Set of 3 Baby Cards

Hello!

I'm running behind today, typing this post in my lunch break at work lol!

I made 3 very simple baby cards using the MFT Stamps Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics, the MFT StampsWelcome Baby sentiment set,  the MFT Stamps Country Fair Plaid paper pack, some white cardstock and a few enamel dots.

I also usedMFT Stamps Blueprints 15 and 20 for the rectangle dies and a stitched circle die. You could substitute any large rectangle dies.

Making them was very simple. I made a US A2 topfolding vertical cardbase in white cardstock, and then cut 3 rectangles (with Blueprints 20) and 3 items of baby clothes from the white cardstock.

I then cut 3 large rectangles (using Blueprints 15), a circle and the little embellishments for the clothes from my patterned paper.

I adhered the large rectangle to my card base with my tape runner. I glued the circle to the white rectangle and then stamped a sentiment in black ink below it. I adhered some craft foam to the back of my smaller rectangle and adhered that to the patterned paper.

I mounted the baby clothes to the circles using some foam tape for dimension, and then glued on the embellishments with a little Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

Finally I added a few enamel dots in matching colours.

These really were super simple and quick to make.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Congrats - baby

Hello!

I couldn't resist making another card with the adorable Bundle of Baby Clothes die set from My Favorite Things.

This time I kept the card fairly flat and went for more boyish colours. I love the way this turned out and really it did not take a lot of time at all.

I've gone pure MFT here apart from the little enamel dots for buttons and those little pegs which are from a Lawn Fawn set because when I looked for the tiny little die from the MFT set I couldn't find it. Of course it turned up later stuck to something else, but by that time the card was made and finished lol.

Items Used

Small piece of black cardstock
Small piece of kraft cardstock

That's all from me today, thank you so much for dropping by!

Baby I Can't Wait to Meet You

Hello!

I'm sorry I've been rather absent lately, life just got really busy. Work is kind of mental at the moment and I've been giving the spare room a bit of a makeover to finally give myself a dedicated craft room while also retaining the use as a spare room for when family visits. The planning for that was not easy I tell you! Then just recently my Mum came for a visit and naturally all my attention was for her.

My room is now done, my Mum has returned home and while work is probably still going to be mental for a while, at least I've had a chance to recharge my batteries, so you should be seeing more of me now hopefully.

I have a fair bit of DT work to catch up on, but in the meantime I have a LOT of CAS cards in my draft folder to share, so I'll do this over the next couple of weeks as I catch up with everything else.

I bought the MFT Bundle of Baby Clothes dies as soon as they came out because I just fell in love with them. I also liked the idea that you could create quick cool cards with no colouring involved, cutting out a time consuming step. Don't get me wrong, I love colouring, but sometimes I just want to pick up stuff and start creating without going though the colouring process first.

I've actually made several different cards with these dies, they are so versatile, and whilst I've made all 'New Baby' cards, there's no reason why you couldn't use them for a baby's first birthday as well as birth, baby shower and christening cards.

I just used the bib and washing line dies from the set in this card, I also used a few different products and I've listed them below along with links to where I bought them in the UK where available.

Smooth White Cardstock
Bubblegum Pink Cardstock

Welcome Little One

I'm popping in again with a quick post to share this sweet little baby card. I've been making a lot of baby cards recently as I always seem to get asked for them and never have them to hand, and well, they're so much fun to make.

I decided to follow the sketch over on the MFT Card Challenges Blog, it's Sketch 321 if you want to use it.

Here's my card
I coloured up one of the bunnies from the Snuggle Bunnies set, with my Zig Clean Markers, as I thought it was just perfect for a baby card.

For my card I used

Smooth white cardstock,
Versafine Ink Onyx Black
Zig Real Clean Color Markers
Craft Foam
Sequins from Lucy's Little Things and Pretty Pink Posh

If you're in the UK you can get your MFT Stamps, Die-namic, Cardstock and Paper Pads over at

I'm entering this into the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #321

Right that's it from me, time to go make dinner!

