Ladybug Marci - Spring/Easter at La-La Land

Happy Monday everyone. Well it's mixed feelings from me today, the start of a short 4 days week and looking forward to my Easter Holiday, but this is a rather sad post from me as it's my very last post as a member of La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Team Monday.

I've been part  of the team (or the kit team) for a whole year now (wow, that went fast), and to think I originally signed for a 3 month Guest Spot lol! If I won the lottery and didn't have to work I would stay forever lol, but sadly as bills need to be paid I still need to keep the day job, so I have to spread my time around and sadly that means giving up some of the things I love to do other things sometimes.

I have had the most fun and wonderful time and I would like to say a huge thank you to Irina, Debbie and all the girls from Team Monday and all the rest of the DT for making me so welcome and giving me such a fun time (we won't mention the parties :P ), and I hope that they will invite me again next year.

So without any more ado, ...or I will starting sniffling.....this is my swan song for LLLC. The theme for this week is Spring or Easter....and as it's my last post I wanted to make it a really good one. I think I succeeded here :)

I used the following La-La Land Crafts products on my card:

If you're in the UK or Europe you can get all of these at Dies to Die for

I don't really send Easter cards, so I made a card in lovely spring colours, but as a nod to Easter I made an 'egg' shaped card (it's really an oval not an egg, but close enough ;)
I coloured Ladybug Marci with my distress ink markers -

Skin: Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet
Hair: Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord
Outfit: Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Scattered Straw, Brushed Corduroy

The papers are a mix of Maja Design, Vintage Spring Basics, I inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and shabbied the whole thing up with a little Gesso.

I added some glamour dust to the dots on her wing cases and boots and to the ends of her antennae.

I found this little wooden ladybird button in my stash and popped it on this lovely sheer ribbon and finished off with a mix of flowers to match my papers.

I used the following embellishments from The Ribbon Girl

Well that's all from me today, I'll be back on Friday as usual, but don't forget to check out the rest of the team's gorgeous makes here!

You can also find more inspiration on our Facebook and Pinterest pages.

Have a great Monday! :) xx

Sabrina - Anything Goes with Flower Power at Saturated Canary

Hi again, 2 posts in one day?! Get me. If you're looking for my Dies to Die for post, please scroll down.

I'm back again with my Saturated Canary GDT hat on, because we have a new Facebook challenge live today over in the Saturated Canary Facebook Group, it's anything goes with Flower Power, so you can make anything you like, as long as it has a Saturated Canary digi or rubber stamp on it and is flowery in some way.

I used Sabrina, I must admit that I've had this digi in my folder for a very long time, just waiting for the right time to use her, and with her pocket full of flowers I thought she'd be just the thing for this challenge.

I coloured Sabrina with my distress ink markers.
Skin: Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Victorian Velvet
Hair Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Outfit & Flowers: Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, Milled Lavender, Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Shabby Shutters, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry.

That's all from me for today, have a lovely weekend! :) xx

Boho Chic at Dies to Die for and some exciting news!I

Happy Friday everyone, it's the weekend soon ..wheee!! and that can only mean one thing, it's time for my inspiration piece for Dies to Die for.

Today I'm using the delightful 'Boho Chic' a Dollhouse stamp from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.

This is my first time using one of the Dollhouse collection, but it certainly won't be my last, I just love them! In fact you'll be seeing more Little Darlings Rubber Stamps shares from me. I was going to wait until my first official post for them, but since Angie mentioned it the other night in the LDRS Facebook Group, I can't wait any longer to tell you that I've joined the Little Dralings Rubber Stamps Design Team!!! How cool is that? I have to say that when Angie asked me if I would join the team I barely let her finish the sentence before answering yes yes YES!  I was just a 'bit' excited :P So look out for my first post for them in April. I have to say there will be more of these lovelies available in May and you will NOT want to miss them, I'm in love with them already.

My choice of which stamp to use was driven primarily by the paper, as soon as I saw this fabulous flowery MME paper that came in my DT pack, I knew which stamp I wanted to use with it.

I've listed the products I've used at the end of my post along with links to take you directly there.

I coloured her with my Distress ink Markers.

Skin: Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick.
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Outfit and Bird: Festive Berries, Mustard Seed, Black Soot, Evergreen Bough, Bundled Sage

I used the new LDRS Dewdrop Circle die behind her, isn't it fab, look at that gorgeous embossing.

I thought this MFT die echoed those pinking edged circles on the paper perfectly!

