Amber at Dies to Die for

Happy Friday all!  I'm a very happy bunny today for several reasons, firstly I have a few days holiday from work, secondly my beautiful daughter is coming to visit this weekend and finally I absolutely love my card today, it turned out so well!

This is 'Amber', one of the new Saturated Canary collection from Little Darlings Rubber Stamp, isn't she lovely? I just adore her.

I've coloured her up with my Copics today,  I think she would look equally wonderful in Distress Inks, and I will certainly be colouring her in those another time,  but Copics suited this wonderful paper pad 'Ambrosia'  from Bo Bunny perfectly.

I cut her out with my pierced ovals from MFT and then slipped a couple of doilies cut with the Felicity Doily Die from Cheery Lynn. All edges have been inked with Walnut Stain distress ink.

I cut a lot of little butterflies with the Dancing Butterflies die from Memory box, to echo the little butterflies that are fluttering around her in the image. I edged the frame with this lovely TuTu trim in lilac, it's called purple, but it seems much more lilac to me!

This gorgeous bow and bling are from The Ribbon Girl.

Finally I decorated the inside to compliment the front, even adding a few more of those delightful butterflies. I was going to add a sentiment involving butterflies to the front of the card, but in the end there really wasn't enough room lol, but one can always be added to the inside if needed.

Walnut Stain Distress Ink

I added lots of bright and beautiful flowers, plus ribbon lace and bling from my stash including

Cosmos Daisy - Deep Pink
Cosmos Daisy - Purple
Diamante Heart
(I coloured this a bit darker with a Copic marker)
Fuchsia Spot Organza Ribbon
Clementine Vintage Lace
2 mm Flat Back Gems
(coloured with Copics)
5 mm Flat Back Gems
(coloured with Copics)

I hope you like my make for today, I have to admit I'm a little in love with her myself and it was very hard to part with her, but she's already sold to one of my best customers.

I'm back again tomorrow with my GDT post for Art by Mi Ran, and in contrast to today we're going soft and subtle. See you then! :) xx

Happily Ever After - The Remix

Good morning! It's a quick share from me today.  A while ago I was approached via my blog contact form and asked to make a card for a 10 year anniversary. The person was quite specific in wanting a card very similar to another card I made last year.  Now I don't normally repeat a card, but they wanted something very similar, so this is probably the closest I'll ever come to making the same card twice.  The layout stamp and colour scheme are pretty much the same, but I made some subtle changes, to give the same effect without being a direct copy. So basic layout is the same, as is the stamp and clock die, and the small fob watch charm.

What did I change?  Well the original card had pearl strings, I substituted sparkly faceted ones. I used different papers, though in the same neutral colour scheme (the papers behind the clock face is the same as the original though).  On this card I used wide stacked fishtail banners, instead of long thin banners in a row. and I added the numerals. The lace, ribbons, ruffle and embellishments are all (apart from the charm) different.  The stamp is the same and is paper pieced like the orginal, but colours are slightly different as are the papers used.  The stamp was coloured to match the skin tones and hair colours of the couple who were celebrating their anniversary

The inside too is a little different from the original card and contains a sentiment.

If you're interested in seeing the original card you can find it in this post

I do have to say that I think this is the stamp I own that I have used the most, I think this makes 5 times and 3 of those have been weeding cards, it is my most favourite stamp.

Well that's all from me today, but i'll be back on Friday with my regular scheduled post, and I do have to say I fell in love with the card when I was making it, so I'm really looking forward to sharing it with you.

Bye for now! :) xx

Totally Tilda Use a Tree

This is my second post today, so if you are looking for my post for The Ribbon Girls, please scroll down.

It's time for a new challenge at Totally Tilda today, and we're still in Christmas mode.  This week we want to see a Christmas tree on your creations (along with Tilda of course), The tree could be part of the image, on your design paper, a die cut, embossing, a charm, a button....well you get the picture.  As long as your creation has a stamped and coloured Tilda on it along with some form of Christmas tree, it fits the challenge.

I inked up one of my very newest Tildas for this challenge, This is Christmas Candle Tilda, love her she's sooooooo cute!

Tilda has been coloured in Copics.
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, R20
Hair:E40, E42, E44, E47, E49
Clothes: E40, E42, E43, E31, E33, E35, R35, R37, R59

I used some more Days of Winter papers from Pion Design.  The sentiment has been stamped with Versamark ink and then embossed with Wow embossing enamel in a sparkly white.

My Christmas tress were cut with a Magnolia die, it's an old one I've had for ages now, but it's the perfect size. I used a little liquid aplique on the branches and then sprinked on some glamour dust to make it look snowy.

The inside is decorated with matching papers and the same die I used to frame the sentiment. I stamped a few snowflakes around the edges but left plenty of room to write a message.
