Wryn - Hopping By

I can't believe it's been a week since I posted, sorry I've been so quiet, I've had a lot going on lately and I've been trying to catch up also on some much needed sleep.

It's another CAS card from me today. This is my daughter's birthday card and I don't usually make her a CAS one, but as I wasn't seeing her on her actual birthday, this one had to go in the post so I wanted to keep it flat enough for an envelope.

I used some Kaisercraft papers from an old pad in my stash, the bottom sentiment is from the same pad, the top sentiment is from Amy R stamps and the enamel dots are from Whimsy Stamps.

I coloured Hopping By Wryn from Tiddly Inks with my distress ink markers in colours to match the papers.

Colours:
Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Crushed, Olive, Shabby Shutters, Carved Pumpkin, Fired Brick, Pine Needles, Lucky Clover, Hickory Smoke.

I sponged around the edges of the image with Pumpkin Seed distress ink.

That's it! Super simple but I think she looks effective, even though him indoors groaned and made faces at my punny sentiment.

That's all for today but I'll be back tomorrow with some Candy to share.

Bye for now!

Wee Stamps - Rudolph @ Whimsy Stamps

Hello to all my followers new and old and I hope you all had a very happy Christmas and New Year's holiday. It's my last day at home today (though I was also in work between Christmas and New Year's), I go back to work tomorrow.

Today is a special day though, I'm sure the more eagle eyed of my regular followers have already spotted the Whimsy Stamps DT badge on my side bar, but today is my first official post for them as part of the Design Team.

As things have calmed down a little the last few weeks, a guest spot has finished and I've managed to organise my time a little better, it's given me a little time to take up an offer from the super sweet Denise of Whimsy Stamps.
I've guested for them a couple of times before, and she has offered me a DT spot previously, but unfortunately I just had too much going on to take it on then, so I'm super happy to be able to join the team now. This will initially be for 6 months from January to June, so I hope you will enjoy seeing all my Whimsy makes here.

To kick off my first post I'm sharing a Christmas card (yes, yes I know, but I was late making them so I'm late sharing them lol and anyway, it's never too early to start on this years right?!), made with Wee Stamps adorable little Rudolph.

I have to admit that I just fell in love with this little guy as soon as I saw him, I mean, how could you not? Isn't he cute?

I coloured him with my distress ink markers to match these pretty Kaisercraft papers - Silver Bells.

Colours used: Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Rusty Hinge, Hickory Smoke. Forest Moss, Antique Linen, Festive Berries, Walnut Stain, Tumbled Glass.

I added some Glamour Dust to the bauble and bead, (I think this is actually a berry, but I wanted a little more sparkle on my image).

I added some beautiful embellishments from The Ribbon Girl, the sentiment is from the paper pack.

I don't have a photo of the inside of the card this time as I'd already written it out before I took photos duh!

Wee Stamps - Little Helper

Hi everyone! Are you nearly ready for Christmas? I'm almost there now, but there still seems a lot to be done yet and I'm still at work next week until Christmas eve.

I'm still catching up on posting all my Christmas cards here, so you may be a little bored of the theme before Christmas is over lol!
This one could also be used for a winter birthday or a thank you card though, as the image is wintry rather than Christmas specific.

The image is called Little Helper, and is a digi drawn by the lovely and talented Sylvia Zet, isn't the little fairy just the sweetest thing? Love her little mouse friend too. You can buy her here.

I used more papers from the Kaisercraft Silver Bells paper pad, I LOVE this collection! Soooo pretty.
The colouring is done with my beloved distress ink markers, on Canson Montval watercolour paper.
I used, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Tumbled Glass, Victorian Velvet, Hickory Smoke.

I used my Clear Star...pen to accent and lashings of Glamour Dust superfine glitter on her wings and the snowballs, for plenty of sparkle!

I used the following Ribbon Girl embellishments on my card:

Cheesecloth
9 mm Colonial Rose Velvet Ribbon
38 mm Vintage Pink Fluted Edge Sheer Ribbon
Ivory White Magnolia Flower
Tulip Flower Baby Pink
Chrysanth White Kort and Godt
65 mm Louise White Guipure Lace
20 mm Pink Open Rose
10 mm Double Row Ivory Pearl FB Trim

All the rest are from my stash.

Many thanks for visiting and don't forget to sign up for my Candy before you go, there's just 5 more days to go until it's drawn!

Bye for now :) xx

Wee Stamps - Lullaby

Hi everyone, sorry I've been absent for a few days, it's all been very hectic in my life lately, work has just been super busy and I'm been shattered on returning home at the end of the day. Luckily that should ease up a little as we get to the end of next week and I'll have time to catch my breath.

I've had this card made for a little while, I just haven't had a chance to blog it, so I'm sharing it with you today as my Ribbon Girl post.

This is a digital stamp from Sylvia Zet of Wee stamps, you can purchase Sylvia's digital art here. Or if you prefer stamping by hand Whimsy produces this stamp in rubber and you can buy it here.

Isn't she divine?  I decided to use these gorgeous papers from Kaisercraft . They're from a 6.5 x 6.5 pad called  Silver Bells.