The sentiment, which is also from LDRS, is framed by a Scrapberry's frame embellishment. These come in white but I colored it with one of my Copic markers, Tracy has only just got these in stock at Dies to Die for (lucky me I got to use one first!) but they should be available on the website really soon, maybe even this weekend :)

Before I go I just wanted to share one more bit of news with you (if you're on FB you will probably have seen this already). I got published! Very exciting and I'm just sharing a pic of one of my magazine posts below.

How exciting is that? It was for Die Cutting Essentials magazine. Not my very best work as it was a very last minute request, but still very exciting to be asked and find yourself in print.

On that note I'll bid you all adieu, but I will be back in a very short while with another post.

Take care! :) xx

Paper Doll Marci-Birthday, Doilies at La-La Land Crafts

Happy Monday peeps!  Another week at work but next week is a short 4 days week due to the Easter hols and then I have a lovely long break and lots of time for relaxing, crafting....and sorting out all the mess in my craft corner, time to re-organise I think! Not that I can do a lot with such a small space, but it's good to try.

Anyhoooo, the reason I'm here today is for my usual Monday inspiration post for La-La Land Crafts.

This week the theme is 'Doilies'  not a hard one for me I can assure you lol. Even though I never use the bought paper doilies any more, I do love a doily die. I've used several 'doily' dies on my card, though you may have to look hard to spot some of them peeking out from under everything else!

I used the following La-La Land products on my card.

All of the above can be purchased at Dies to Die for

I coloured up Marci with my Distress Ink markers to match these pretty papers from the Timeless Victorian pad from Lili of the Valley

Distress Ink Markers
Skin: Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Seedless Preserves
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Seedless Preserves
Outfit: Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, Pumice Stone.

To be honest I did intend this to be very soft and pastel, but somehow when I let the creative monster loose, it decided that wasn't going to happen lol!

I shabbied up some lovely seam binding to use for my bow. This is VERY easy to do, just soak your length in some cold water, scrunch up tightly, and then either dry overnight, or if you're impatient like me you can use a heat gun (on low) or a hairdryer to dry it.

I used lashings of glamour dust to give her some sparkle,

I kept the inside quite simple, using more LotV papers and the same circles and doily as on the front.

I used the following embellishments from The Ribbon Girl.

Well that's all from me today, but I'll be back later this week with some more inspiration to share.  Until then, enjoy your week! :) xx

Fiona Loves Flowers at Dies to Die for

Wheeeee! It's Friday again and soon the weekend with lots of time to craft.  I'm on time this week with my Dies to Die for card, finally getting a bit back on track after all the time lost to being ill, and with energy back the mojo seems to be flowing better.

It seems ages since I used an Uptown Girls stamp, but when this one arrived in my DT pack I couldn't wait to stamp her out and colour her up.

I used my Distress Ink markers to colour her

Skin: Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs
Flowers and Outfit: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries, Mowed Lawn, Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass

I inked the papers with Walnut Stain DI, then distressed, stitched and finally slapped it all with lashings of Gesso.

I kept the inside fairly simple.

I've included a list of products used with links below, but I couldn't find the link for the border at the top of my card, if we find it I'll add it later!

That's all from me today, but I'll see you soon, take care and enjoy your weekend! :) xx

Love You Marci - Use Something New at La-La Land

Happy Monday everyone, hope you're all having a great stat to your week. I'm here for my regular La-La Land Crafts inspiration post, and this week the theme is 'Use Something New'

Well I've actually used several new things on my card today, the stamp, the papers and the sentiment.

I used the following LLLC products on my card

I coloured Marci with my distress ink markers

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Aged Mahogany
Hair: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs
Outfit: Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Pumice Stone, Brushed Corduroy

Papers used are from Pion Designs' Siri's Kitchen, I paper pieced her dress with some of the same paper, I think it gives her a bit of a 'country' make-over lol.

I used some lovely embellishments to finish off, and I thought the MFT sentiment just fitted the card perfectly.

Bowie at Dies to Die for

Good afternoon!  I'm late with my make for yesterday for Dies to Die for as this week was a really busy one at work, good busy, but still I'm happy it's the weekend and I can relax and craft. I got some VERY exciting news at the beginning of the week that had me leaping around like a loon (good job I was able to breathe normally again! lol), but I can't share that with you for a few weeks, so watch this space :)

Today's card is made with the delightful Bowie by Saturated Canary from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps, of course it's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Krista Smith's gorgeous images, and I've teamed her with these oh so pretty papers from Glitz...aren't the colours just so sweet?

I've linked the products used at the end of the post for you.

I coloured Bowie with my Distress Ink markers.

