I used a slightly darker tone for her skin as she's 'Sunkissed'

Skin: E13, E11, E00, E000, R22, R20, R11
Hair: E41, E42, E43, E44
Dress R20, R22. R43
Heart: R12, R20, R22, R37

The heart took a lot of layers of ink before I was satisfied it looked plump enough.

, and stamped this Whimsy Sentiment on to a La-La Land Crafts tab.

Just a few flowers and some seam binding to finish and I decorated the inside of the card with another sheet from the 6 x 6 pad.  This one has a lovely sentiment and clear space on the lined paper, just perfect for adding your message. Well that's it from me today, enjoy the rest of your Tuesday and I'll see you again next week.
Have a thought for me today, because not only am I back to work but I've moved building and taken on a different job role, looking forward to it but it's going to be quite strange for a bit and I'm quite possibly going to get lost lol!

Bye for now!

Summer Fairy at Dies to Die for

Good morning and Happy Tuesday to you! I'm here with my Tuesday post for Dies to Die for.  If you popped in on me yesterday, my creation today is just about as different as you can get.  It's not very often that I use really bright colours, but these papers just cry out to be used and hey, she's called Summer Fairy after all. Besides, the last time I used her I coloured her in black & white with just a hint of pink, so it was nice to do her in colours this time.

The papers are a mix of 2 different MME pads, links to products can be found at the end of my post as always. The quality of these papers is lovely to work with.

I coloured her with Copics which are think are the best choice for bright colours and decided to get funky with her hair.  Her hair is absolutely wonderful to colour up, such fun!

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R11
Hair: BG10, BG11, BG23, BG57, BG18
Clothing: YR20, YR23, YR24
Wings: YR20, YR23, R11, R12, R20, BG 10, BG11, BG23

I didn't over embellish as the papers were bright and busy, just a few flowers and some MME brads in the corners. I finished off with a bow from a scrap of ribbon from my scraps box and popped a little Prima bling on the top. The sentiment is from Whimsy and is cut with a matching die. Lastly I added a flurry of tiny butterflies cut with a Memory Box die.

I decorated the inside as usual with papers to complement the front.

Well that's all from me today, don't forget to sign up for my blog candy here if you haven't already, there's just over 2 weeks now till I draw a winner, and I'll see you all next time.

Enjoy your day! : ) x x
