Tilda in Havana, Seeing Red for Marvelous Magnolia DT

Happy Thursday all! It's sooooo close to the weekend and my week off work I can almost taste it lol, but I'm here today with my DT card for Marvelous Magnolia.

This week the challenge is Seeing Red, so we want to see some red on your project...not hard with Valentine's Day just around the corner...of course it needn't be a Valentine's card, but it must have some red on it.

For my card I used some wonderful Pion Papers and Tilda in Havana and for a change I coloured her in Distress Inks.  I'm not 100% happy with the way she looks, but I'm still very new at DI colouring, so I hope to get better, I  really have to stop myself colouring the same way that I do with my Copics, it's a very different process. There's links to items used at the end of the post, all flowers and ribbon are from The Ribbon Girl.

I sat her in some of my Spellbinders nesting hearts. I think this card with the postcard and stamps woudl make a nice 'missing you' card, or a 'wish you were here'.  The postcard, tags and little stamps come from element sheets, love that Pion do this.  The border of the card at the edges is cut with a Doohickey Die and given a treatment of Tattered Rose DI.

Love this bow, I must admit this ribbon isn't my usual type, but it's gorgeous and it makes lovely bows holding it's shape really nicely.  The bling is Prima.

A view of the sweet little tags, I hand cut them from the sheet and mounted them on some stiff cardstock.

A view of the inside, with paper this pretty there's no need to do much embellishing, and there's plenty of space to write a message.

So that's my inspiration, do visit the rest of the DT, their creations are stunning this week, and we have some new girls on the team too, so show them some love.

Tilda with Bunny Balloon for Marvelous Magnolia

Happy Thursday folks!  Just one more day till the weekend!  Weekends for me (among other things) mean more time to craft, so I'm always looking forward to them.

Anyhooo...today starts a new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia and it's another easy one.  Pretty Pearls, we want to see pearls of some sort on your project.  Easy right?

I was have one of my 'try something different' moments when I made this card and really wanted to try out a card with folds.  I went for a 'magic' card I've seen a few and they always look pretty.

I followed this basic tutorial but I changed the dimensions slightly. It came out like this.

I used Tilda with Bunny Balloon, one of the new stamps from the Magnolia Lost & Found collection.  I think she's just adorable.  I paired her up with some beautiful Pion paper. This is Poem of Spring from the Fairytale of Spring collection, the delicate colours are just lovely.

I went a little overboard with the pearls lol, but it is the theme of the challenge and I really thought that they suited this style of card.

With this style of card you really need to decorate all of it with DP as it's pretty much all on show one way or another as you can see from these photos.

I stamped her again inside the card, there's still plenty of room to write a message, and added a sentiment to the underside of the flap.

I even decorated the back!

I do hope you'll join in our challenge which runs for the next 2 weeks, we have 3 great sponsors
The Rubber Buggy, Stamping Tilda, Scrapbooking Boutique
who are offering some fab prizes.  Pop over to the blog to check it out and while you're there take a look at the work of my fellow DT members, they really are fantastic!

Well that's it from me for today, enjoy the rest of your Thursday, I'll be back on Sunday with my midway reminder post for Totally Tilda. : ) x x

Sneaky Tilda at Marvelous Magnolia

A big hello to my lovely followers old and new :) Talking of new...have you seen that I have almost 100 followers now? I'm soooo excited!  I think I will probably say thank you with a little Candy when that happens.   Also I will have some big news for you next weekend but I can't say anything for now so you'll have to wait till the 18th/19th.  Also I've been asked by several people to do a tutorial for the book card I posted this week.  As I work full time at a teaching hospital during the week and have a 90 minute journey both to and from work, I find it hard to fit in the time to craft even some weeks, so I haven't had time to do any tutorials this far, but I have a week off work on the 10th February, so i do plan on making one then.  It will be nothing fancy, just a step by step with photos, I'm not quite brave enough for video yet! lol

Anyhoo....enough waffling. The reason I'm here today is to share my card for Marvelous Magnolia's new challenge.  It's a very easy one, lovely lace, and from this challenge onwards we're changing to a 2 week challenge, so you will have 2 weeks to enter, so there, you have no excuse now! Hehe.

This is what I made, as usual I ended up covering a lot of my lace with other embellishments, but you can see there is a lovely purple lace and a crocheted lace with a velvet trim. So if you're like me, do make sure that we can see your lace so you qualify for the theme : )

I used the beautiful Maja Design papers, Fika collection.

This is Sneaky Tilda, one of my stamps I got for Christmas. I loved the papers so much I decided to paper piece her outfit to match! A little glamour dust for sparkle and a touch of Aged Wine frantage to frame her.

See I did still leave some lace exposed! lol

I decorated the inside to match too.  Most of my embellishments on this card are from one of our sponsors this week.
They're offering a £10 voucher to our winner.

Welcome to the Ribbon Girl - to help your craft budget go further we always sell our buttons, flowers, diamantes, pearls, flatbacks, crystal stems, charms and embellishments in small quantities so you can mix and match with more choice! Seam binding is sold in 5 metre bundles. Divine Bakers Twine and button twine in 10 metre bundles. All of our beautiful ribbon and lace is sold by the metre and when you need more than one, we supply in a continuous length whenever possible.

We also have another 2 sponsors!

and

So that's 3 fab prizes for you to win!

Do pop over to our blog and give the other girls in the DT some love, they've made some wonderful creations to inspire you, and why not join in with us, it's an easy challenge and you have 2 weeks to get your entries in!

Enjoy the rest of your day : ) xx

Wrapped Heart Tilda

Happy Boxing Day everyone, this is a scheduled post and as this goes live I'll be in the middle of Christmas Dinner with my family (my grown up children spent the day with their father, grandfather and my daughter's boyfriend's family down in London yesterday, so I'm having my 'official' Christmas Day today instead).

I'm here with my DT post for Marvelous Magnolia.  We're still running our challenges as Anything Goes to make it easier on you during the Christmas Holidays when everyone is so busy and with that in mind our current challenge is running for 3 weeks, this is week 2 so still plenty of time to enter. This is my mid-challenge inspiration and as I don't want to see another Christmas card for a month or so, I decided to make an early start on some Valentine's cards, using Wrapped Heart Tilda and some stunning Pion Design papers.  In fact this paper was sooo pretty I tried hard not to over embellish so that you could still see it clearly.  I've included links to most products used at the end of this post.

I've stitched all my papers as usual and edged them with Tattered Rose DI.

I paper pieced the wrapping on the heart.  Copic colours used are:
Skin: E0000, 000, 00, 11, 93
Hair: E40, 31, 35, 39
Clothes: R00, 11, 12, 14, W0, 1

Flowers and pearls are from The Ribbon Girl.

This paper is all from the same 12 x 12 sheet, it contains 4 of 6 x 6 designs on the same sheet, I used some of 3 designs on this card and still have some left to go towards another card. Isn't it beautiful....I nearly hyperventilated cutting into it lol!

I cut the same shape that Tilda was mounted on for writing a message on the inside and stamped the edge with a Kaisercraft texture stamp, I'm sorry I can't remember what this one is called or where I got it from, I thought it went well with the design on the paper.

Well that's it for me, hope you enjoy your Boxing Day if you're in England, so pop across at some point to look at the rest of the DTs creations, they're absolutely gorgeous, and if you have some time after the Christmas festivities, do join in with our challenge, it's an Anything Goes again, so nice and easy and still 2 weeks to get your entry in!

I'm entering the following challenges:

Take care, hugs :) xx