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick
Hair: Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs
Outfit: Ripe Permisson (I;ve added some white dots with my Posca marker)

I edged all the layers with Walnut Stain DI and stitched them with top stitch thread. I've popped some cheesecloth under the layers.

I cut my image out with a Stitched Circle die and slid a Lovely View die cut behind.

A little trim, some flowers and pearls and voila! I really love the way she turned out, I hope you do too.

This card is for sale in my Etsy store.

That's all from me for today, I'm going to find the time this weekend to catch up with some of your blogs and see what I've missed.

Hope you have a great weekend! :) xx

Paris Flea Market - Vintage at DOC

Good evening everyone, this card should really have gone live last Friday, but I was a little late though not being well and then when I got home from work I fell asleep and didn't get to post it!  and as it fitted so well for our next challenge at Deep Ocean Challenge which is

Vintage

and I was posting late anyway, I thought I'd combine the two and post for both DOC and Dies to Die for with the one card.

As I hadn't been feeling well I wanted to make a card that wouldn't require colouring an image, so I chose these gorgeous papers from the new (ish) collection by Pion, 'Paris Flea Market'.

They are all so lovely I had a hard time deciding what I was going to use, but they also have a fabulous sheet of vintage images that are just perfect when you don't want to stamp and colour.

So I got out my ink, distressing tool, needle and thread and some gesso and distressed and shabbied everything up.

This is the result.

I've linked the products I've used at the end of the post.

Products used:

9mm Pink Velvet Ribbon
Pink Button Twine
8mm Pearl Ivory Flat Backs
6mm Pearl Ivory Flat Backs
Dusky Blue Wild Rose
Cherry Blossom Antique Blue Two Tone

Well that's all from me today, but I hope to see your lovely vintage makes over at Deep Ocean Challenge soon! :) xx

St Patricks or Good Luck at La-La Land Crafts

Happy Monday all! I'm still on a high as I feel so much better health wise, just being able to breathe properly makes such a difference to everything, including getting a proper nights unbroken sleep!  I even ran up and down the stairs yesterday, something I haven't done for months.

Anyway, I'm here with Team Monday  for the La-La Land Inspiration blog, and this week the theme is 'St Patricks Day' or 'Good Luck'

I took my inspiration from St Patricks Day and went all Irish Green and Fae.

I used Paper Doll Marci - Christmas Elf and even though she's a Christmas stamp, I thought she worked perfectly as an Irish Pixie, coloured in Green and White, don't you?

I used the following La-La Land Crafts products:

These are all available at Dies to Die for

I coloured Marci with my distress ink markers.

Distress Ink Markers
Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo
Hair: Tea Dye, Rusty Hinge
Outfit: Shabby Shutters, Pumice Stone, Gathered Twigs

For once my glitter is showing up well in my photos, how did I do that?

I'm not normally a huge fan of green, but I actually love the way this turned out.

Well that's all from me today, but don't forget the check out the rest of the makes up on the blog, it's very worth it!

Birthday at the Ribbon Girl

Happy Sunday all. Well I finally went to the docs on Thusday and he put me on a course of Prednisolone (oral steroids) as well as increasing the strength of my inhalers and I have to say I feel so much better. It feels like months since I've actually been able to breathe properly and you really don't realise how bad it's got sometimes until you feel the contrast. Not sure I could run a marathon but I feel marvelous!

Anyhoo......it's the 2nd Sunday in the month already (where did it go?!) and that means it's time for our Lovely Lili challenge at The Ribbon Girl.......except that we're having a bit of a change and now it's a 'Use Any Image' challenge.

So you can make whatever you want, be it cards, mixed media, altered art etc, as long as it has an image on it. Of course you can still use your LotV stamps if you wish.

Our theme this week is

'Birthday'

easy right?

For my card I've used a new digi stamp from Saturated Canary, it's called Inked Pretty, isn't she gorgeous?

I couldn't wait to colour her up when she was sent to me by the lovely Krista from Saturated Canary. The wonderful perks of being a guest on her Design Team :) I coloured her with distress ink markers to match these lovely LotV papers.  Yes I know, I've used this pad a lot recently, I just LOVE it!

I used the following colours

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Victorian Velvet
Hair: Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs
Top and Tattoo: Victorin Velvet, Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters

I stamped a little birthday sentiment in the space below the image, with Momento Ink in Rich Cocoa.

I inked all my edges with Walnut Stain distress ink and then distressed and stitched the layers. I added lots of fab embellishments from the Ribbon Girl.

Finally I decorated the inside to coordinate with the front and shabbied the whole thing up with some gesso.
