Zoe in Paris, Shaped Cards at Deep Ocean Challenge

Good evening (insert correct greeting for time zone here), it's time for a new challenge over at
and for this fortnight the theme is

Shaped Cards

You can use any image (or no image at all) but it must be a card and it must be shaped (so no squares or rectangles and yes I know they're a shape but we're looking for a shape that's different from the standard).

Now anyone who has been following me for a while will know that this is not a hard theme for me.  I do love a shaped card, in fact I think I must make shaped cards more than square even. So to give myself a bit of an extra challenge, I decided to make another easel card. My friend and team mate Jenny makes the most amazing easel cards as does another friend from another DT Gina , but they are not something I make a lot of, partly because of the extra time involved, but I do love them.

I decided to colour up Zoe, from Saturated Canary, with distress inks to match these gorgeous papers that came in my Dies to Die for DT pack.  I have had to restrain myself from buying a pad of these simply because I have so much paper and so little space lol, but honestly I'm not sure how long I'll be able to resist, they are sooooo pretty and so versatile!

Instead of putting the usual tag or label shape in the middle to old the 'easel' back, I decided to carry on the photography theme on the front to the inside and used these die cuts at the sides to lock the card behind, I'm quite pleased with how it came out.

Zoe is such a gorgeous image,  this digi cames in a pack of 5 and they are all gorgeous!  I blew her up reasonably large and cropped her, then once she was coloured in I fussy cut her and placed her so she looks like she is about to step out of a photo.  The polaroid die and all the accessory dies came from the .....La-La Land Club Kit. It's no longer available but this set of dies from the November 2014 kit,  should be released sometime after November 2015, so look out for them! The love die is also from La-La Land but not part of a club kit, so you can get that now, it come as part of a set with the Hanging Hearts Dies.

This is a view of what the card looks like when it's closed.
A few close ups for you.

GDT - Marvelous Magnolia Birthday Bash

Good morning to all my wonderful followers and visitors.  I bet your surprised to see a post from me on a Monday no?  Obviously this post is scheduled as I shall be beavering away at work when this goes live.

What's the reason for posting on a Monday I hear you cry, well it's simple, I was recently asked by the fabulous Rina, to guest and make a card Marvelous Magnolia for their Big Birthday Bash, of course I said yes!  If you're not familiar with Marvelous Magnolia, they're an awesome Magnolia only challenge blog that runs new challenges weekly with fab prizes.  Currently for their birthday bash they're having a special celebration, not only are they holding their usual challenge (running for 2 weeks this time), but also all the DT ladies are offering their own creations (and really they are amazing) as special prizes, not content with that they've been having a guest designer every day for 10 days and if you leave a comment on the GDT post you have a chance of winning a prize from that sponsor!

This is the card I made.

I decided to make an oval easel card, using some large Spellbinders dies.  Papers are by Bildmalarna. All are inked with DI in Pumice Stone and stitched with white Top Stitch thread. The hot air ballon is made with a La La Land Crafts die, I've added a little frantage in Shabby Pink.

This little cutie is Celebration Tilda, isn't she gorgeous?  I've coloured her with my Copics and added a little Glamour dust for sparkle. She's sitting on a die-cut made with La La Land Craft's String of Hearts Die.

The tag is Magnolia DooHickey So Wrapped Lovely. I've added pink seam binding and rolled ribbon roses from The Ribbon Girl.  You can just see the Heart Doily Border also from LLLC peeking out behind the tag and flowers.

The rest of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The inside is decorated with matching papers.  The stamps and die used to make the tickets are from Whimsy and the little heart scrabble tiles are also from a Whimsy stamp set.  The whole card has been finished off with some hand coloured pearls and some Prima pearl flourishes.

I do hope you like my card for the Big Birthday Bash at Marvelous Magnolia, don't forget to pop across and leave a comment on the post there, you have a chance if winning a prize from

Tilda Skating

Evening folks.  It's been scorching again here in the UK, even up here in Leeds, I thought my brain might explode today I was so hot lol, it would help if the windows at work would open more than 6 inches I guess.

Anyway looking at this card makes me feel a little cooler...in my mind at least!!

Yup, another Christmas card, I'm so organised this year lol!
The silver spider web behind the image I picked up somewhere on my travels, the paper is Sweet Christmas Dreams - Sweet Flurry Blue, the lace and vintage binding is from The Ribbon Girl and the label die is Magnolia Doohickey Die - Jolly Labels from Dies to Die For

The image is Sweet Christmas - Ice Tilda from Sir Stampalot  their delivery service is fab...free if you've ordered over £40 and always arrives the following working day, no waiting for your new goodies.  I've coloured her in Copics, I'll post the colours later when I go remind myself what they were.

As you can see I made an easel card this time and used the same label die for my sentiment on the inside, sorry the quality of the pics is not the greatest, the light was starting to go a bit by the time I took them.

The snowflake die is one I've had for a while, it's by Marianne Design and I think you can still get it.  I used it to make my first ever handmade cards last Christmas, which took me forever...but I was new to crafting cards and I didn't start early enough by far either.  As you can see I'm starting early this year hehe.

I hope you like my effort, please leave me a comment if you come visiting, I'm starting to feel quite lonely lol!  I'm entering this card for the following challenges:

Thanks for dropping by *hugs*