I coloured her with my distress ink markers and wanted to keep the colours very light and delicate, in keeping with the image and papers.

I used lashings of Glamour Dust on her wings for sparkle and for the snow I used liquid applique and dusted it with Twinklets Glitter before heating to puff up.

This fabulous glittery ribbon made the perfect accent, tied in a double bow.

The little Snowflakes are cut with a set of dies from Le-La Land Crafts and I accented each one with a pink gem.

I finished off with some pretty flowers and decorated the inside simply with more paper from the same pad.

That's all from me today, I have a few cards that I need to share, so hopefully I will get some time to share those in the coming days. Before you go don't forget to check out the Blog Candy I'm giving away here if you haven't already!

Big hugs :) xx

Kaisercraft Time Machine - Memory Book/Mini Album

Hi everyone, just popping in to share a little something with you I made recently for a favourite work colleague who's just retired.

I do apologise in advance for the quality of the pictures, I did want to take proper pictures and a video of the finished item, but it was very difficult to get it all together in time with people contributing messages and stuff who were spread out over 2 completely separate hospital sites on both sides of the city. So I ended up having to take photographs in situ after it was gifted to the recipient, and obviously that means no video and the photos are not the best and have stuff in the background!  But I hope you can get an idea of what the completed project looked like. I didn't get pics of every page because I just took a few super quick shots, but it should give you an idea

Now as my regular followers will already know, I hate making male orientated stuf...like with a vengance...BUT, because I found this wonderful paper from Kaisercraft called Time Machine, and went almost a little bit steampunk, I really got into making this.

You'll have to forgive the background, as I said I had to take it in a place of work, and had to choose somewhere there was plenty of light! I used a combination of die cut gears, using  La-La Land Crafts Steampunk Heart Cogs and  Cheery Lyn gears which sadly aren't available any more. I also used some Tim Holtz metal gears and sprokets and some little screw heads from Prima.

I used a La-La Land Crafts  Steampunk Border to edge my pockets and I used some gold ink and some Aged Aqua Frantage on them for interest and to make them look a bit like they had a touch of verdigris. I also used this on the die cuts on the front cover.

The inside front cover has a flip out section with magnets and lots of fold outs for pictures and journaling, I used more of the screw heads to decorate and these fabulous wing nut heads, also from Prima as handles

This pic shows one of the pages opened out.

I hope you liked my memory book, it was very well received and I really enjoyed making it, I'm just sorry I ran out of time to make a video. I do have another couple of mini albums on the go currently though, so I should have a video to share with you in the coming weeks.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :) xx

Orchids - Use Ribbon/Lace at The Ribbon Girl

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you're enjoying your weekend, I'm busy getting everything sorted ready to go back to work tomorrow, my break was lovely, but my goodness it seemed to hurtle by.

I'm here today to share my card for the new 'Any Image' challenge over at The Ribbon Girl and this week the theme is Ribbon or Lace.......not a hard one for me eh? :P  You can find all the rules on the blog.

I went for ribbon (though I also used lace) and thought I'd do something a little different from how I normally use it, so I chose 3 colours from my image/papers and ordered some of the very pretty narrow satin ribbon that Mary and Andrea stock. It's just 3 mm wide and I've used it here in loops among my flowers in the same way that I would use twine. It gives such a pretty effect.

The gorgeous image is by Jeremiah Ketner, I have been chomping at the bit to colour up some of his artwork!  This one is called Orchids and it's just divine, love his work!

I coloured it up with my distress ink markers and I've totally forgotten what colours I used here! I do know that the hair is Evergreen Bough mostly and that the skin is Vintage Photo.

I tried something a little different on her hair and outlined the edges with a Sakura Stardust pen in Clear Star, I was inspired to do this by the fact that on Jeremiah's paintings he uses a lighter colour on the edges of the hair strands to really make them pop, and it made me think of Elise Dinolfo's white gel pen technique. The gel pens I have never seem to work well though (must remember to buy myself a Sakura one) so I used a Star Dust one instead.
Now I have to say I was holding my breath the whole time as I really did not want to ruin my already coloured image, and it could have gone so horribly wrong.....so, you might want to experiment on a practice coloured piece first lol!  It really does look lovely in real life, the camera (or my photography skills do not do it justice here.

The lovely paper is from a Kaisercraft pad, I've used an old Doily Flower Doo Hickey die and a Cherry Blossom branch from La-La Land Crafts.

I used the following Ribbon Girl goodies on my card, and I've added the links so you can click on and go straight to the item in the store.

You can buy amazing butterflies like this one from Karla's Kreative Korner

If you'd like to see more of Jeremiah's work (make a drink and set aside some time, there's lots to delight the eyes) you can find him here. If you want to try your hand at colouring one of his images you can find digital stamps of his work on his Etsy shop here. This won't be the last of his I colour, I have plans for a 'few' more lol.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the team's amazing makes, and we'd love to see you enter the challenge!

That's all from me for today, time to go and do some ironing, see you soon! :) xx