Thanks for visiting

Deep Ocean Challenge - Something New

Hello and happy Tuesday. No Technique Tuesday from me today as I have rather a full week going on, with the new release from Whimsy stamps and a couple of challenges going live.  But I have a lovely one lined up for next week and something for you almost every day on my blog this week, so you won't be missing out too much.

So the first challenge of the New Year over at Deep Ocean is
Anything New

Now I could have used some of my new stash but the timing was a little awkward, however I thought, 'What's newer than a new born baby?' and so I made this sweet and simple little baby card in soft aquas and mints that make it suitable for either a girl or a boy.

Oh and I did use my new Clarity stencil brushes to do the ink blending too!

After blending my inks I cut it out with a postage stamp die and then stamped a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Scripty Occasions Set , adding a few little stars in the corners from the Big Ballons Celebrations Set, and mounted the base layer on a top folding 5.75 x 4.25 inch card base. Then I cut and embossed the Baby Clothes die from Memory Box. I inked the the apertures when the die cut was still in the die to accentuate the little stars and heart.
You can buy these dies and stamps in the UK from Dies to Die for
.
Finally to finish off I  added a few sequins. in aqua and white.

I do hope you can join in with the challenge, we are being sponsored by the lovely and generous ladies over at The Ribbon Girl
and you can win this lovely prize!

That's all for now but I'll be back tomorrow with some goodness from Whimsy Stamps' January release!

Bye for now

Lili of the Valley - Just Arrived

Hello everyone!

I thought I would give the wedding cards a bit of a break today and pop in to share a little baby card I made using one of the cute Lili of the Valley baby stamps called Just Arrived and some Carta Bella papers from my stash....yup I'm  trying to wade my way through the masses of papers I seem to have accumulated over just 3 years!  It's crazy isn't it how much we gather and ferret away and forget we have or keep just because ...well...we can't bear to cut into it lol.

I've coloured this super cute stamp with my distress ink makers to match the colours in the papers.

As it's a boy card, I've kept the embellishments fairly simple, just adding some narrow lace beneath the leayers, and a brightly coloured bow and coordinating buttons to match the papers .

I didn't ink around or distress the edges this time as I wanted to keep everything very clean looking.

(This is in the sale so grab it while you still can!)

Unfortunately the blue buttons are no longer stocked.

I hope you like it and I'll see you again next time!

Masculine at The Ribbon Girls

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you're all enjoying the weekend, I know I am.

Today we have a new challenge over at The Ribbon Girl, and this time for our
Anything with an Image
challenge we're wanting to see masculine makes. This is an ideal time for these with Father's Day just around the corner, BUT I absolutely suck big time at male cards, so I cheated a little and made something for a baby boy, because with baby's stuff you can still go kind of pretty can't you?

I'm still on a bit of a mini album kick, so I made an upright TP Mini.  For those of you that don't know, TP stands for toilet paper roll as this mini is supposed to be made from the cardboard tubes from the insides of your toilet paper rolls. In the end due to several reasons, including my toilet paper rolls being very small, I didn't actually use the toilet paper rolls, but made my own 'tubes' from heavy weight cardstock.

I really love how this turned out. I used mostly the 6 x 6 papers from the Maja Vintage Baby collection along with one 12 x 12 sheet and went for a slightly distressed Shabby Chic look.

Each tube contains a large tag with room for photos and journaling.

I used the following Ribbon Girl products on my project:

I also used the following:

I have a video of this project here , apologies for the quality of this I'm still trying hard without an optimal set up and hope to have better quality videos as I add equipment and get a permanent set up.

I do hope you can join in with our challenge. As usual we have two fabulous prizes, the first is a stamp of the winners choice from our generous friends at Lili of the Valley who have some beautiful images to choose from, and a £10 voucher from The Ribbon Girl for the randomly chosen winner of the challenge

and don't forget to check out the rest of the team's fabulous
makes before you go :) xx
